The students had been found on April fifth. Masin remembered the moment she had been told. As Head Girl, she tried to keep a straight face on and not show any emotions in front of the rest of the students. As soon as she could, however, she ducked into a broom closet, shut the door and fell on her knees. Casey's name had been among the recovered students. The students were to be going to their families for however long they needed before returning to finish out the year. Masin didn't really believe in any Gods, but she found herself praying to somebody in that closet. Anybody who would listen. She was saying thank you about a million times over and over again until she was crying so hard she couldn't breathe. She didn't know how long she was there for... Then the day came for their Head Boy, Casey Finnigan, to come back. Masin was in the Great Hall waiting for him. His sister would have already seen him at home the day he was found. Masin was there to greet him, among with a few others, and to give him his missed coursework. He was excused from doing it, if he wanted, but they still would offer. He walked in the door and Masin caught her breath. She didn't even realize how much she had paid attention to him until this moment. The moment that her mind took in all the added scars on his skin. She tried to keep a poker face in tact as she walked toward him. "Welcome back," she said firmly, all business. At least in her voice and body language. Her eyes probably deceived her, though. @casey

@delisle his parents had told him to take as much time as he needed away from school, that he was welcome to stay home till he was sure he was ready to go back after what had happened. he knew they were worried and had been scared by the kidnappings but to casey staying away from school wouldn't change anything. it would also show the people that had done it that he was scared and he wasn't. if he'd been allowed to he'd have been back at school the day after they had been found, gone home to see his parents and let them see he was okay then he would have been back at school like it was business as usual but he had let his mother talk him into staying home for a little while, mostly to help calm her down rather than him needing to be there. he walked back into the halls of the school and thought it looked like nothing had changed, it felt like it. the air about the school was different, students were different. just in little ways but it was there, for someone who had to spend a lot of time with the student body of the school it was noticeable. he rubbed his hand over his neck as he walked into the great hall, his eyes settling on one person as soon as they met her. masin. in that moment it was literally like there was no one else in the room and he walked straight up to her. "Welcome back," he lifted his mouth in a slight smile as she tried to keep everything above board. he wasn't going to though. he had kept his head sane with thoughts of his family, escaping .. and her. he reached his fingers to catch her chin gently for a second before he moved to wrap his arms around her to hug her close to him. he wanted to keep his arms around her and never let go ..

He was hugging her. Now that was something that she wasn't expecting to happen. She stood there stiff as a board for a moment, acutely aware of how many people were standing around them. She was the Head Girl and he was Head Boy. There was no doubt in her mind that people were watching them. She noticed that she had stopped breathing once he put his arms around her and took in a long, shaky breath. Slowly she lifted her arms and allowed them to wrap around his waist. She returned the same amount of pressure that he had on her for a moment before she caught another breath, but this one was sharper. She closed her eyes and turned her head into his robes. She spoke in a hushed voice, "I thought I- I thought we lost you," she said, only loud enough for him to hear. @casey

@delisle he felt her stiffen beneath his arms but he didn't let her go, just kept his arms around her and if anything it made him hold her tighter. he had thought about her when he'd been gone, her and his family and his friends had flooded his mind, kept him from going crazy. if he went crazy how would he get back to them? it had been his life line and now here she was. he didn't notice the eyes that were on them, they didn't matter to him now, it was like it was just her and him in the great hall, time wasn't moving they were just standing still. he smiled slightly when he felt her breathe. "that's it. you need air you know" he said softly to her, his head already close to hers dipped a little closer. he tightened his hold on her when she hugegd him back and the feeling was better than he could ever have imagined. she was holding onto him and he was to her. he wasn't sure he'd ever want to let go. "I thought I- I thought we lost you," he chewed his lip a little and pressed his forehead down against her head softly, feeling her head turn into his shoulder and he smiled a little into her hair. "you didn't. i'm right here. "

Of course he was going to start making jokes right now. She wasn't surprised. If anything, she was glad that he did. She tightened her grip on him briefly as he said it, the comment about her needing air, and a half laugh half choke came out of her mouth, though it was rather quiet he may not have even heard it. Then he said that she didn't lose him and that he was right there. His face was in her hair and she smiled against his shoulder, nodding her head. "I know, yeah," she muttered, tightening her grip even more before finally pulling back a little, but she kept her hands wrapped around his neck. She had somehow forgotten that she was in the Great Hall, surrounded by people. She looked up into his eyes and felt her entire body melt a little. "I want to talk. But not here," she said, slowly removing her hands from him and taking a step back. "Here are the assignments you missed. You don't have to do them, but I can help you if you... if you wanted to..." she was having a hard time getting back to business a she caught his eyes again. So, instead, she just tossed the papers onto the table and leapt toward him, clasping the front of his clothes and kissing him firmly on the lips. She vaguely heard some whoops and hollers from the students in the Great Hall around them but she tuned that out. @casey

@delisle "I want to talk. But not here," he felt her hands leave his body and his fingers trailed down her arm as it let him go. he wanted to pull her back to him and never let her go but he knew she'd have a reason, she always had a reason. "Here are the assignments you missed. You don't have to do them, but I can help you if you... if you wanted to..." he raised his eyebrow a little as she spoke about homework and he glanced down to the papers in her hands and he wondered what he'd missed. it wouldn't be that much and he'd probably be able to knock it out of the way in the next few days but the last thing he wanted to think about right now was homework. he wanted masin back in his arms and he was already thinking of a place to take her where they could talk. their eyes met again and he didn't feel like he could tear them away. it had been just over a week since he'd seen her, having spent some time at home with his family before returning to the school and it had been hard .. his eyes moved from hers as she tossed the papers down on the table and before he had a moment to question her actions she was jumping at him with the speed unkown to him and he caught his arms around her waist in the same moment that she kissed him. he tightened his arms around her again, smiling into her kiss as he blocked out the whoops and hollers that were around them, probably friends of theirs who had been watching. it was hard to think about anything else right now though, the taste of her and the bells ringing in his head made him only able to think of her as he spread his fingers over her back. he broke the kiss after a few moments and he shifted to rest his forehead against hers. "that wasn't talking .." he said with a smile as he dropped one hand from her waist to bring it up to touch her cheek gently. "we have an audience .." he mumbled to her as he closed his eyes again and moved to draw her back into a kiss.

Masin relished in the feeling of his arms around her waist, his smile against her lips. She let out a small 'hmmmm' sound as he kissed her back, melting her body toward his until there wasn't any gap between them. She gasped quietly as he broke the kiss, leaning his forehead against hers. She didn't open her eyes as he spoke, calling her out on the fact that this wasn't talking.

He reached a hand up to touch her cheek and she let her eyes flutter open. At his words about the audience she remembered where they were and she caught her breath, but before she could move back his eyes were closing and he was moving to kiss her again.
She quickly lifted a finger to his lips, stopping them just short of hers. "Erh-I-" she blinked a few times before pulling her head slightly back, looking at his face. "Screw it," she decided, removing her finger and going back for that second kiss. She knew this was entirely inappropriate but she didn't care. And Masin DeLisle not caring was a very dangerous thing

@delisle he felt her finger touch to his lips and he smiled slightly under her touch and he tilted his head slightly. she was worried about kissing him a second time? after their first one? he made the most of the situation and settled for kissing his lips against her finger, his arms still tight around her waist. "Erh-I-" he looked at her when she looked at him, his dark eyes searching hers slightly as he looked into her eyes. "Screw it," he smiled as she took her finger away from her lips and he rubbed his hand over her back lightly, his fingers splayed out as he leaned back down for that kiss he had been trying for. it was everything he had thought about and more. while he'd been gone she was one of the things he thought about, how this moment would feel, how she would feel in her arms and the taste of her lips as they locked. and it had been worth thinking about. he broke the kiss off though, pulling his head back carefully and he glanced around at the people in the great hall for a split second before looking back at masin and dipping his head close to her ear. "lets go somewhere .. else" he said softly as he moved to drop one arm from her waist and he shifted slightly, his grip tightening on her waist as he leaned down to hook his arm under her legs and he swept her off her feet and up into his arms and he smiled at her before pressing a kiss to her slender shoulder and started making his way to the door of the hall.

Masin was shocked, to say the least, when she was hearing him say they should go somewhere else and then was lifting her off the ground. She let out a small yelping sound as he lifted her up and kissed her shoulder, making his way toward the door. Seriously? He was carrying her? In any other time or place she would shake her head and tell him to drop her this instant in her most commanding voice but… something was different. Not just in her, but in him too. He had been through something incredibly serious, she knew that, and being apart from him had made her realize just how much she had needed him around all these years. All the years of bickering and annoyance and she lost her mind when he wasn’t there. So, instead of telling him to stop, she lifted both hands into the air and let out a loud cheer, waving goodbye to the other students in the hall, most who watched in awe as Masin DeLisle let someone actually carry her out of the room. Once in the entrance hall she clasped his face again and kissed him one more time before pushing off of him and slowly lowering down, only to gently flatten her hands against his chest and lean him into the nearest wall. ”I’m going to kill you one of these days Casey Finnigan. As soon as I’m through kissing you,” she moved in for more kissing before breaking away again after another few minutes. ”Where did you have in mind?” she finally asked, in reference to his comment in the hall about finding somewhere else to talk. @casey
