rj,
I arrived safely in America yesterday, but only now got the chance to write you a letter. I had hoped that we would start exploring right away, but apparently making camp is more important than finding unicorns or writing to friends. You wouldn't believe some of the sounds here – such odd colors, I've never heard some of them before. I hope that your summer is going well and that you are cooking many, many delicious things. Hope to hear from you soon. sincerely, lysander

Sander,
I'm glad you made it to America safely. Good luck finding your unicorns. Just don't try bringing any home with you! I'm working at the tea shop in Hogsmeade for the summer, and I met this girl there. I accidentally spilled an entire tray of drinks on her and...well, I'll have to tell you about it when you get back. It's a pretty crazy story.
I'm thinking about going to visit Mother soon. It's been far too long since I've had real French bread. And wine. I really miss the wine. Anyway, be safe, and DON'T bring anything with teeth or claws home.
Je t'aime, RJ

rj,
As much as I wish I could, I doubt my mother would let me disturb anything in its natural habitat, even a unicorn. Sometimes we take the smaller beasts in for study, but a unicorn would be much too complex for that, especially with their herd structure.
The tea shop story sounds interesting, but I'd rather hear it now than later – I'm not sure how much time I'll have when I get home before school starts, and I do need to buy my school books and the like. Pretty smooth, spilling the drinks on her, though. I'm sure she was pleased.
I do hope that your visit to your grandmother's house is enjoyable. I've never had wine, but I'm certain by your description that it is certainly a worthwhile beverage. I will try my best to be safe, though I make no promises on bringing things home with me. There must be some animal small enough to smuggle without notice, right?
I'm afraid my knowledge of the French language is limited to bonjour and au revoir, so if you could kindly translate your pre-signature line (je t'aime) for me, I'd be much obliged. America says hello. yours, lysander
