It was getting near the afternoon time on a Saturday September as Alyssa looked up to the clock that was in her office, she quickly shot up from her chair realizing that she had a meeting in ten minutes with young Mr. James Sirius Potter at the Three Broomsticks. She had finally been able to secure an interview with the young man who found the muggle born killed on the train at the start of the term. However; he refused to agree on publication of his answers in the Daily Prophet, saying they would have to talk about it at the meeting. She walked into another room attached to her office, it held a closet complete of an entire wardrobe for her for any kind of an occasion, she picked out a nice flirty kind of looking dress that was red the color of Gryffindor. If I have to seduce 17 year old Potter to get the answers, I will if I need too thought Alyssa walking out of her closet and grabbing her hand bag making her way down to the first level of the Daily Prophet building to the front desk. ”Amy get ready to make special edition, front page news interview with James Sirius Potter! I’ll have the quotes when I get back, MORNING NEWS”shouted Alyssa as she walked out of the door of her office building and in a small crack, she was standing in the center of Hogsmeade Village.
Taking a quick look around she saw a lot of Hogwarts students around the village, meaning they had all just gotten into the village for their field trip. She didn’t see James anywhere in the crowd of students and adults, so she decided to start walking over to the Three Broomsticks. Entering the pub she smiled at the people and waved at a few familiar faces, Alyssa was known around the wizarding world for her position at the Daily Prophet and being part owner. She had won recognition for how she had reformed the Prophet and completely eliminated Ministry influence or any other kind of influence around it. ”Just a butter bear please, thank you” replied Alyssa to a waitress who came over to the table she had taken a seat at. Looking around she smiled at people and pulled out a piece of parchment that changed into a blank template format of the Daily Prophet. She wanted to show James where the interview with him would be placed, right on front page of course this was extraordinary news. She had so many questions to ask him from when he found the body, to the mood of the students at Hogwarts, if he and other students felt secure, oh and of course his thoughts on the new Headmaster and his performance. If only James agreed to have these answers published however, if he did, this would really help show that Alyssa should have full ownership of the Daily Prophet because she could secure the big stories and high profile interviews. Taking a sip from the butter beer she awaited the arrival of the young but, already famous James Sirius Potter.

Life had definitely changed for James since he had discovered the muggleborn girl on the train. Fame and attention, however? That was nothing new.
All his life, James had grown up around spotlights and reporters. He was the son of the Boy Who Lived. The eldest, at that. So obviously he was going to make a few headlines in his days. "Harry & Ginny Potter give birth to first son: James Sirius" or "Harry Potter's son sorted into Gryffindor". Stuff like that. It had been in his father's shadow but James had not minded. Attention was attention. And such headlines were kind of the reason for his inflated ego. He had grown up in a world where everyone had known his name because of who his parents were. James couldn't complain one bit.
But since he had discovered the dead muggleborn, he had been feeling differently. He really didn't like to talk about it. The only person that had managed to even get the slightest bit of information out of him was Alice, and even then he didn't feel entirely comfortable. It had been the first dead body James had ever seen. He was taking it rather harshly. Especially because the girl was so young and a muggleborn to boot. But when Alyssa Nightingale, Editor in Chief and part owner of the Daily Prophet had contacted him by owl, James had promised her a meeting.
Miss Nightingale was no stranger to James. He knew her, of course, because of his father. But the fact that she was reaching out to just him and not another Potter had reeled James in a little more. He had not yet decided whether or not he wanted any of this to be published in the Prophet but he figured he might as well meet with her and give her the information she wanted. Who knows? Maybe she could convince him to have it published. James could always be persuaded with attention.
Hogsmeade was especially busy today, as it was the first weekend for the students. James had really wanted to skip the meeting entirely and walk on over to Honeydukes but he liked Miss Nightingale enough to not want to keep her waiting. So with a sigh, James walked through the front doors to The Three Broomsticks. Immediately he spotted a long haired brunette in a red dress he recognized to be Alyssa Nightingale. James simply sat down in the chair across from her and gave her a weak smile. He wasn't exactly excited to talk about this subject. But he was willing, nonetheless. "Good afternoon, Miss Nightingale," he put on that signature James Potter charm as he greeted her. As the waitress made her way back over to their table, James met her eyes and just shook his head at her. But smiled in thanks. He wasn't in the mood to drink anything.

While waiting for James she had struck up a conversation with another patron at the Three Broomsticks about some of her recent Spotlight weekly articles, mainly the one about Burt Reynolds and his iron fist of power. She was leaning over an talking to a rather plump and small witch and was nodding and had a serious but pleasant look on face as she was intently listening. Her eyes however darted once to the front door of the establishment as it opened to see who had walked in. My date is here…well my front page date thought Alyssa as she gave a smile for turning right back to the woman to address her. ”Trust me I agree very accomplished man but you must agree the Headmaster has a very spotty past and is ruthless in politics to a new degree…but please stop by my office late, I must take this lunch date”said Alyssa patting the woman on the arm who smiled back at her and she once again turned back in time as James Potter sat down in the chair across from her. She gave him a warm smile as he put on the James Potter charm her daughter had told her about since she was still in school. ”Hello James..May I call you James? Thank you for meeting me and it’s finally nice to meet you” said Alyssa giving another smile and extending her hand to shake his.
She had never formally met the young Gryffindor but she did have to agree with her daughter, he was a rather handsome man. She immediately did not want to waste time she did not know how long he would stay for their meeting or what questions he would answer. Truthfully she didn’t even know if he would allow her to publish such answers. She slid a paper across from her which was the blank template of the Daily Prophet a front page of it, highlighted in red was where she wanted a picture of James or something he would approve of, that fit, and the interview with him below it. ”This is where I would like to publish our interview front page, it would be an article on you but an extension of Hogwarts currently through the eyes of a student, you are the best student to use”said Alyssa giving him a small nod. He truly was the best one because it would attract more readers because he was the one who discovered the girl who had been murdered. ”The questions I would like to ask are regarding of course the murder of the girl, Hogwarts currently how the students are adjusting including you of course. I also want to know if you and the students feel safe at the school.”said Alyssa she gave a small smile and leaned back waiting for the response from the young man.

As Miss Nightingale turned to face him, James could see she looked a lot like one of his classmates. He thought she had a daughter but he couldn't quite remember the details correctly. Regardless, Miss Nightingale was a good looking older woman. And had it not been for Aurora, James would probably try to hit on her. But as it were, James had no desire to. And that was a big deal for James Sirius Potter. "James is fine. It is my name, after all," he kept the smile on his face. No doubt this meeting would surely cover topics that would make James frown. Might as well smile while he could.
"It's nice to meet you too," he said, shaking her hand. "Mum talks highly of you, and you're one of the reporters that Dad actually likes." He let out a little laugh, albiet a slightly awkward one. His mother always had spoken highly of the Nightingale family. Ginny worked with Alyssa as the Senior Quidditch Correspondent at the Prophet and obviously Harry knew her because... well, he was a Potter.
James's eyes looked down at the piece of parchment that the reporter slid across the table to him. He saw the highlighted part and then he looked back up at Miss Nightingale. He raised an eyebrow, but a small smirk appeared. "Am I?" He asked, putting his hands behind his head. James knew the motives of Miss Nightingale of course. She wanted information on the murder. James figured it probably couldn't hurt to tell him what he did know... but he had taken it pretty hard... maybe it would help him cope.
Finally James's smirk disappeared and a more serious look crossed his face. "Well, what do you want to know about her?" He asked in regards to the murdered muggleborn girl. He shrugged. "Because I guess Hogwarts is fine... other than a girl being killed, of course," he said passively.

She returned the smile James had right back at him, she was a little more relaxed now. He seemed like a down to earth Potter, like all of them were never really wanting the lime light but they get it anyways. A little chuckle escaped her after what he had said about his parents, and she smiled at it. Alyssa had a good relationship with Ginny James mum. Not only in a working way but, also in a friendship way. She knew Harry did not like many journalists very well, so she took it as an honor that he liked her as a journalist, it was a sort of Potter stamp approval. She took the parchment back from him as he slid it back over to her and put it to the side until, after the interview was over. Removing a red quill from her bag along with some pieces of parchment she tapped the quill a couple times before it stood right up on its own ready to right. ”The quill will right your answers down when you give them, don’t worry you can ready over the notes and everything at the end” said Alyssa giving a warm smile, she wanted to make sure James didn’t think she was trying to take advantage of him. She also did not want to damage any friendship she had with his mum over an interview.
She gave his smirk back with a smirk of her own and a little laugh with a nod in that he was the best person to get the answers from. She leaned back and a serious look came on her face when he started speak about the murder and asked what she wanted to know. Despite the serious look she had, her face still was pleasant in a sort of way to make sure the young Gryffindor still felt comfortable to speak to her. ”Well I guess first off, had you seen her before on the train before you discovered her body? Where did you find her exactly as well?” asked Alyssa as she speaked, the quill also wrote down the questions that she had said to him. This was just the start of her questions, and another one was already forming on the tip of her tongue when he said Hogwarts seemed to be fine despite the killing. Really? thought Alyssa wondering if it truly was. ”So do the students, even yourself feel safe at Hogwarts or do you think a killing could happen actually at the school this time?” asked Alyssa the quill once again writing the questions as she sipped on her drink waiting for James response.

Alyssa Nightingale wrote honest and respectable articles. James would often read the Prophet some mornings after his father, if James was awake by eight, that is. He had read some of her work and had never heard anything bad about her, especially from his mother, Ginny. And James supposed that if his parents liked and trusted her, so did he. When Miss Nightingale said he would be able to review the notes after the interview, James found himself slowly gaining more respect for her. Lots of reporters were slimeballs who would twist your words around just for a good story. It was nice to see someone who wasn't like that for a change. James gave her a respectful nod in thanks.
Oddly enough, the eldest Potter felt at ease around Miss Nightingale. James looked down at the table in front of him for a moment, thinking back to that day on the train. He had seen the girl before the accident, but only briefly. "Yes," he finally said, looking up at Alyssa. "I saw her getting on the train, saying goodbye to her parents... they looked really proud..." his voice trailed off a bit, but when he realized this he sat up more straight in his chair. "I found her two compartments over from mine. I was in a compartment with my mates, and when the green light..." his voice was more confident, but he simply just stopped when he thought of the light of the killing curse followed by her scream. "I couldn't not go see, ya know? It was my instinct to go help whoever that was... but when I got there, she was alone." The scene played over in his head. "She hadn't even been sitting with anyone." He said slowly. This fact hurt James. The girl was probably so excited to be going to a wizarding school where she would make wizarding friends but...
James looked at Alyssa abruptly at her words. "Hogwarts is safe," he said confidently. "I know this for a fact. After the second war there's no way anyone would even think about breaking its barriers." James firmly believed this. He knew Hogwarts was closely watched by the Ministry and who would dare try to attack with wizards like Professor Longbottom or Professor Reynolds? Them again, James had a strong trust for Reynolds. But boy, how naive James was...
The Potter boy raised an eyebrow at Alyssa and smirked. "Do you have reason to believe otherwise, Miss Nightingale?" He asked her now in return.
