There was always going to be that one part of her that absolutely loooved being in this store. All the little gizmos and things she could use to scare the tar out of someone...or inconvenience them was probably more like it (but that would ever be as far as she went). She always did love the shop that the Weasley twins had started-- and probably always will -- until the day she died more than likely. What store one might ask? Well the joke shop of course! Some might criticize her saying that she was an adult now. And that she should act like it. And that she shouldn't be involved in such childish things but really? She couldn't help it. Call her a big fat kid at heart. And sides -- it was a good way to let off some playful steam and to keep the mind light in spite of the terrible things that were happening.
And terrible things indeed. Selliah may have been that kid at heart but she was no idiot. People were getting murdered...and not just adults and aurors who had lived decent lives and probably amassed enemies who were seeking revenge--but a first year student. An eleven year old for god's sake! She was on her way to Hogwart's incredible world of magic and amazing powers and knowledge (if you were to ask her mind you) -- and she never got to experience any of it. She would be lying if she said she didn't feel for James--the boy who had found the girl's body. Selliah could relate to that--that shock and horror. More than he ever probably realized (as a mental flashback of her walking in on her dad’s dead body came to mind—she shuddered softly as she shook the thought from her mind).
She tried not to think about it too much but it was almost impossible not to. The message being sent was loud and blazing clear—someone was after people. No two ways about it. And seeing as how several (if not a majority of them—though she wouldn’t want to be quoted on that) of the aurors were halfbloods and the student a muggle born—she had a feeling whoever was behind this was one of those bloody supremacists who wanted all of the “filth” to be gone. She rolled her eyes—just thinking about the words made her inwardly gag. I mean how selfish could one get? Seriously? But if this was the case—then she had a target on her back. She knew a lot of folks were aware of her blood status as a muggleborn. And if her theories turned out to be true—then she could be in trouble. Danger ever.
Hah! Like that was going to stop her from doing HER job and protecting the people. Hahaha! You were kidding! She was an auror and danger was part of her job description (seriously it said so in the fine print). She wasn’t going to be scared off. You had another thing coming if you thought she was going to turn tail and run. She was going to help find whoever was responsible for this and then she was going to give them a right piece of her mind. Just because they weren’t purebloods --- that didn’t make them nothing and nobodies. Selliah was proof of that and she had worked hard for it.
Sighing and with more than just a slightly forlorn look in her eyes—she went back to looking through the prank playing items—though perhaps with not quite as much gusto as before…

At last. John was actually being stationed somewhere. He would no longer have to stress about having to spend all day long in his dingy office, doing nothing and worrying about all of his coworkers and innocent children being killed. Harry Potter, John's boss and the Head Auror, had somehow managed to convince the old fool of a Minister to let him station some Aurors at Hogwarts for extra precautions in protecting the students. John supposed the Minister just couldn't say no to protecting the children, to save him a lot of grief and trouble from angry parents later on most likely. Regardless, whatever it was, John was happy he was getting out into the field again.
And as if things could not get any better, John was being stationed back at Hogwarts with his best mate, Rob. The two had grown up together, as Gryffindor beaters, and had caused quite a lot of trouble in their days. Particularly on an old student by the name of Petar Kovachev, who was the new Potions Master at Hogwarts. Since John and Rob were both being stationed there, it was likely that the two old Gryffindors were bound to have a run in or two with their old Slytherin colleague. And what other way to instigate that fun than by stopping by Weasley's Wizard Wheezes for some new joke products to test out?
John had been a loyal customer to the Weasley's for years. It had been around his entire Hogwarts career and he would find himself spending hours in there every time he made a trip to Diagon Alley, stalking up on the latest products from George and occasionally his brother Ron, whom was now a coworker of John's at the Auror office. John walked into the familiar shop, looking around at all of the new products that he had not seen before. Obviously George Weasley had been hard at work in coming up with new ideas, and John was excited to try them out. Especially on Petar.
The old prankster began searching down the aisles for new and intriguing items when a familiar head of hair caught his attention. John stopped, doing a double take. She looked familiar... but there was something... off about her. John decided to swiftly sneak next to the woman's side. He leaned in, over her shoulder, raising an eyebrow at his coworker. "What's up, buttercup? Why the long face?" He greeted her with his normal, uppity tone. The man was generally always happy when he was out of the office, especially with a drink in hand.

It was a day off, well not really since he was getting things that he needed for where he was going to be stationed. Hogwarts. And he was going with John. Which meant that they were going back to their old stomping grounds. They knew that place inside and out, well most of it. So here he was in the one store that had many things old and new that he would need while at Hogwarts. They had said that they would try to put their differences aside with Petar but that only meant they would try. And rob was determined to have fun and prank the Slytherin once more, to help lighten the mood.
Rob had been in Weasley's Wizard Wheezes for the past few hours, taking his time to look at each product. This store had everything that a prankster could ever want. Sure he was an adult now just like John, but at heart they were still kids and pranksters. Oh this was going to be fun, especially since they had the opportunity to get out of the office and not return there unless it was absolutely necessary, which he hoped it wasn't. He was on the second floor of the shop when he heard the unmistakable upbeat tone of John's voice float through the store. Rob walked quickly towards the voice and he saw his best friend and also Selliah, a co-worker and a former Gryffindor, and also a fellow prankster. She was had been a year ahead of John and Rob but that didn't stop them from becoming friends and even pulling a few pranks together.
Rob looked around and made sure that no one else was in sight or near them before he took out his wand and cast a spell to repel anyone from seeing what he was about to do. Once the spell was in place he put his wand back into it's holster and transformed into his animagus form, a Siberian Husky. Granted he knew that both his friends would know it was him once they got over the initial shock. It was fun to be an animagus. He ran towards the railing and jumped over it. As he flew over their heads he tapped them with his front paws before he landed in front of them. Rob turned around to face John and Selliah before he turned back into himself. "Well what do we have here?" He asked and then put his hand up stopping them from replying "Oh wait, let me guess two lovebirds!" He said jokingly. He was hoping to cheer Selliah up. While he was in his animagus form he could sense something was wrong and he could still sense it. Rob was glad he was an animagus, cause some of the abilities you had as an animal kind of meshed with your regular self. Since becoming an animagus his hearing, sight and smell had improved greatly. It was kind of weird at first but Rob had gotten used to it and it really payed off.

Selliah was so absorbed into her own thoughts that she didn't even realize that she was not alone anymore. She was just trying to get her mind off of the things going on -- trying being the key word of course. She held a small noise maker prank gear in her hands as she looked it over wondering if she could (or would it be smart) to play a prank on one of her co workers. And she had just an idea on who to use it on too. Two whos actually if you wanted to be honest. She and John and Rob had been a piece of work together when they had been in school (even despite the fact that she was a year ahead of the two they still made quite the group). There was something about the two men and they had just clicked. She smirked as she remembered the detentions they sometimes had together and she couldn't help but shake her head and now they were all three working at the same place. It was kind of funny how things worked like that sometimes.
She could feel someone's presence right behind her and as the voice spoke--she gasped suddenly ... nearly dropping the object in her hands as she turned with a start. She was ready to fight. No one was going to take her down easily. She was not someone to be trifled with or underestimated. But when she saw John and that smile on his face and she couldn't help but shake her head, 'John!" she yelped softly and acting as if she was mad at him for startling her that badly (when really she wasn't). "How 'bout giving this buttercup some warning next time?" she said--cause really she would have felt bad if she had decked him one.
He asked her why the long face and she just shrugged. She didn't really want to talk about that if she was to be honest. She didn't want to seem like she was whining for starters--and second of all...there was nothing no one could do about what had already happened or change her blood lineage. And so why even mention it?
Thankfully they were distracted (hopefully though she wasn't sure if John would let her off that easy but we'll see) by Rob (and she knew it was him) when he tapped her head (and John's too) with that husky paw before landing in front of them and changing back into his human form. She rolled her eyes as he spoke. Lovebirds? "Ha ha. Very funny." she said dryly thought with a smile on the corner of her lips. She could be indignant but she really couldn't stay mad at these two for long. "So what have you two been up to?" she asked curiously cause well she hadn't seen much of them in a while and she wanted to know what they had been up too...

John had known his coworker, Selliah Davenport, for many years. During his time at Hogwarts, she had been a year ahead of them but they did happen to share a common room. Selliah also happened to be a fellow prankster, so many times John and Rob had gotten her to come along and join in on their antics, often landing all three of them in detention. He hadn't spoken to her his seventh year, and wasn't even sure what she had been up to until he got to the Auror Office himself after he had left school. John had been thrilled to see his old friend was an Auror as well, and having Selliah around made it seem just like the old days.
The old Gryffindor chuckled at Selliah's reaction. "No can do," he said with a smirk. "It is quite fun to startle you, you know," he crossed his arms in front of his chest. "And you know how I like fun." John raised his eyesbrows at his coworker as he spoke. The mood changed quickly, however, when Selliah answered, or rather... didn't really answer, John's question. She just shrugged, and John knew her well enough to know that this meant she did not really want to talk about it. And never one to pry, John left it alone.
Instead, the two were soon joined by a husky. John recognized the dog at once and rolled his eyes as the canine transformed into his best friend, Rob Hudson. He narrowed his eyes at his friend at his comment, but ignored it as Selliah replied instead. John turned to look at Selliah, then gestured to Rob. "Funny, actually," John began, thinking of their recent meeting with Harry Potter. "We've been stationed at Hogwarts as of recently," he said, looking at Rob for his input next.

Rob looked at both of his friends as Selliah asked John and him what they have been up to. "So what have you two been up to?" It was a simple question with a simple answer that John had come up answered with. “Stole my answer you git.” Rob said to John with a smirk. Making sure to establish that he was joking but then yet again this is how they usually talked to each other anyways. “Well doing paperwork, like usual since we got this new minister. But then just the other day we got word about being stationed at Hogwarts. And of course we jumped at the chance to do so.” It had been quite a while since they had seen their partner in crime, Selliah. But it was good to see her once again. They had all been off doing odd jobs, some in other countries. For example he had been in America for six months helping them take down several dark wizards, that were causing havoc and terror there.
“So now I ask you the same question. What have you been up to?” Rob asked before he paused and then added, “I hope you haven’t been brooding and moping around too much, without us here to keep you company.” He really did want to know what was bothering her, but he had an idea of what it already was but he wasn’t sure that he was right. Moving his eyes towards John he gave a very subtle nod, indicating that they needed to cheer Selliah up. He gave a slight flick of his wrist realsing his wand which was in the arm holster he had for it. He then waved it ever so slightly turning John into a clown complete with the red nose. Whose clothes highly resembled those that Peeves’ wore. He couldn’t help himself and busted up laughing before turning his friend’s hair a bright pink, and making it turn into an afro. They often did things to each other when they knew that one of them needed cheering up. The last time he had been the target, but it was John’s turn. “Selliah, I am not sure if I missed anything, would you mind taking a look and fixing anything that I missed?” He asked in an upbeat tone. This was too much fun. He had thought about using one of the products on the shelves but it could wait for a few minutes because he had the perfect item that he wanted to test out before using them on Kovachev.
