IT'S THE BIG 2 YEARS!!!! I can't believe that ALOHOMORA has been open this long, it's seriously a dream come true! And that is all because of you guys! Y'all mean so much to me! I'm so so happy we can all come together like this and enjoy something like roleplaying and our mutual loves for the world of Harry Potter. There's no other group I'd love to be doing this with! I SERIOUSLY LOVE YOU GUYS.

Anywho, yeah. ALOHOMORA opened during the days of July 1-4 of 2014 and we have come so far!! So to celebrate, for the next few weeks we are going to be doing some fun stuff. In honor of our two year birthday, we will be doing some fun contests/events that all members may participate in for cool prizes! I will save the dirty details for a later post because, trust me guys, this is gonna be fun. So be on the lookout for those posts (and a brand new BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION BOARD under "Site Events") this weekend. I am so excited to show you guys what we have all come up with!


So I know I've been slacking on the OTMs but they are BACK and betta than eva! As you may know, we took the male and female categories and put them down into one group for "character" of the month instead. Other than that, not much as changed with the OTMs. Here are your July 2016 OTMs!!

Alright, so now... we have a big announcement. This took a quite a bit of thinking to decide if we actually wanted to hold such an event on the site or not, given the circumstances our HP world is currently in. Well, we ultimately decided that this particular event would be quite fun to do to hopefully take all of our minds' off of the awful tragedies our world has faced in the past year... Drum roll please...



Sometime in the late 12th or 13th century, a friendly competition between three wizarding schools was founded. The wizardings schools of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Durmstrang Institute, and Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry would select one champion from each school over the age of seventeen to participate in three tasks, known to be quite dangerous. Participants would compete for honor, glory, money, and the Tri-Wizard Cup. Sometime during the 1790's, however, the tournament was abolished due to the high death toll. It would not be revived until the year 1994, the year in which four champions were chosen, one of which was Harry Potter. New rules had been put it place to avoid any accidental deaths, however one champion was still killed by an unfortunate turn of events which had little to nothing to do with the tournament itself. So it was decided that the Tri-Wizard Tournament would, indeed, continue every 15 years. The last tournament occurred in 2009 at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, resulting in a win for Durmstrang Institute. Due to their win, the school in Bulgaria opted to skip their hosting of the tournament this year and it is now once again hosted by Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry.


Alright guys, so basically - you will be allowed, if you would like, to create a student from Beauxbatons or Durmstrang. They must be of 17 years of age because after this year and the tournament, if you would like to keep that character, they will be moved to the "adult" category. Otherwise, they will be deleted if you wish to not keep them.

The staff and I are still working out a ton of details as far as tasks, Headmasters, a game keeper/Barty Crouch type, etc. However, we can tell you with certainty that the only way to enter the tournament is to create a character from that school. You may even create one from each if you would like! Right now, no student will know about this in character. It will not be announced until the students go back to school, and that will be when the champions will be chosen as well. Further down the line, once school starts, we will have a thread for your characters to "enter." It will be a one-post thread in which all seventh years wishing to enter the tournament will be able to post a little oneshot of their character entering their name in the cup. Keep in mind, just because you create a seventh year or Durmstrang/Beauxbaton character does not mean you are entered in the Cup. We will, of course, love some other students from those schools running around just for fun! So do feel free to make some of them just because! (Oh, and two words: Yule. Ball.)
