prologue
this is not the first biography written about kingsley shacklebolt; undoubtedly it will not be the last. i will not endeavor to call myself the most accurate biographer, nor the least biased: i am not a liar. i do believe, however, that when people die, they should not be remembered for what they did, or how they did it; they should be remembered for the lives they touched in doing so. i am proud to count myself among the people that my father changed irrevocably, and i hope that in reading his story, you are reminded that behind every great leader, there is an even greater person. this biography is composed based on the accounts of the people my father met among his lifetime, the letters he saved, and my own recollection of events. enjoy the story of the most amazing man i knew.
