@louisa <3 Nikolai had just left the apothecary. He had needed to fill up on his potions that had been used, as well as getting a few extra things for Magdalena. This pregnancy wasn't treating her very nicely, and he was trying his best to make it as easy as possible on her. Along with some potions he had made note to get a few books for her on wandlore; being at home wasn't much fun for her as she searched for a new job, and Nikolai assumed that something she enjoyed would help out quite a bit.
The first snowfall had already occured, so there was a bit of slush on the ground. He had his boots on with his dark blue jacket, hair brushed the way it usually was. Nikolai hadn't been shaving very often, a nice beard now growing in. He only had one more store to stop at, but first he wanted a hot coffee. A small cart was right outside of the apothecary and he stopped, quickly getting a to go cup and turning to walk down the cobblestone path. He was paying plenty of attention to the ground as not to slip, and didn't see a familiar face watching him from only a few feet away.

Louisa had been out doing some Christmas shopping for her family, or at least trying. It was always so hard to know what to get them. Oh, her father was easy. Anything from the magical world would entertain him since he was a muggle. Her mother was a little harder, but not to bad. It was Daniel that was the tricky one. She'd stopped in several shops so far and still didn't have the faintest idea of what to get her brother as she tucked her parents' gifts, wrapped in brown paper, under her arms. She was out on the street now, trying to decide where to stop next in her fruitless search when she spotted someone that would single handedly be able to help her solve problem.
Her brother's best friend, Nikolai Krum.
The oldest Krum, Nikolai was the closest in age to Louisa. She hadn't been able to see him at the Hospital after he was injured, but he'd had enough people around then. Her presence hadn't been needed. So this was the first time she'd seen him since.... heaven forbid how long had it been since she'd seen him? "Nikolai." She called out, having to raise her voice above it's usual whisper to ensure he'd hear her. To most people it was a normal volume, but for anyone that knew Louisa, it was practically a yell, to get their attention. After calling out his name she crossed the short distance between them and smiled. "You look well.... You're so tall now." She was pretty sure the last time she'd seen her brother's best friend she'd been taller then him. Now he towered over her. It really had been far to long since she saw him.

@louisa <3 As Nikolai took a sip of the coffee he had just bought, he heard a voice. A very familiar voice, in fact. So familiar, that Nikolai knew exactly who it was before looking up. He knew exactly who it was, a person he hadn't seen in a long time, since he had been a child really. This person, was his long time childhood crush, and he suddenly became very nervous. Coughing, Nikolai glanced up, seeing her.
Louisa Hoh.
Daniel's older sister had always been around when they were children, running around making a ruckus. In fact, Nikolai wasn't sure when the last time he had seen Louisa was; all he knew was that he was obsessed with her and now that they were grown adults it was all just incredibly awkward. She closed the distance between them and as he glanced down at her beautiful face he grinned sheepishly. "Hi Loui....a few years does that to a person, you know?" Nikolai's voice cracked at his last two words. Goodness he was making a fool out of himself.

Louisa must have surprised him, considering that cough. Despite growing up together she didn't feel like she'd spent much time with Nikolai. Him and Daniel had always been together. Getting into trouble. Even back then Louisa had been a shocking chill and mellow child. She'd never been one for playing outside, or running, or climbing, or anything athletic. Basically she'd been the one watching her brother and Nikolai run around but never joined in. His sheepish smile made her own widen just a bit. "It has been quite a while, hasn't it?" She somehow missed the cracking in his voice, her own voice back to it's usual whisper. "Daniel said you're playing Quidditch professionally now. Congratulations." She added. Of course she knew nothing about Quidditch, despite her parents, and his, professions. All of their parents were athletes of some sort. Even Daniel was wanting to play professionally after graduation. Despite that, she still didn't even know the basics of the game. Sports just didn't interest her. But she could appreciate the amount of work that went into it.
Shifting the packages under her arms a little, she tucked her hair behind her ears. "Say, Nikolai. Could you help me with something?" She asked, finally getting to the problem he would hopefully help her solve. "I can't decide what to get Daniel for Christmas. Do you have any ideas of what he might like?"

@louisa <3 Nikolai's sheepish grin stayed in place, didn't move, didn't change, just stayed at Louisa spoke. Well, this was getting worse. As he stared at her, he didn't know what to say. His thoughts of her and his past obsession just kept popping up, and he felt incredibly bad about it, considering Magdalena. But it was just a childhood crush right? Nothing more, only less. "It has yes. I'm-I'm the, the seeker for the Appleby Arrows."
Louisa then questioned what to get Daniel for Christmas, and he smiled somewhat normally this time. He was definitely having some issues getting gifts for his sisters now that they were all getting older unfortunately, but Nikolai knew Daniel like the back of his hand. "I'd definitely say something that has to do with Quidditch...have you gone into Quality Quidditch Supplies yet, Loui?" His eyebrows went up and he pointed down the road to where the store was. So far, so good. He was calm, and was acting as normal as possible, but his eyes were still fairly wide.

Louisa really didn't know her Quidditch, but she assumed the Appleby Arrows must be a good team. She could still remember Nikolai's father teaching the game to Nikolai and Daniel when they were little. She'd never joined, just watched as the young boys flew around, trying to learn the basics of the game. Even though she'd never understood it she'd loved to see their smiles and just see how much joy flying had brought them. "Isn't that the position your father played?" She asked. She at least knew that much about Quidditch, she'd heard the stories enough growing up to remember that.
It seemed their whole conversation was about Quidditch, because he said Dan would like something Quidditch. Louisa blinked. Of course, she should have thought of that. Wasn't Dan wanting to play professionally as well? She vaguely remembered hearing something about him playing for some scouts. "Of course, I should have thought of that..." She mused thoughtfully. But what Quidditch related? She knew absolutely nothing about the sport Nikolai and Daniel loved. His question on if she'd been there yet got a head shake in response. "No, not yet." She tilted her head as she looked at the shop he had pointed out. Just the front reminded her how little she understood sports, or even what would be an adequate gift. "Would you like to pick something out for him with me? I've never been good at sports, or even understanding them. With my luck I'd pick something he couldn't even use." She smiled warmly.

@louisa <3 Nikolai nodded, but wasn't very excited at the mention of his father. As of late, Nikolai had a lot he didn't tell him, well, not too much...just a big thing that was growing inside of his girlfriend. Shaking his head quickly, his cheeks turning a bright red, he forced a grin. "Yes, it is. Figured as his only son I'd follow in his footsteps, yeah?" It wasn't what he wanted to do of course, but he did it anyways. Mostly to see how happy it made both of his parents, no matter how unhappy it made Nikolai himself.
Louisa mentioned how she should have thought of that and he held up his hands as to mention for her not to be too upset about it. "Don't worry. Sometimes I have no idea what to get my sister's. I am a boy, and I haven't got any brothers. The closest I've got is Dan, so he's incredibly easy for me to choose presents for." Nikolai watched as Louisa thought for a moment, and he looked down at her with a small smile. She asked if he'd like to go with her, and he felt his whole neck start to burn with embarrassment. Goodness this was not what he had thought his day out was going to be like. "Uh-I-ah, yeah sure." Nikolai immediately looked away from her and began walking, drinking his coffee to hope he wouldn't have to talk much.

Louisa tilted her head a touch as he said he figured he'd follow in his fathers footsteps. Well, there was something behind that, she was sure. Just because she wasn't best friends with the Krum's didn't mean she didn't know them. She'd watched them all grow up. She knew when there was more to a story then they were saying. "Well, as long as you are happy, that's what's important." She finally stated, deciding it was best not to push the subject.
That's right. Nikolai had three younger sisters. It was one of the reasons him and Dan had gotten along so well when they were little, neither of them had brothers of their own so they'd just attached to each other. "If you need any help finding presents for your sisters, I'll be more then happy to help." She could already think of a few ideas for the girls. He hesitated for a moment, before finally agreeing to help her. Louisa smiled a little more, and fell into step beside him, keeping a respectful distance as she always did. "Thank you." She meant it. At least now she'd be able to get something Dan could use. "So, how have you been since you graduated? Besides Quidditch, how is everything?"

@louisa <3 When Louisa spoke, Nikolai could tell her tone was different. Not that he minded, but he knew some people could tell he wasn't completely happy playing Quidditch. He enjoyed it, but he also tried his hardest to not talk about his career and his choice in flying. Niko was too nervous that someday it might get back to his parents and there may be a chance they'll be angry with him. So when she commented as long as he was happy, he narrowed his eyes slightly at her, but nodded and didn't say another word.
"That's very much appreciated, Louisa." He hoped he'd be able to find something easy enough for the three of them. Ripley and Irina were probably the easiest to buy gifts for as Nikolai felt like he knew them the most. His parents and his other sister would probably be a bit more difficult. They weren't too far from the store when Louisa asked him how everything else was and he laughed awkwardly and a bit too loudly. "Uh-everything's good.I bought my own house."

Despite knowing Nikolai well enough to tell when something was off, she somehow seemed oblivious to the fact that he was nervous and awkward. Maybe it was because she was so used to the behavior. He'd always been so awkward around her, ever since he was little. She thought absolutely nothing of the behavior. Didn't even realize that it was 'off', because that was just normal for him. If she had noticed it, she would have been puzzled, and totally not understood why.
Balancing the already purchased presents in one hand, she tucked a loose strange of blonde hair behind her ears before glancing back at him as they walked. "A house? That's quite the investment." She answered with that same unwavering and calm town. "Somewhere out in the country, I'd hope? You have always enjoyed your own space." Ever since he was six. Lousa still remembered when she noticed the change in his behavior. When he'd grown distant with everyone. "Have you been able to spend much time with Daniel while he's here? I'm sure you already know about him and Irina. Anyone special in your life?" It was a bombardment of questions, and her voice never wavered. Honestly, it'd been so long since she'd seen him that she didn't know too much about his life other then playing Quidditch. You couldn't blame her for being curious.

@louisa <3 Nikolai was glad Louisa was not aware of his complete change in behavior. Normally, he had, well...quite the attitude. But when it came to Louisa, Nikolai was mush. Sort of liked mashed potatoes, warm, fluffy, mush. She made him feel as if she was part Veela. Of course, she wasn't. But hey, your first ever crush tends to put you in such a spot, correct? And when it came to Louisa, Nikolai was sure she'd ask him about it and then he'd probably become a stuttering mess, worse than what he was naturally around her.
"It-it is, yes. I-ah, It's in the country. Very nice." He smiled at her, his eyes twitching slightly. Nikolai of course noticed her mention of him wanting to have his own space. If she had said it in a different tone that wasn't so Louisa, he would've questioned her on it. But she was old enough to realize the change in him more than the other children, especially where they were all either younger than Nikolai or not around as much. Himself and Louisa were the oldest, even with her being quite a few years older than he. "S-some time. Not much, I'd like more, but like yo-you said, he's with Irina a lot." Nikolai forced a small grin and then she asked about someone special, and immediately Magdalena appeared in his brain. His smile became genuine, and he nodded. "Yes, I do. Her name's Magdalena."

Louisa just smiled as Nikolai reaffirmed what she'd guessed. Of course. She'd never have considered him to be the sort to live in the city. To loud. To many people. Personally, Louisa wasn't a fan of all the noise and people either, but it didn't disturb her too much because she was quite good at tuning out background noise. "That's nice."
They'd reached the store by that time, and stepped through the door. It was like stepping into another world for Louisa. Her gaze lifted, and wandered, taking in all the equipment, and it was obviously that she had absolutely no idea what any of this was really for. Completely Quidditch illiterate. "It surprised me a little when I heard they were together, but they were always teasing each other so much growing up... I supposed at least one of our parents hoped something might grow out of it." She softly remarked as she kept looking, not knowing where the best place to start would be. Her gaze returned to Nikolai just in time to see that pure smile of his. Her own responded. "She must make you happy." she noted. It wasn't often she'd seen that smile, after all.

@louisa <3 Once they walked into the store, Nikolai grabbed a small basket and led Louisa down some of the aisles, pointing and explaining what certain items were. He knew she might not understand, but he tried anyways. And if there was anything she felt stuck out or Dan would find useful, then she'd somewhat be able to explain what it was. Louisa brought up Daniel and Irina, and Nikolai's expression changed slightly but quickly went back to a forced smile. "It definitely surprised me too." Nikolai's voice was a bit bitter there, and he tuned out her saying that she supposed one of their parents hoped it would happen. Nikolai definitely didn't. "She does...I've never met anyone like her before."

Everything Nikolai was saying about Quidditch was in one ear and out the other. Honestly it made little sense to her, so she was grateful for his assistance. She never would have been able to get something for her brother without Nikolai. Her expression, thankfully didn't give away her confusion at the stores contents. Her gaze flickered back to Nikolai as he responded, hearing the slight bite to his words. She raised an eyebrow. If she didn't know better it sounded as if he wasn't happy about it. Well... He was Irina's brother. He was bound to be protective, just like Louisa was bound to be protective of Daniel. She wouldn't question him about it though, not unless he wanted to talk about it. And if he did, he'd bring it up himself.
Never met anyone like her? Louisa stopped, turning to look at him with a knowing smile. "You're in love." She noted thoughtfully. It was obvious. She'd known Nikolai his entire life. And she'd never seen that look before. A look she'd seen between her parents, and between his parents. "Did you go to school with her?"

@louisa <3 He was incredibly glad Louisa didn't push the issue on Daniel and Irina. If she had, he might've just blown up, giving her the worst possible thing Dan could need for Quidditch. But, even so, Nikolai didn't think he could do that to him. Forcing a smile, he glanced up and down, grabbing a few things. "Well, it depends on how much you really want to spend. You could get a lot of little things, or one or two big things for the same price. It's up to you, Louisa."
He finally looked back at her, and the stuttering reappeared at her comment. Nikolai's face became stone cold straight, no emotion. His face blushed a deep red as he stared at his best friend's sister. "I-I ah..." Nikolai bit his lip, and just shook his head. He wasn't answering. Which was okay, because she technically didn't ask him a question. "I di-did, yes. Didn't know her then though. Met her this past Summer."
