His green eyes scanned the dungeons as he made his way out of the Slytherin Common room; it was time for his patrols. He had first checked up on the common room to make sure everything was correct and in order and of course that no one was awake in the common room. It was around at least two in the morning, the Headmaster had given him these guard shifts to patrol the dungeons, for now. He had been told soon he would be guarding something very important, he just smiled to himself for he knew what the Headmaster was planning. Still can’t believe he’s going to sneak it in to the school thought Vince as he made his way down the dungeons in pure darkness, as the torches along the wall were empty of fire.
He stopped and looked around himself for a moment in front and behind in case someone was watching him. He saw no one or felt no one presence, so in a very fast movement. His body dropped to the floor and grew skinny as he took the form of a large black snake. It was very long, and the eyes stayed the same color as green as Vince had in his human form. He slithered along the dungeon floor gaining speed as he went, his head up and tongue tasting the air. He enjoyed his form on a snake very much, his size struck fear into people and it seemed to be so easy to move around, he could move extremely fast in this form. Black Racer thought Vince as he entered a lower part of the dungeon, feeling the ground become entirely more cold. Black racer had been what someone called his snake form when he first transformed into it in Egypt, where he learned much of his Transfiguration skills.
Then in a swift movement the snake shot up to the sky and took the form of Vince again as he removed his wand from his cloak and looked around. When he had entered the lower part of the dungeon he had felt something in the area, when his snake tongue had tasted the air. He waved his wand and the torches along the wall lite up with green flames as Vince peered around the corner looking down the long dungeon hallway. No students should be out of bed, if so they would be in trouble depending on other Professor’s however he had been told to win the hearts of his students over as much as he could. ”Ello? called out Vince, his voice dry and raspy. He waited as the green flames danced off his face, waiting for a response he was sure someone was down in the dungeons with him.

Lien Hua swore she had a good reason for being out of bed - she swore. Kwong was missing! Her beloved pet rat had scurried off into the nothingness, somewhere, during the day, and now he was gone. It was... utterly distressing, to be honest, because she loved that rat. Now, she had to figure out where on earth she was! Of course, ransacking her dorm and the common room was her immediate thing, but she didn't want to use the 'Accio' spell, just in case. After all, what if she was in someplace small, or stuck somewhere, or the angle just made her smash into something? The thoughts were utterly horrendous! A 'Point Me' spell would work great, and begging a 7th year to do so had quickly revealed that crap, Kwong was not in the dorm. That was really worrying.
Unfortunately, she couldn't find a Prefect - which made sense, they were probably asleep or patrolling at this point, depending on how their schedules were - there really wasn't a quick way to contact a teacher (nor would she think it wise to contact them this late at night)... But she couldn't leave Kwong out there, not at the mercies of the cats! So many students had cats, and even if they didn't, she knew that the caretaker had one - it was a tradition, pretty much. So eurgh, what to do... Her closer friends, like Will, had already hit the hay, and she wasn't planning on trying to go wake them up, especially as it would involve sneaking into the boy's dorm...
Thus, it was clearly her responsibility to go after her alone!
That led to Lien Hua creeping quietly around the depths of the castle, clad in her fleece Wonder Woman pajamas, coupled with a pair of soft yellow duckie slippers - the perfect sneaking attire, in her opinion. Peeking into a classroom, she called out quietly. "Kwong?" her voice sounded, a light whisper that echoed more than she would've preferred, but- no response, no scrabble, no coming to her name. Which was the usual thing, and the Hufflepuff let out a sigh, pulling the door shut behind her, but- apparently wasn't quiet enough.
The torches in the entire hall suddenly lit up, dancing with green fire, and she froze like a deer in the headlights, eyes wide, slowly looking towards the end of the hall where the voice came from, revealing... Professor Stone. Well. She was utterly screwed. Swallowing sharply, unable to move, she hesitated for a moment, before speaking up, hands held up in a PLEASE DON'T HEX ME I SWEAR I'M FINE gesture. "I swear there's a good reason I'm out here!" she squeaked, managing to get at least that out.
It was... something?
