She stood over their bodies every single one of them, was dead. Man, woman, and child. They where aunts, uncles, and cousins, and of course her older no good sister, but she hated even considering them as related to her, even sharing the same blood as her. There was only two left now, the ones who brought her into this world. The ones who dilliutled her mind as a child, of that pure bloods were not special, that all magical beings were equal. Nonsense they have de-filled this family name, and I must purge it thought Amber as she moved her way to the room at the end of the hallway. Entering she looked at a man and woman on the ground tied up with thick black robes, crying and begging her to have mercy. No there would be no mercy, for them, they had ruined the Sandoval family name made it a joke to other pure bloods. This was something she had to do, a purge of the family. ”No mercy…a death meant for the wasted house of Hufflepuff, and all blood traitors”whispered Amber as she bent down to her parents and gave them a wicked looking smile. In a swift movement with her wand a large chest appeared it looked like a double coffin. Pointing her wand at them she whispered ”Crucio” and laughed as her parents squirmed in pain on the ground. She kept the curse going until both passed out from the pain, she gave a little shrug and waved her wand leaviting them in the double sized coffin. ”Incendio” said Amber and flames erupted around the chest, she closed the door and walked off knowing, the fire would kill them and hoped they awoke before they died. Her evil laugh, which sounded insane almost, filled the night sky, than a tiny pop as she apperated.
Then in a matter of seconds she was awake sitting at a table in the Coffin House reading one of the books, and she apparently had nodded off. She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath and then opened them. She had no regrets in what she did that night, only that it had not come sooner. It was not personal, it was what had to be done they, all of them, had gone back on the history of the Sandoval family. One that demanded respect, not worked for it. One that would never allowed anything other than pure-blood arraigned marriage to keep the line going. However; for some reason she was unable to get that night out of her head, when she slept she would dream about it all the time, it was a curse for her. It had been years since that night, yet she was cursed to re-live it every night in her dreams it seemed like.
Shaking her head she got up from the chair and put the book away in the small bookcase at the back of the store. She came here a lot not to study Necromancy, even through that’s what the shop was dedicated too. One of her friends worked at the shop, so when Amber was bored and had nothing to do she would hang out at the shop, and read up on the subject sometimes. However she believed raising the dead impossible, Necromancy was a dead form of magic. She knew she had tried it before, and nothing happened. Of course maybe she was doing it all wrong, and the magic did exit and could be used, she was not sure at all anymore. ”Hey you guys carry any books on like poisons”asked Amber as she looked over her friend behind the counter. Her friend nodded and handed her a black torn book titled “Potions and Poisons of the Dark” and just gave a smile to her. Returning the smile she grabbed the book and started to read into it looking for nothing really, she was just all of sudden interested in learning of some new poisons to use in potions, never knew when it might come in handy.

Knockturn alley was definitely her kind of place. Dark arts, poisons -- all kinds of crazy, weird and definitely unusual things that you wouldn't dare to find (or that anyone would dare to sell) anywhere else. Of course she had to be careful who saw her here and not. Teachers would probably get suspicious if they saw a student in such a place. Not that she cared what they thought of her--but she had a method to her madness as it were. Some of the more irritating types might already suspect a student was responsible for such foul play...and even if they did--they were not going to find out it was her. Not now. Not yet. She had to wait just a bit longer. Just until she graduated anyways. Then for all she cared--the whole damn world could know who she was and what she was all about! But she had to wait until she knew all that she could possibly know from that school. Before she helped destroy it that was. One step at a time she had to keep telling herself. She had to keep telling herself not to go too far too fast. She did not want to end up in Azkaban...or worse.
She walked into the coffin house--taking note of the people there and mentally shrugging as she walked over to the aisles and began to peruse through the books. They were on how to raise the dead--necromancy they called it. A form of magic Elaine herself never looked into or held much interest in. Raising the dead sounded a bit foolish to her. If the person died -- be it from natural causes, someone else's hand or just plain stupidity--then it was there time. They had brought it on themselves most of the time. And so why give them a second chance? They had their chances when they were alive. It made no sense--but it never deterred her from looking every once in a while.
And sides--this beat being in Diagon Alley with those goody two shoes and halfblood fools and mudblood idiots and pureblood traitors who actually thought they were worth something any day of the week.
'Well well well look whose here. Doing some more window shopping Elaine?' the person behind the counter saw the 7th year Slytherin and said snarkily. Elaine couldn't help the smirk that played across her lips. The shop keeper was teasing her and she knew it. He always made some kind of remark like that when she showed up...
"Yeah I suppose I am. What of it?" she asked as sassily as she always did. The other just laughed softly and shook his head as he turned his attention to someone else. She then saw another worker passing a book to a woman who began reading it. And there was something about the woman that seemed—to prick her curiosity if you will. There was something about her that seemed to scream strength. And superiorness. Things that always interested Elaine as she vied for such things herself. Now Elaine wasn’t the kind to just walk up to someone and say hi, hello, how are you – but she was going to stick around and perhaps window shop a little longer to see if she saw or heard something that interested her more…

As she flipped each page the different poisonous potions seamed to get more evil and dark with each page turn. Truly fascinating herself a smile played on her lips as she turned each page combing through all the text, looking for something. Her eyes grew a little wider as she read on about very a lethal poison that left no trace. She grabbed piece of parchment and quill out of her bag and started writing down the directions and ingredients. The green ink slowly started disappearing off the paper as soon as she would finish a word. It was a little trick that Amber had learned and she had pushed it further, because the ink would not show itself despite anyways attempts to do so, they would need her wand to do so. Smiling to herself she put the once again blank paper and quill back in the bag and put it over her shoulder and then turned as she saw someone come into the store.
She was young, looked like she was probably a student something about her made Amber just stare at her. If she was a student, it would was not normal for one to be in the Coffin House, she knew Hogwarts did not assign school homework that needed this shop’s items. She gave a little smile and went back to the book as she saw the young lady move down one of the aisles of books. She turned pages looking for something else that might attract her attention, so many different poisons each working at different times, hell some only worked at night times. Something about watching a person die from posion is just breathtaking thought Amber, her head turned in the direction of voices from a guy behind the counter to the girl who had walked into the store. Elaine thought Amber as she heard the guy call her that, she assumed it must be the girl’s name or nickname at least. Another thing was interesting in the question that sparked Amber’s interests, the word ‘more’. Maybe she comes here often she gave a quick thought as she gave a little smirk at the girl’s sassy response. She had attitude and it was something Amber loved.
She went back to her book but, as soon as she did a guy who had been near the back of the shop walked up and put his hand on Amber. Her head snapped back at once, her dark black eyes filled with anger at being touched by a stranger. ”Making more potions for the department of mysteries, doesn’t the Ministry have enough?”. Her eyes still filled with anger a smirk played on her lips as she stood up looking right at the man. The man somehow knew Amber worked in the department, weather he knew she commanded it she was not sure. However; he was foolish to touch her, or even to attempt to discuss the department’s work with her, both of them mistakes that would prove fatal. ”Silly boy, I can assure you we work on more than just poisons…we know your dreams and your hearts desires, your fears even who you love and want to bang. I know stuff that you couldn’t even dream of, now I suggest you walk away before you wish I poisoned you…or do you think you can take me big boy?” said Amber her voice was soft and seductive almost like a whisper but loud enough for others to hear. There was something evil behind the tone, the way her eyes looked at the man and looked him up and down and the way she called a grown man in his forty’s “boy” showed the confidence she had, but it seamed almost like she was attempting to hold herself back. In fact she was, she wanted nothing much to slit the guy's throat with a dagger that was on the counter, her black eyes glanced at it and went back to the guy.
Before the guy could say anything he looked down to see Amber’s wand in his gut, he looked back up to Amber who gave him a small little smile and gestured her head to the door. ”Good choice, now say hi to your dear family for me”said Amber as the guy headed for the door, she had no idea if she knew he had a family or not but the dreaded look on his face when she said ‘family’ made her assume he did. She gave a little laugh as she gave a smile to the rest of the people in the store, pocketed her wand and brought the book back up to the counter handing it to her friend. ”I found what I needed”” stated Amber as her friend just laughed about the overall incident that just occurred while Amber just smiled, she turned looking out the window of the shop to see the guy had disappeared. Part of her hoped the guy was lurking in an alley way waiting to attack her, the thought made an evil smirk play on her face she just stared out the window.

Hmmm there was plenty, plenty of innnteresting things to look at here. Things that weren’t around every shop that she stepped in. Books about all kinds of dark arts, poisons and some things that she didn’t even understand. It was strange – how much the dark arts appealed to her. Maybe it was the power in them—or perhaps the taboo like perception surrounding them (there was something about doing something forbidden that felt exciting to her). Or perhaps the feeling of being able to scare people—or maybe it was something else entirely. One could never really say with Elaine. Ahh alas she could not do much of these things just yet. Not while she was a student anyways. There was still much to learn for this young grasshopper and not to mention the professors and ghosts and prefects breathing down her neck. There was little room for error right now and as much as she hated it—she still had to play the part of the innocent one. Even if she wanted to wipe them all away.
’Ohh now HERE is an interesting find’ she thought as she spied a book behind that was frustratingly behind the counter. It was a book on untraceable poisons. Now THIS was something that held her interest. None of this rising the dead stuff. Let them stay dead as far as she was concerned. Ahh! But it was beyond her reach and she did not fancy getting questioned by the owner on why SHE of all people would need something like this. Next time though----next time….
The Slytherin student’s attention was swung away from her findings and books as she heard a bit of commotion. She turned to see a man harassing the woman that Elaine had spotted when she had entered the store. The girl’s eyebrow rose as she heard the conversation at hand (she wasn’t usually one for eavesdropping but it was hard not to with a resident loud mouth about). This woman was a department of Mysteries worker? That was – unexpected. She thought all ministry workers were either huge gits (like the minister of magic who swore up and down that nothing was going on) or total goody two shoes who were bound to be thorns in her sides (like James’ dad or that pesky Herbology professor). She never would have pictured a worker for THEM being in a PLACE like this.
Eh but who was she to care? Who was she to be nosy? As the woman got annoyed and more or less threatened the other—Elaine couldn’t help but smirk. This lady had bite! And an attitude to boot. She wasn’t about to let that guy harass her and Elaine liked that in someone. Of course Elaine wasn’t at all concerned with what could happen to the guy mind you. If that silly boy wanted to get in over his head—then who was she to stop him? Who was she to not let the older woman have her fun? It certainly looked as if she wanted to let him have a piece of her mind…
But alas it was not to be. The man left without too much of a hassle and Elaine had to tsk slightly. People. And you wondered why she kept to herself and didn’t get close to many. But she could not resist walking towards the other – cause she was curious about this…this ministry worker. Why was she here? Knockturn alley was known for its dark arts related objects. The ministry opposed all of that sort of thing—didn’t it? It didn’t make any sense to her and now that her curiosity was pricked—she wasn’t going to stop until she had her information.
But she knew better than to poke and prod like that fool had. A bit of finesse was called for.
As she approached the other—she decided to compliment her on her good job handling that idiot. ”Nice job with him. I thought he was going to keel over there for a moment.” she said with a smirk as she looked out the door.
…well it was as close to a compliment as you were going to get with Elaine…what else did you want?

As her eyes looked out the window she thought about the scenario of the man trying to attack her when she left the store. Key word was ‘’trying’’ in this case, as he would ended up being dead if he tried such a move on her. A smirk played on her lips, but quickly disappeared when someone else approached her, she turned her head in a sharp movement as if she would have to deal with another “inferior being”. Before saying anything she stopped and saw that it was the young lady that had entered earlier, she looked like a student more now that she saw her close up. A smirk played on Amber’s face as the girl gave her a compliment, if you could take it as that, usually she heard better from people. Now who is this girl thought Amber as she quickly looked her up and down, something about her stood out to Amber, she was not sure what. However; after working in the Department of Mysteries so long she had became to have a sixth sense feeling of some people, and something about this girl seemed very interesting to Amber, for unknown reasons. Her head turned slightly to her friend behind the counter who just shook her head, as if she had nothing to say, about the girl who just came up to Amber and spoke to her.
Turning back to the assumed student Amber eyed her once more and gave a little sly smile on her lips, she was intrigued already be the unknown person. Oh, and Amber of course loved how she had taken notice that the guy did indeed look like he was going to kneel over. ” He was easy, I’m use to more of a fight guess he knew better however…to bad, sorry you didn’t get to see the big performance” said Amber he voice was just a soft cold tone, and near the end of her sentence she looked back out the windows of the shop as if the guy was there. You have a family sir…I’m sure I’ll find them eventually and kill them all, it will be a sweet pleasure thought Amber as she gave a smile and turned back to the girl that was in front of her. She nodded at her and turned away from her and moved back to the table she was sitting at where her bag was sitting. She packed her stuff from the table and put it back into her bag before turning to face where the counter was. Walking over she grabbed a book off the counter that she had bought earlier and put it in her bag, not paying attention to the young girl anymore.
Even though she was intrigued by the girl, Amber was not going to show that much attention to her that’s not how she played these games. She was always in control, not the other person, and for some reason the girl had felt the need to come over to Amber, and she had heard some of the conversation she assumed. If she had heard the guy mentioning she worked at the Department of Mysteries that would mean, she could be another person looking for information from Amber something that happened to her when people found out she was in charge of the department. Picking her bag up she moved over to the counter where she started writing something down on a pad of paper for her friend, one eye looking at the young girl to see if she would come and strike conversation with Amber, part of her wanted her too badly.
