1:50 p.m.
Cori stared at the clock on the wall of the pub. She had ten minutes to go and already have been here for twenty just waiting. Jonathan, her major crush and ex-boyfriends from a few years back was going to meet her here. His letter, in response to her finally opening up to him, was shocking. To say the least. He had always been incredibly upbeat and sometimes a little too energetic for Coris taste, but she appreciated his enthusiasm. He always made her laugh, which was hard to do with Cori.
As the minutes clicked by she could feel herself getting more and more nervous. What were they going to talk about? Should she give him a hug? She had worn a long sleeve jacket, just in case he was expecting one. They had hugged before, and even that was hard for Cori. She even had worn her short black gloves to cover her hands, in case he wanted to hold them. He'd asked her in the past why she always wore gloves, but she had always made some dumb excuse.
"It's cold in here, don't you think it's cold in here? she used to say. The excuse was so stupid, but she was so embarrassed by her curse that she couldn't tell him the truth.
But she had finally told him, now all she had to do was wait.

Where there's a will, theres a lawyer 2:10 P.M.
Jonathan was in Hogsmeade, but not at The Three Broomsticks, instead of he was exiting Honeyduke's. In one hand he had,a bundle of roses, but not just any roses, they were peach color roses. He remembered that her favorite color was peach from when they were in school and he forgot and got her an orange bundle of roses and then after he gave them to her, he remembered it was peach not orange. In the other hand, Jonathan had a box of chocolates that were in the shape of the Ravenclaw crest. As he approached the Three Broomsticks, he look throught the glass and saw that Coriander had her back to the door. Slowly he aprroached the door and opened it slowly,so that the bell wouldn't go off.'I can not believe that I am actually getting to see her again!' he thought
Once he got into the door, he slowly crept up behind Coriander and placed the chocolates on the table then, he placed the flowers ontop of the chocolates. "Guess who!" he said as he walked to the chair that was empty at the table. He sat down and began to stare into her eyes. "Oh my, you are more gorgeous then when we were younger." he said as he noticed she had worn a jacket and gloves. "Sorry I am late, there was a line at Honeydukes, I forgot how much students love candy. " he laughed.

He was late. Oh gosh, he wasn't coming. Cori tapped her foot quickly as she waited, and waited and waited. After what felt like an eternity, 2:01, she finally stood up. She was leaving There was no way she was going to sit here and be stood up. Especially not be Jonathan. She clenched her hands onto the side of the table and took a few deep breaths before sighing and sitting down again. Of course she was going to wait, she was going to wait hours if she had to. No matter what happened, she had to at least see him, if he ever did show.
Cori tapped her foot as she waited and tried not to think about Jonathan. Their personalities were so different and yet... what did she see in him? She couldn't put it into words but she knew she liked him. She knew she would date him again in a heartbeat. But she still felt so bad about that, about not being able to hold his hand without gloves or kiss him. She shook her head, there was no point in thinking negatively. Just say hi, be nice, be friendly, be warm. Be everything that you are horrible at being, she thought. Truth be told Cori was not the nicest person in the world. She treated people with coldness equal to her ice skin and with distrust. It was mostly a defense mechanism, however, being so cold and ruthless. Jonathan was the only person who acted like he never cared about her attitude. He was the only person who had liked her no matter what.
She jumped when the box of chocolates were placed in front of her and barely even had time to breathe before the flowers were placed on top. "Jonathan, I... woah. Slow down," she leaned away from him, still afraid of him making skin contact. When he sat across from her, she couldn't help but smile a little. That excited look on his face was enough to light up any room, even if the ice queen herself was in it. Cori chuckled nervously as he called her gorgeous. Ever since they said they liked each other after that Quidditch match, he was way more outgoing, abrupt, and honest with her than ever before. Sometimes she did miss the subtly, though.
"You look... good too, Jonathan," she spoke softly, "and it's all right. I understand." Cori looked down at the chocolates.

Where there's a will, theres a lawyer
Jonathan could tell something was wrong in Coriander's voice. 'Oh man,she doens't like it, but what girl doesn't like flowers and chocoloates! Just shut up, Jonathan' he thought as he continuted to stare at her. "Are you ok, Cori?" he asked as he montioned for a waitress to come over. "Do you want anything, Cori" Instead of doing anything else, he just watched the girl and couldn't help like something wrong was in the air.
As the waitress approached, Jonathan ordered his normal Fire Whiskey and ordered what ever Coriander wanted. The waitress took their order and quickly came back with their drinks. Jonathan, took a swig of his drink and laughed. "Is there anything you wanna do or anything you want or need before the day is over?" he asked as he thought about the money that he was saving for a new broomstick.'Ehh, it's worth it' the wizard thought as he put the broomtick in the back of his mind.

"I'm... fine. I'll just take a Butterbeer, please," she nodded towards the waitress with a gentle smile. she wasn't necessarily interested in the food and drink aspect of the pub, more so just in talking with Jon. The waitress left and came back so quickly Cori barely even had time to think about what to say next.
But there he went again, just offering whatever she wanted to her. That was so like him, being such an adult that he knew he had money to spend, but he couldn't have had that much. Cori shrugged at his question and shook her head, "Jonathan, I'm fine." She spoke firmly, as if he was a child who needed their attention brought back to the task at hand.
She took a sip from her butterbeer and watched him drink out of his. She was a little apprehensive on the alcohol issue, especially since her body system was obviously much different from others. Maybe the alcohol would be a lot more damaging to her than to other people because of her curse, she had no idea. "I'm really glad you came out today... I hope I'm not disturbing your work." She said.

Where there's a will, theres a lawyer
Jonathan placed his hand out on the table but quickly tried to make it look like he was swatting a bug away. 'Darn it, Jonathan!' he thought as he grabbed his drink and took another swig. "So tell me all about school! I wanna know everything!" The wizard then began to think about his past with Cori and just gave a huge smile. If anyone, was listening in and noticed him smile, they would have thought he was insane, but it wasn't that. It was more of the fact that he was with the girl that he loved being with in school and now he was with her again.
Rain began coming down and it looked liked it was going to get worse. Memories began to swirl into his head, along with ideas. 'She said she didn't need anything but maybe I will send her a package when she isn't expecting it.Please let us work out this time, I know it will be hard but I think we can make it work' he thought as he downed his drink and waved for another one. As the waitress brought another drink, he placed the drink on the table. Just being around Cori again, made Jonathan speechless and he had no clue what to talk about next.

Cori chuckled as he slammed his hand onto the table, what was that all about? "School is going well, Jonathan, mostly it is just really busy with studying for finals. I'm telling you, you have no idea-" she stopped and smiled, slightly blushing, "Of course you do. You've already done your N.E.W.T.S. Well, it's hard, why didn't you warn me?" She joked. She was surprised at herself, joking so easily. She still felt uncomfortable and shy, but at least she could relate to Jonathan in a way they never could now, discussing her 7th year. "What was it like for you, back then? I mean, I know that's when we were seeing each other but you never let on how difficult your studies were..." You were probably dealing with how difficult it was to be dating me, she thought.
Cori's eyes were drawn to the window where the splattered water smacked against the pane. She sighed, she hadn't even thought about bringing a rain coat or her school cloak. Sure, she had a light jacket on and her gloves, but if she stepped outside she'd be soaked to the bone. Cori looked down at her drink as the silence settled over the two of them. What was he thinking? Did he want an excuse to leave? Should she give it to him? Cori realized she had chosen the worst table seeing as the little wooden chairs where stationed in the middle of the room. Her eyes lingered to a booth in the corner, one that her and Jonathan had sat in before. Back when they were dating.
She decided to take a chance and stood up, drink in hand. "Come with me?" she asked, reaching a gloved hand out to him.

The wizard begin to think about his exams. "Well darlin, I wasn't to worried about it, al I needed to get my job was a good score in Defense and a great score in History of Magic. So everything else was just a way to make me look better. Although, I have seen some people with horrible scores get very good jobs because of the people they know. BUT, it is better to get good scores then count on someone. When I took the exams, we were told not to talk to anyone younger about the exams at all. " he laughed as he watched Coriander put her hand out.
Jonathan shrugged his shoulders and took her hand before having a huge grin on his face. "Where we goin?" he asked all excitedly like a little kid being walked to a candy store. 'Hope she doesn't leave these flowers and candy.' he thought as he took another sip of his drink and stared at Cori. The wizard. didn't notice anything but him and the girl. Really, there was nothing else to worry about, nothing at all.

Cori appreciated him explaining why he never mentioned the difficulty of finals, but she felt as if the comment only needed a nod, so she did not respond. As she stood, Cori glanced down at the flowers and candy on the table. Part of her wanted to leave them there, just in case the lunch meeting didn't go well. But, she sighed and reached down to retrieve the flowers and chocolates and tucked them under her arm. As he took her hand she shrugged at his question, "just a little place we used to talk at often, I think it would make it easier to pretend it's just us. Get some real conversation going." After all, that's why they met up, wasn't it?
Cori led him back to the booth they used to sit in. Often it was him, her, Sean and Ethan all together. I tight little Ravenclaw group, though Cori didn't know the other boys well. She just knew that Sean and Jon were great friends, and so were Sean and Ethan. Sean just bring people together. Cori let go of his hand as they reached the booth and sat down, setting the flowers and chocolates down next to her so that they wouldn't be able to sit closely. She wasn't nearly ready for that.

Jonathan sat down at the booth and immediately, was brought back to the memories. All the laughter, tears, spilled drinks, and arguements that happened in the booth. The times where Coriander and him would spend their time there, not leave and have fun doing it. He looked over to see Coriander pleace the gifts in the chair beside her but shrugged it off, not wanting to bring up why and have an arguement. "Darling, it is just us, no one else. Don't worry about where we sit or memories that we have had here. We will make our own memories in new places. Who knows where, but we will." he grinned as he talked.
The wizard got up from his seat and noticed there were a few empty tables. 'Aww well, I may not be able to touch her skin, but maybe with the gloves and jacket, I will be fine.' he thought as he started to push the tables and chairs away from the booth. Once he finished with that, he looked over at the band in the back and walked over to them. "Hey mates, play something soft and sweet." he said as he noticed their glasses were empty. So, Jonathan slid behind a row of booths so Coriander couldn't see him and he motioned for the bar keep to bring the more glasses. "Now wait till I get over there before you start playing." he laughed before starting to make his way back to the booth.
Once he got to the booth, he placed a hand out. "Wanna dance?" he asked as a soft melody played in the background and people started to look at him.

He was so happy to be with her. Calling her darling and grinning the whole time. Cori smiled a gentle smile, "I know, I know. But I'd like to sit here. Just to get us started. I don't think it's a good idea to jump into something crazy and new right now." I can't handle crazy and new right now, she thought. Her life was hectic. What with the drama going down with Matt, her constant fights with Alice, her best friends Maryns family issues and her awkward experiences with Carcer. Jumping into something right now would just throw her entire life into a crazy spiral, and that was not something she needed right now. She just needed to be with him, to calm down and to have something constant.
Cori was very confused when he started pushing tables around. She knew he was about to do something crazy. Something silly. Something Jonathan. As soon as the music started playing Coris face turned bright red and heated up. Soon he was in front of her, hand extended. Asking her to... dance? Coris eyes widened, "what? Why would we dance here? This isn't a..." she sighed. He was not going to take no for an answer, "if I must." She replied, taking his hand.

The wizard took the girl's hand and smiled. "Well we don't have to, we can not if you want." Jonathan said with a grin. Slowly, Jonathan began to put his hands on Coriander's hips and started to move. "I may have learned a few things here and there." he laughed as he started to step on his own feet but watched out for the girl's. 'I can't believe I am doing this!' he thought before smiling at Coriander.
Slowly he started to dance with the music. "So when are your exams?" he asked so he could try to give her some prep even though he knew she wouldn't need it. 'Oh shut up Jonathan! Just dance' he thought as he looked into the withes eyes and smiled even more.

As Jon offered not to dance, he still pulled her up and started dancing anyway. She felt her blood start to boil and a ringing sound burned her ears. Now he was asking her about exams? She laughed a little as he tripped over his feet, but then remembered how angry she was with him. She pulled away and shoved him off, causing several raised eyebrows to turn her way.
"What is the matter with you? she hissed angrily, pulling at her sleeves to cover her arms even more, "I don't want to dance. I don't like being touched and I-I" She gritted her teeth and turned around, angrily groaning at the ceiling. She was really losing it now. She turned back to face him and pulled her wand out, pointing at him. "How dare you think you can waltz in here, with flowers and chocolate, and act like everythings the same. In my letter I said seeing each other would be best to decided where to go from here. Not seeing each other would be best to start buying gifts and dancing with each other." This was all moving to fast for Cori, and tears started to prick her eyes and freeze against her face as they broke the surface.
"Every body things, "poor Cori the orphan", "poor Cori the snow monster". Well, you know what? I'm just done. With everyone. With you, with school, with Ronan and Carcer and Matt and Alice" she hissed that last word as her worst enemies name came out of her mouth. "How about everybody just stops feeling sorry for me, and leaves me alone!?" She pulled her wand back and marched angrily out the door.
