Wesley stepped out onto the Hogwarts Quidditch Pitch, took a deep breath and smiled. It was good to be back. He had graduated eight years ago now, but he could still remember wearing his green and silver Quidditch robes, Quaffle under his arm, racing around the hoops with screaming crowds.  Ah, those were the days.  But now, he was Chaser and Captain of the Wimbourne Wasps, and his heart bled black and yellow.  The other teams representatives would be coming shortly; he knew the Arrows, Puddlemere by his brother and the Falcons would be represented today, looking for fresh blood to join their teams.  Wes specifically was looking for a new Keeper; theirs was looking to retire at the end of this season, and Wes wanted to see what some of the foreign students could show him.  Fortunately, he was friendly with almost everyone on the other teams as many were around his age and had gone to school with him.  And then there was Jade.  With a smile to himself, he crossed his arms, awaiting the Quidditch players both professional and amateur.

So, the time came for the first initial Professional Quidditch trials. The more intensive ones would be in the spring, but the teams were looking for talent already and Dan was more than ready. He arrived on the pitch, dresses fairly casually but still in his quidditch gear to an extent, to make sure that he looked serious about this. It was really the only profession he could see himself doing and, well, it'd be nice to get in one of the teams here in London, considering Irinas job would be here for the most part, at least the offices would be as a cursebreaker.

He never in a million years thought he would be considering a relationship while looking for a team to join. Well, at least not a romantic one. All he wanted for years was to play on a team with Nikolai, and that would still important to him, though he didn't know how long his best friends would be playing for. He didn't want to crush the guys dreams for whatever his future plans were by begging him to stay on the team, that would be silly. Still, he'd be pretty said if Nik stopped playing.

So, here he was, ready to go. He gave the scouts a nod and flew into the air, immediately starting practice with his bat and a bludger with the help of one of the professional scouts.

koda walked onto the pitch at hogwarts and he smiled. it took him back to his school days, the fun he and the team he'd been on playing the games, training, generally having as much fun as they could in the time they were together. he folded his hands over his chest as he crossed the grass to where the rest of the people scouting were standing and he noticed a few students already in the air flying. he watched them as he walked, noting who they were and how their playing was. he was pretty confident in the team he had now, he needed someone to help the talented people not someone who would play differently. well differently was okay, but it had to complement how the team played. he walked over to wes and clapped his hands on his shoulders. "good luck livingston, their all going to want to be arrows" he joked as he moved to stand next to his friend and his eyes took to the skies again and caught sight of a curly haired beater.

Why the hell they chose to scout the seventh years in November was beyond Jade's understanding. It just made no sense to her and put the poor Jamaican in an almost foul mood. But only for one reason. Not because she hated November. Not because she didn't want to come. But because it was freaking cold. Jade was shivering before they even got to the school, even under her multiple layers. The dark skinned girl was bundled up like an Eskimo. Long sleeve shirt, sweater, jacket, winter coat, gloves, and at least three pairs of leggings. How she managed to still move was just as magical and law defying as the world they lived in.

Jade was determined to come though, despite being thoroughly convinced that she was going to freeze to death. A few students were already in the air and she spotted her captain and Wes standing on the ground watching. Ah, Wes. Such an interesting relationship. Keeping her arms crossed tightly to try and save body heat she hurried over to them. "Why did we 'ave ta do dis when it's so cold?!"

Today was the day for tryouts. Nikolai and his team were at the Hogwarts Quidditch Pitch, and as they all walked up, he saw a few other teams there as well. He waved to a few people he knew, and glanced around for Daniel. He knew Dan wanted to be on the Appleby Arrows with him, and he hoped that their Captain found him good enough for it. Nikolai knew Dan was a fantastic Quidditch Player, but he was still nervous for the other students that may show up.

Nikolai stood next to Dakoda and laughed at what he said to Wesley. That could be true, but he wasn't sure how many students would show up. And since there were many teams that were open options, Nikolai was a tad nervous. However, their team was fairly full, which was a pro to all of this. "You ready for this, Dakoda?"

Wes pinched his nose and pretended to wave off an unseen stench. "Bloody hell where did all these Arrows come from?" he mock complained, then laughed heartily. He didn't know Nikolai as well as he knew Dakota and Jade (he didn't know a lot of people as well as he knew her to be fair), but he seemed to be a good guy. He looked up at the skies to see the first student flying around. He seemed to be a good flier, a very good one at that. Wes' focus today was to see who would be Keeper material for the Wasps, but the guy had a Beaters bat in hand.  Still, Wes was never one to just give up easily.  "You guys can stay and chat amongst yourselves, I have work to do," he told them, tapping the side of his nose before kicking up into the air on his broom.  "Hey Kid!  Do you Keep?" he asked the younger man, Quaffle under his arm.

rocco laughed as he heard his brothers comments about the arrows. he walked over to the group and clapped wes on the shoulder as he stopped next to them. "from the same hole you wasps dragged yourselves from" he teased as he turned his head to greet the others players. "nik, nice to see you again" he said as he stepped back from wes and he turned to greet koda, shaking his hand as he grinned at jade. he offered her a wave, she was new but he knew she was the new blood on the arrows team. "nice to meet you too, jade" he said as he bent down to grab his broom from where they had been placed. "lets give these kids a run for their money hey? see what they're made of." he said with a grin as he mounted his broom and kicked off from the ground. he didn't know the pressure they were all going through, the students. he'd been scouted by puddlemere the day he'd graduated. there had been no nervous tryouts for him. he'd been the seeker of his team since he'd joined it, having been told he was the best the captain had seen in a long time, he didn't plan on giving his spot up to anyone else.

Seeing Nik arrived lifted Dan's spirits tenfold, but he didn't wave. He was in the zone at the moment. However, he didn't offer his best friend a big smile. Not long after, @wesley from the Wasps was flying over to him and asking him if he played Keeper. Dan grinned, "I do, in fact. Want to have a go then?" he guessed, tossing his bat to the other person he was working with. They took it away and he flew toward the goal posts. "I'm Daniel, by the way. Daniel Hoh from Durmstrang," he introduced.

Roxy had spent time on presentation before she headed down to the Quidditch Pitch for the professional scouting session. Her hair was held back by a half dozen clips and a ponytail so no strands would escape and get in her way. Her usual Quidditch boots, freshly-cleaned gloves, and stained white pants would serve her well. Her shirt went away from her usual Quidditch gear because she didn't want house or team colours to distract from her play. Instead, she topped it off with a comfy sweater (handmade by Grandma Molly, of course) in black, silver, and gold - distinctive from a distance, perfectly fitted, warm enough to keep off the fall chill.

She knew she probably ought to be nervous, but she wasn't really. She was good enough for a reserve position at least. She practiced hard, flew like she had been on a broom since the womb (true, actually), and professional Quidditch players hadn't been intimidating since she was 5. Add in the fact that pressure or not, she performed consistently, and she knew she'd do just fine.

There were a few people in the air and on the pitch by the time she got there. She recognised most of the faces, either from watching her mum's games or from playing with or against them on the Hogwarts pitch, and smiled. She mounted her broom and took off, doing a couple of quick low laps around the pitch as a warm-up, weaving through the goal posts on either end with quick precise turns before landing again in the middle of the pitch. She picked up a Quaffle and tucked it under her arm before looking over at the pros and asking, "Anyone looking for a Chaser?"

Evelyn was excited. She basically loved any chance to play Quidditch, whether it was practice or a real game and so today was definitely going to be a treat. Recruiting for teams was going on and a bunch of people around her age had been invited. To the extent of her knowledge, the Falcons weren't really looking for any recruits, but what harm was there in going? In the very least she would be able to have some fun and see the talent that would be joining the opponents' teams. That was never a bad thing.

She walked up to the group with a smile and a "Hey everyone" even though the only person there that she really knew was Rocco. Not that anyone else knew that she knew him. She gave him a small nod and then looked at the others, wondering if Dustin was going to show. She watched the others interact in silence. Honestly, she wasn't one to really talk herself up. She preferred to play and let that do the talking for her. That and the fact that Ev still wasn't really used to talking to people. Human interaction wasn't something that she was good at. But she was here and that was a start.

Quidditch tryouts were today and Dastan wasn't nervous. Not really. Still, he wasn't sure how things worked here in England. Probably similarly to how they worked in France, with people coming to see how you could hold your own and then deciding if they wanted you or not. Honestly though, he wasn't sure why he was doing this here. Wasn't his goal to get on a French team? He couldn't make up his mind, but the one thing Dastan was sure of was that it was an excuse to play. And Dastan loved anything and everything that gave him a reason to be in the sky.

He flew around the arena, noticing the big group of people huddling on the ground. They must be scouts. Or representatives from the teams. He hadn't seen any of them at the school, so the one thing he knew for sure was that they weren't students. Dastan would've recognized them if they were. He saw Daniel flying with one of them, but he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. Then he saw a student fly near to the group and figured he might want to do that. Or he could start practicing. He flew to the ground and grabbed a Quaffle, flying to an empty goalpost and signaling one of the airborne scouts to join him. He tossed the Quaffle to them. "Alright, show me what you've got," he challenged, deciding that his goal was to have fun and not pay attention to anyone watching him. He knew he was good, so he just had to do his normal stuff so they could see it. He grinned as he started blocking shots. This was where he was comfortable.

Wes grinned and nodded at Daniel. "Good to meet you Daniel, Wes Livingston, Wimbourne Wasps," he introduced himself as well. The Durmstrang flew to the Quidditch hoops, and Wes looked down towards the ground. He put two fingers between his lips and whistled to get Jade's attention. "Oi! Gorgeous, get on up here to help test this guy for Keeper," he yelled down, then pointed towards the other girl who had joined them. "If you're looking to be a Chaser, come join us," he told her. He turned to Dan with a determined grin. "Might as well test you out against three instead of one on one, you alright with that?" he asked.

Jamie couldn’t remember ever being this nervous about something before, which was stupid. She had done so much with her life already, both good and evil, and she was worrying about something like Quidditch tryouts? Sure, they would determine which teams she got to play for in the future, if she even got to play at all, but if she messed up this time, then in the spring, she could redeem herself, and maybe they would even think better of her for the hard work she put in between then and now. Still, her hands were shaking dangerously as she tightened her uniform, and Jamie couldn’t shake the unsettled feeling in her stomach. Everything bad that anyone had ever said to her when it came to Quidditch was spiraling in her head, comments about how wolves had clumsy paws and how girls couldn’t Chase and Hufflepuffs weren’t good at competition. She was scared, but Jamie was also angry, and that was what she clutched onto as she stepped onto the field, broom in hand. They were already doing something, Jamie didn’t know what, but she felt like she was intruding. She stepped to the sidelines, glancing nervously over to the scouts that were still on the ground, unsure of what they wanted her to do.

A sharp whistle from above caught her attention, and one of the pros called up one of their compatriots and then her to join him. She didn't need to be told twice - she dropped the Quaffle she was holding since he already had one, and took to the sky.

"Roxy Weasley," she said, once she was level with him and the other Chaser - and opposite Dan at the goal hoops, who she knew by sight as Irina's boyfriend, even if they had never actually spoken before. There was something like nerves settling in the pit of her stomach, but that was okay - she could do this.

Jade chuckled at the teasing going on between the different teams. She liked the whole team dynamic in Great Britain. How there was an intense rivalry, but she hadn't seen anything insane like back home yet. Americans tended to get a little crazy when it came to their sports. But they weren't in the height of their season here yet, so they could prove Jade wrong. One of the other players who's name she still didn't know greeted her by name, saying it was nice to meet her. Still shivering she grinned. "Ya know who I am, bu' I don' know yur name ye'." She responded. She hadn't had time to learn all the other Professionals names yet. She knew her team, obviously, and Wes. But the rest? Not so well.

Wes was already in the air, honing in on one of the boys. While she loved flying, she wasn't sure if she wanted to be in the air now when it was so cold. But Wes had other plans, whistling down at her and calling her out on getting in the air. Jade made a face. "Bu' i' 's cold!" She yelled up at him. She shivered again, before scowling. Ugh, he knew she couldn't refuse. Cringing, she pulled her hands from her pocket and unzipping her heavy duty coat. There was no way she could play in it. Shrugging it off, she hissed as the cold penetrated the (in her mind) flimsy jacket underneath (it wasn't flimsy at all.). She didn't stop though, just tossed the coat to the side and grabbed a broom and shot into the air. "Are ya tryin' ta freeze me ou'?" She accused as she came up by Wes and stuck her tongue out at him. Turning in the air to the dark haired girl Wes had called up as well she smiled.
