sunday morning brings the dawn in it's just a restless feeling cornelia had been in the classroom since the crack of dawn, and had promptly sat down at her desk and began editing her lesson plan. advanced history of magic was not based on content, but rather forming an opinion and constructing a judgement based essay, which was why she had merged both 6th and 7th years together for this class, an unconventional yet not unheard of method of teaching. once it was twenty minutes til her class begun, she drew her wand and directed it towards the blackboard, tracing letters midair which transcribed themselves in chalk, revealing the words, ”lesson one: squib rights – right or wrong?”it was her own personal perspective that squibs did not deserve the same rights as wizards and witches, as they did not attain the same magical capabilities – honestly, they were practically muggles! however, this was one opinion out of many, that she was sure her students would bring forward in class. she sat, adjusting the quills and parchment on her desk so that they were perfectly straight, and awaited students to fill her seats. it was the first lesson, therefore she expected some to be tardy, however that would not go without punishment. if a student arrived before the time of 9 o’clock, she mused, house points must be deducted. even detentions, if necessary. anything to teach her students that timeliness was a virtue. |

@arctik2 and class
227 so excited for this!
| It was sometime after seven thirty in the morning by the time Vivian rolled out of bed. Blossom was chirping for her to get up and eventually started jumping on her stomach to finally help her wake up. After a half of hour of morning prep, Vivian was in her robes and Blossom was on her shoulder as they walked to the Great Hall. After breakfast was History of Magic, one of Vivian's favorite classes.
Vivian made her way out of the busy zombie-like Great Hall and towards the classroom. Vivian was a morning person and enjoyed a class that was sometimes considered boring. She made her way into the class and sat in the back, a usual spot for her. Blossom hopped off of her shoulder and sat on the corner of her desk, ready to take a nap for a class like this one.
The lesson regarded Squib Rights. Vivian wrote on the top of her parchment "Squib Rights: Right or Wrong" for the lesson and paused at the title. She came from a pureblood family that took pride in their blood status. If she had a relative that was a squib, she wouldn't know. She jotted a few notes under "Right" and couldn't think of any under "Wrong". She was sure the professor had a reason why Squib Rights were wrong and she waited for an answer.

Elaine wandered into the classroom next and took the seat off to the side as she almost always did. history of Magic was a mixed class for her---some days she liked it. She loved learning about the past and how she could better herself in the here and the now so that those same things did not happen again. And other days she thought the class was the bane of her existence. The topics were so dull or they didn't make any sense. Like the topic they were going to talk about today. She looked up at the blackboard 'Squib rights--right or wrong?' -- what kind of topic was that? Of course they didn't deserve any rights. Some may be pureblood but they had no magic--they might as well be muggle born as far as she was concerned. And they deserved just the same treatment. They didn't deserve to be in this world.
Ohh this was going to be interesting. Very interesting. A lot of teachers preached about equality...they didn't stand for elitist attitudes and supremacist thoughts. The thoughts that she had on a daily basis actually. She didn't think anyone but purebloods had the right to be here. And those who didn't have the right to be here should be removed--whether forcibly or not...permanently or not--well they make that choice -- not her.
She wasn't going to be happy no matter what happened was she? She was either going to lie through her teeth by saying something she did not believe in or she was going to possibly get into trouble for her thoughts--depending on how the teacher was...she could not remember this particular teacher's view on her.
Nope. She wasn't going to be happy. It was going to be one of those days wasn't it? It was. Oh joy....
