Lily nodded at his haphazard explanation, her eyes locked on his the whole time. It was rare that she took anything seriously, but this apparently was one of those things. "Okay. Well I'm going to try and say it the German way from now on. It's only proper I'd you're going to be teaching me, Adrian," she pronounced it the way he had explained, with the soft 'ah'. She smiled, deciding that it suited him more. She turned away from him then to look back out the window of the train, catching what she could as they past.
"So, teach me how to say 'train'," she requested, eyes still out the window. She smiled softly as she watched the scenery speed past. She felt... Surreal, almost. Different. She wasn't in a hurry, she wasn't even sitting in the edge of her seat. Maybe it was something about the train that caused her to be so calm. Maybe it was Germany. Maybe it was Adrian.

Adrian couldn't help but grin. She wanted to say his name correctly? Or, at least the way he'd been raised pronouncing it. She looked so serious, as if his name's pronunciation was a life or death situation. When she said his name, 'correctly', there was the slightest of shivers running up his spine. He liked hearing her say his name like that. "Unfortunately, Lily is the same. Isn't really any other way to say it." She finally broke that intense stare she'd been holding, and Adrian let out the breath he'd been holding. How did she do that? Just with a look she could make him freeze up, unable to do anything but give her his undivided attention.
"Well, there are a couple ways. Normally, it's 'der Zug', but the one we're riding is called an 'S-bahn.'. Then you have 'U-bahn'. they are pretty much the same thing. Like.... subways?" He thought that was the right word. He never had to use it in English, so he wasn't positive.

That grin that came from him at her question was enough to cause Lily to grin back, a warm feeling taking over her stomach. She nodded as he spoke about her name and shrugged, "all right," she said once her eyes were back to looking out the window, "I like my name how it is anyway," she chuckled, reaching a hand over to jokingly pat his knee as if he was a sweet child.
He explained a bunch of different names for train and her eyes widened slightly as she turned back to face him, "wow, so many. I'll just stick with the 'S-bahn' for this one," she said the words slowly, trying to figure out how the mouth formed around them. Normally she wouldn't give a darn about a thing like that but... eh.
Soon the train rolled to a stop and she grabbed his arm excitedly, "is this it!? Ti... Tiger... garden?" she made a goofy 'I don't know what I'm saying' face.

"So do I." Adrian found himself saying before he could stop himself as she said he liked her name the way it was. He liked the way it sounded. The way it made him feel. As she patted his knee though he raised an eyebrow, giving her a look that just said 'Really?', before rolling his eyes and looking away.
He grinned at her reaction to the language though. "There's a saying in German. Deutsche sprache schwere sprache. It means German is hard. But I think English is harder." He shrugged. They might have different names for different types of trains, but English was the one that made the same sounding word mean multiple things. Adrian was moving to stand as the train starting to come to a stop, but Lily latched on to him liked an excited child and he grinned. That grin got even bigger as she verbally butchered the name of the stop. "Tiergarten." He said slowly. "It means animal garden. You were close." There would be tigers there, after all. "Come on." He reached for her hand, pulling her along and off the train and onto the platform before the doors closed. It was crowded, extremely crowded, with people everywhere. "Do you want to get anything to eat first?"

Lily's smile softened a little as Adrians so do I came out of his lips. It came back quickly at his little eyebrow raise that accompanied her knee pat, though, and that made her happy. The eye roll was classic Adrian, but when he looked away her brow furrowed for a moment as she studied him. Lily didn't try to really understand anything but... she was trying to learn this German words, and she cared about saying Adrians name the proper way and she cared about the way he said he liked her name. She frowned, shaking her head, literally, as the conversation shifted, happy for the change.
He said that really weird sounding saying and she wrinkled her nose, leaning back slightly, but she was smirking. "I'm sure they're both hard in their own way though," she said, relaxing her face and shrugged as well. His grin as she clasped onto him made her grin right back, even if she coudln't pronounce the words. She mouthed it slowly back ot him but didn't say it out loud. She wasn't ready to make a fool out of herself again yet. She took his hand when offered and followed him out the doors into the crowded place, "animal garden! Awesome. Awesome," she muttered, eyes dating one hundred places at once. "Food can wait, or we can get some," she looked back to him, squeezing his hand, her eyes wide, "I don't really care I just want to see everything! How do you say everything"

Adrian shrugged. "Try learning both." To be honest though, it wasn't that hard... To Adrian. Most young Germans were bilingual. They learned English from a young age. Adrian hadn't started learning English until he was six or so, and his first year at Hogwarts had been particularly rough because he'd never practiced his English speakers (Lily could probably still remember how bad his English had been too. She'd probably taught him most of the English swear words he knew.). But by now, it was natural. He could switch between the languages without hesitation. His mother's English was far worse then his though, and he was sure he'd have to play translator at some point during this week.
He started to grin as Lily went on about seeing everything, and that food could wait. It could. They had all day, after all. He'd get her a doner when she was hungry. They.... sort of had them in England, but they tasted different. She needed to try a real one, and he already knew which one they'd go to. There was a particular shop in the northern part of Berlin. A sketchy looking shop... But you wouldn't find a better Doner in his mind. "Alles." He slowly offered when she asked what everything was in German.
They spent the afternoon just... themselves. Laughing. Having fun. Seeing the sights, and, yes, getting doners. It felt good, Lily being here with him. They only really focused on the center of the city, or 'Tiergarten'. There was so much to see in Berlin, there was no way to see it all. When it started to get late, they headed back to the apartment. Adrian's mouth hurt from laughing and smiling so much... and from having to translate every single word Lily came up with. By now they were walking down the street, just a block or so from the apartment. "Think you're up for more exploring tomorrow? We could tour the tunnels, under the city."

Adrian had a point, of course. She remembered when he first came to school and had trouble with his English. She had enjoyed that time, messing with him and teaching him simultaneously. She had almost forgotten about that! Now the roles were switched and that was kind of exciting, even though it meant she was the odd one out this time. He didn't act at all surprised by her making him translate all kinds of words all day long. It was the perfect day, just her and her best friend, goofing off and seeing the sights. Lily didn't believe that you could smile too much but her cheeks were aching and begging her to stop. The best part was Adrian translating up a storm and looking so at home and confident that Lily was almost jealous that they were on his home turf. It suited him though, the confidence. She liked seeing him in this light and often caught herself just smiling over at him with big, admiring eyes.
Of course she'd seen him confident before, but this was totally different. He was so... alive. Almost like he was when they were in wolf form. She didn't ever want to leave and succeeded well in not thinking about when the week would be over. It wasn't just him, of course. It was the adventure of being in a new place, of seeing new things, of feeling new sensations of adrenaline at every turn. She wasn't even upset when they started headed back to the apartment, walking down the street together. She was exhausted, which rarely happened to Lily Potter.
She linked her arm through his at his question and looked up at him, "tomorrow is great, so are tunnels! Ooh," she bounced excitedly on her toes. "Today was amazing! There's so much to see here. Have you even seen the sights in London? I should take you around time sometime. I mean, I know you've seen a little but never like this. Together for the whole day and stuff," she suggested, her grin still hurting her cheeks.
As they reached the apartment she stopped in front of the door, released his arm, and turned to look at him. "You know, Adrian," once again, careful to say his name the German way, "there was another phrase I was wondering about..." she kept her eyes on his and took a step closer, not that there was much distance to close between them anyway, "how do you say 'kiss me'?" Now, Lily wasn't really thinking about what she was doing. No, she never did that. She didn't think about how they had never kissed unless it was during the full moon. She didn't think about the fact that they were about to completely alone, since his mother worked all night. She didn't even think about the fact that she wasn't goofing around. That she was being completely serious.

Adrian laughed as she linked arms with him with a far to excited hop in her step. There were a few times she pulled on his arm as she bounced, just as excited as a puppy hyped up on caffeine. Where did she get all that energy? Even after an entire day of running around, and on their feet she was still going a hundred kilometers an hour. But... to be honest? He was the same way. He felt like he could just keep going, and going. Being with Lily gave him strength and energy, as if sapping the exhaustion away. "I've seen some, but I wouldn't mind seeing them again if you're my guide." He thoughtfully and honestly responded, unashamed. He didn't even seem to realize that the comment could be interpreted as flirtatious. But even if it was interpreted that way.... That was how he and Lily acted. They were just that comfortable with each other. And... well, it felt wrong flirting with anyone that wasn't her. "Maybe next summer we can plan on that?"
When she said her name in that way, the way it was technically supposed to be said, he stopped and glanced down at her, an eyebrow raised. He heard that tone in her voice and knew what it meant. She was up to something. They'd stopped just outside the apartment building, Lily directly in front of him and looking up with him with that impish look she always got. What was she going to do..? Part of him prepared for the worst, but another part was curious. She couldn't use her wand, so she was rather limited in her antics. So what was she planning? As she spoke though, his eyebrows dropped back to their normal position and he started to smirk. "Do you want it as a command or a question?" He asked slowly as he took a step closer to her. He didn't really know what he was doing at this point. His mind had shut down, and pure instinct was taking over. He seemed to forget that this was his best friend. That that was all they were, friends. Right now he didn't care. His hand shot out and quickly wrapped around the back of her neck. He pulled Lily to him, and roughly pressed his lips against hers. It wasn't a gentle kiss. No, it was wild, and aggressive, and... them.
When he finally pulled back, he pressed his forehead against hers, his gaze intensely meeting her own. "Kuss mich."
