Vic wasn't sure why Hermione was chuckling for the next few moments. Probably some inside joke she wasn't getting. Vic nodded at Hermiones next words, her own chuckle coming out. "Oh, yes, very much. I just feel bad for all the kids close to the same age. I age no competition," she said. Though, she didn't feel kind of bad that she wasn't part of all the fun in the younger age group. But, she couldn't change it, so she'd long since accepted it.
She nodded when Hermione said there was no more business to discuss, and felt herself relax just a little more. Her aunt asked how she was doing, and her siblings. "They're both doing well now, I think. Lou and Isaac are reckless as ever, but I think they're trying to take my advice and being somewhat cautious... and Dom is doing great, on the outside," she explained, "I think she's still a little... broken. But she'll make it through. We all do."

Hermione laughed at Victoire’s comment. “My dearest niece, you are the Minister of Magic. You have competition all around you, so to have it not coming from your family should be a relief,” she pointed out with a smile. Victoire was the oldest cousin by several years yes, but she was Minister of Magic. She did not face any competition when she had taken the job, but many people were competitive by nature and thought to themselves how they could do a better job than a woman in their twenties. Hermione thought all the nasty gossip was codswallop; if anything Vic had proven herself an able minister who maybe had needed a lesson or two in the romance department. She seemed to have a better grasp on her life now, both personal and professional, and Hermione was very proud.
“If Louis and Zac make it through the year without a months worth of detentions at least I would be very surprised,” Hermione agreed with a laugh. She had hoped her nephew would settle down one day, and perhaps he would; he did have two elder sisters after all, and they both would be sure to have given him plenty of womanly advice as he matured. Her smile fell a little at the comments on Dominique. “I don’t know if I could have continued on if I was in the same situation,” she mused softly, thinking of the poor girl. Shaking her head slightly, Hermione sighed. “I should get back to my desk; I’m still reviewing the comments from the interviews for my replacement so I don’t have to do two jobs at once,” she said with a wry chuckle. She stood up and with just a slight hesitation gave her niece a hug. “You’re doing great Vic,” she whispered in her ear, before taking her leave of the Minister.
