She loved the way he said it. "Never ever ever." It sounded so sure and certain about that, which was such a relief to her. She knew that she was developing feelings for him, which wasn't necessarily a good thing since her having feelings for guys had a tendency to drive them away for some reason. It was nice to hear him emphatically say he wouldn't be one of those people. Anna shook her head at his question. "That isn't possible," she said without hesitation or needing to think through it at all. She couldn't get tired of him.
He sounded a little nervous when she mentioned the Shrieking Shack and Anna laughed a little. "It's not a big deal," she told him. "It's a house that the villagers used to think was haunted. It's a little ways away from the village, so it's not normally as busy as everywhere else. It does have a nice view of the area though," she informed him. Really, if you wanted peace and quiet in Hogsmeade, the Shrieking Shack was the place to go. "So what do you think?"

Anna didn’t hesitate in saying that she could never tire of Oscar, and that made him feel oddly warm inside. It was nice to know that she liked him as much as he liked her, due to all of the reasons he had previously mulled over. They moved on past that and onto the Shrieking Shack, though, which Oscar was curious to know more about. Anna explained that the villagers used to think the shack was haunted, and Oscar raised his eyebrow. “Why did they think it was haunted? And why do they think it is not haunted now?” These were important questions to ask before going into a potentially-haunted house. Halloween had just passed, and Oscar was not going to get himself messed up in anything paranormal. He already had enough bad luck in his life without adding a ghost to that. When Anna mentioned the view, Oscar snorted. “If I get haunted, I am going to blame you.” He muttered darkly. “But let us go, if the view is so great.” Besides, Anna sounded excited for it, and Oscar didn’t want to disappoint her.

Anna laughed at Oscar's seeming nervousness about the Shrieking Shack. Really, it made sense since he didn't know any better, but it was still funny to her. "Years ago a werewolf went to school here and he went to the Shrieking Shack when he transformed- as a precaution to keep the other students safe, but the villagers heard him when he changed," she explained, hoping that she'd gotten it right, but she wasn't positive. "I think," she added, just in case she was wrong. "Well, it's been silent for years now, so ..." she trailed off, assuming he would understand. "No one goes inside," she told him, "We just go look at it." She laughed again, not able to help herself. Could she make this any more confusing for him? "You won't get haunted," Anna tried to reassure him, even though she was chuckling once more at his statement. She led the way to a path that led to the view of the shack. "See, nothing to worry about," Anna told him with a smirk once the place was in sight. She always liked coming over to look at the Shrieking Shack, though she didn't really have a reason why.

A werewolf went to the school? That sounded spooky. Then again, the Durmstrang Champion was apparently the son of a famous werewolf, and had siblings at Hogwarts, so maybe it was not so surprising that that sort of thing would have happened at Hogwarts. At least the school had taken precautions against the werewolf biting other students – that was good. And knowing that it wasn’t an actual ghost that haunted the shack made Ozzy feel better, too. There was a significantly lower chance of getting haunted if there was nothing to do the haunting. Anna said that there was nothing to worry about, and Oscar looked at her dubiously. Even without the threat of an imminent haunting, the building looked ramshackle, at best. “Are you sure that it will not cave in?” He sounded like a scaredy cat, Oscar knew, but it wasn’t a stretch to call the structural integrity of the building into question, at least in his mind. Anna said no one went in, but considering there were doors and windows ajar, Oscar doubted that. “…So can we go someplace actually haunted?” He asked innocently. Maybe that would give him something else to be scared of.

Oscar was quiet for what seemed like a long time before he asked if the building was going to cave in. Anna's first instinct was to laugh, but she held it back and tipped her head to the side as she looked at the building, trying to see it like he would, like it was her first time. It was shabby and did look like it was about to fall down. She shrugged, remembering the first time she came here. It looked exactly the same then as it does not. "Pretty sure," she said with a smile. "It's looked like that since the first time I saw it and it hasn't fallen down yet," Anna said in explanation. She turned to face him, leaning against the fence as she watched Oscar curiously. "You want to go somewhere that is haunted? I thought you didn't like that idea ..." she trailed off curiously. Why would he want to go somewhere haunted when she had to convince him to come here?

Oscar nodded when Anna explained why she thought the shack wouldn’t cave in. It made sense, he guessed, but if the building was so old, it was going to have to cave eventually. It would be cool to watch that, Oscar mused. Then Anna asked why Oscar wanted to go someplace actually haunted, and he looked away from her. “When I get scared, I just do something scarier.” Oscar said with a shrug. “It makes the first thing seem less scary by comparison.” In the end, Oscar still ended up terrified, but at least he was terrified by something legitimate, instead of something stupid like a not-haunted shack. “If you do not want to, then we can just go back to the castle.” There were ghosts there, too, though Oscar wasn’t sure if it was the presence of ghosts that made a place haunted. Now he was just confusing himself.

Anna didn't expect Oscar's words. He wanted to do something scarier? She smiled curiously, her eyes narrowing as she tried to understand his thought process. Apparently he just wanted to do something scarier, but wouldn't that process just cycle through, with him needing to do something continually scarier until he didn't know what else to do. Still, Anna was oddly interested to see how that turned out. "So what do you have in mind?" she asked curiously, showing that she was in even though she didn't necessarily say it. There wasn't really something much scarier than the Shrieking Shack in Hogsmeade and she was interested to see what he came up with. She shook her head, "No, I want to see it," she told him with a smile.

Oscar shrugged when Anna asked what he had in mind. “I am not the one who lives here.” He pointed out. “So I do not know what other haunted things there are.” He was fairly sure that his history books would have mentioned something if there was something that was horribly haunted, but Oscar would have to double check. “Maybe we can do that later? Different day?” Maybe if he had some time to research, he would be able to find something scarier. Sure, it kind of ruined the point of finding something scarier than the shack in the immediate future, but if Anna didn’t have any ideas, then Ozzy wouldn’t be much help. “And go back to castle now.” He clarified. “If that is okay.” Anna had seemed excited about seeing something haunted, but Oscar wouldn’t be able to deliver.

Anna gave a small smile when he said he didn't live here, that he didn't know what places were haunted and what places weren't. "I mean, there is the Forbidden Forest, but I've never been there before ..." she trailed off for a minute, thinking. "Other than that, I can't think of anything else." She nodded when he suggested they do it a different day. "That sounds good to me," Anna reached over and grabbed his hand, pulling him away from the Shrieking Shack and back towards Hogsmeade. Once they got back there, they could go to school. "Let's go back," she told him with a smile. ---the end--- @oscar
