It had been a long day and an even longer night for Tom. He had been working since yesterday morning, and he found himself in an all too familiar place, Hogsmeade. As he walked along the deserted streets, many memories flashed before his eyes. Most of them were about the times that he and his friends had spent in Hogsmeade. Both during, Hogsmeade weekends, and also after sneaking out, and most times they came in through the cellar of Honeydukes. What fun times those were. As he rounded a corner he saw that there was still a light on in The Three Broomsticks. Which was odd since it was normally closed at this hour, granted it was a pub. But still the only one that stayed open twenty-four hours was the Hog’s Head. It was almost one in the morning. It was probably nothing but Tom decided to go and check it out as his training kicked in.
Once he got to the door of the pub he pushed it open, and was surprised to find that it was open. Well if nothing bad was going on he might just see if whoever was still there wouldn’t mind one more patron tonight. Upon entering he found that the place was empty, well almost empty since he could hear someone in the back room moving things around. Most likely taking inventory of what they had. Tom knew that Sophie, one of his best friends was the owner of the Three Broomsticks now so it might be her or it could just be one of her employees.
“So what does someone have to do to get a drink and some food around here?” Tom asked loudly so whoever was in the back would know that he was there. While he waited he made his way over to the bar and sat down on one of the stools. And took a look around the place and noticed that it really hadn’t changed all that much since the last time he had been in here. Which just so happened to be about a year and a half ago.

Sophie had decided to come in for the late shift tonight. She had to take inventory at the end of the night after closing and she didn't want to over extend herself. She would be pretty tired opening up in the morning tomorrow but she thought it would be worth it if she could get all of the inventory finished. So when she walked into the Three Broomsticks today, she had her bartenders greet her and she smiled and headed back to her office so she could work on the schedule for next week. She would leave the bartenders to do their job and would take over for them when their shift was over. To work today, she wore nothing special, just ripped jeans and a heather grey tank top, and her blonde hair was pulled up into a poofy, loose bun.
As the night wore on, she was tending the bar for the better portion of her night. She had her regulars of course, but she also had some students who had decided to come out for a butterbeer. Her main student crowd would be tomorrow afternoon, but she didn't mind that some of them came out early. She used to sneak out early with her friends back when she was a student at Hogwarts. She didn't ever tell on them, though she knew they weren't supposed to be out at this time. When she scooted all of the students out at 10:30, it slowed down. Technically, she started keeping herself open later on the weekends so she could make a little bit of extra cash with her night crowds. But tonight no one stayed past 11:45 so she started her inventory, though keeping her doors open in case anyone wanted a drink until 2 am. If no one wanted anything this whole time, she'd be able to finish early and leave after she closed up.
So as she was counting the liquor bottles in the back room, well half counting and half organizing, she kept pushing thick strands of blonde hair away from her face, when she heard from the front of the house, “So what does someone have to do to get a drink and some food around here?” Her ears perked up as if hearing an old voice talking to her from the past. The boys used to say that when they whole group of them came in during their years at Hogwarts. Walking around the corner, she smirked when she saw her schoolmate and friend, Thomas Sharpe. "Tom!" She walked up to the part of the bar that he was at and leaned against it, giving him a bit of a smile. She pushed her hair back once more. "All you have to do is ask, and you shall receive. What can I get you Tom?" She blushed slightly but hoped he wouldn't notice. He had quite grown into himself. She remembered the super skinny, lanky boy with the frizzy, curly hair who didn't quite fit in his own body. He was quite the gentleman now, and it threw her off guard.

"All you have to do is ask, and you shall receive. What can I get you Tom?" Tom smiled when an all too familiar face come out of the back. He could see the blush appear on her cheeks as she spoke. “It is good to see you again Sophie.” He said as he thought about maybe teasing her in a friendly manner about the blush but he could tell that there was something more to it. Tom decided to let it go, well at least for now. He also noticed how beautiful Sophie had become since the last time he saw her, even though she wasn’t wearing anything special. “Hmm so I could ask you anything you will either get it for me?” Tom asked in a teasing manner. “But if you wouldn’t mind, could you please get me a butterbeer?” He asked for he had never really liked fire whiskey or else he would have ordered it.
Tom had always liked Sophie and she was a great friend but as he looked at her he felt something deep down inside that he had never felt before. It was something new and different for Tom and to be honest he felt a little confused at how he was feeling. “So how have you been since last time?” He asked thinking about the last time that all of their friends had gotten together and hung out. Tom couldn’t help but wonder what she had been up to this past year or so. And as he waited he was still trying to make heads or tails of how he was feeling at the moment.

Sophie smiled at her friend endearingly, rolling her eyes as she realized she said she would give him whatever she asked for. What a foolish almost schoolgirl like move. She knew her friends well enough to know that they were still boys and had the other boys been here, that joke would have been taken way out of proportion. But it didn't seem to phase Tom, at least not from her perspective. “It is good to see you again Sophie She smiled and she pulled out two glasses, one for herself and one for him. She saw him studying her and she was thrown off a bit. They both seemed to be the reserved ones in the group, the rest of her friends taking the reigns. Without them here, she almost wondered what direction this would take. Part of her felt like she needed her security blanket, aka Walt here, but she had to just remind herself, this is Tom, he's safe to talk to... "It's good to see you, Tom."
“Hmm so I could ask you anything you will either get it for me?” And there was the teasing. Let it begin. Hopefully it would not continue rolling downhill, however, because Soph had a bit of a mouth on her, though she didn't like to use her snappy retorts on her friends... often. She liked to keep her friends around and willing to come back and see her, especially since she had hidden herself away in Hogsmeade, while most of them went on into the Ministry. Still, she rolled her eyes at his comment, and gave him a bit of a smirk. “But if you wouldn’t mind, could you please get me a butterbeer?” She turned toward the spouts and poured two butterbeers, then scooting one towards Tom. "There you go, bottoms up." She smiled and then drank her own.
Looking around for a moment, she wondered if she was to be expecting the rest of the gang, but she didn't see anyone else walking down the streets of Hogsmeade, nor should she at this time of night. Tom brought her back to this conversation, however, when he said, “So how have you been since last time?” She pulled up a barstool of her own, and plopped down, her elbows clunking sort of clumsily on the bar top. "I've been living the life, you know. Hogsmeade is where you make the big bucks." She gave him a large, toothy grin to let him know she was clearly joking, as if it was not audibly aware with her sarcastic tone. "I mean things have been fine. I'm taking on more responsibility since becoming owner, therefore why I am here when nobody else is." She ran her hand comfortably through her blonde locks. "Should we be expecting any other friends to be joining us? Or did you just miss me that much?"

"There you go, bottoms up." Tom smiled a little before he took the glass and raised it up a little as if giving a toast. “Thanks.” He said as he took a drink, the cool liquid felt good as it went down his throat. It had been a while since he had seen Sophie, but he was going to enjoy this time that they had together, no matter how long it was. Tom chuckled a little bit as he watched Sophie look around, most likely seeing if the rest of their friends would be showing up. "I've been living the life, you know. Hogsmeade is where you make the big bucks." He couldn’t help himself as he laughed at the sarcastic tone she had used. “Ah the rich life of Hogsmeade.” He teased her. It was a little odd since he usually wasn’t the one to start the teasing but seeing as how neither Walton or Dorian were here, it just felt natural to do so. But it was all in good fun. “That makes perfect sense then as to why you are here this late at night.” Tom said as he listened to Sophie talk, but as he turned his head towards her he practically stopped for a second as that same feeling returned that he had before when he first saw Sophie earlier. And that happened all because he watched as Sophie ran a hand through her hair.
Tom shook his head a little to bring himself back to reality. "Should we be expecting any other friends to be joining us? Or did you just miss me that much?" He smirked, as he thought of an answer to that question. He was going to have some fun in giving Sophie an answer. “Nope it’s just us this time. And plus I missed you way too much.” Tom answered in a playful tone. It was definitely weird, this whole conversation but he knew that it was going to be quiet interesting, since they didn’t have their friends there. Sure they had gotten along just fine in the past but those feelings he was having now were proving to be quite a challenge for him. He had to figure out what they were or who they were directed at. Tom already knew who the feelings were directed towards but he just couldn’t admit it yet.
“So besides living the life here in Hogsmeade, what else have you been up to besides work?” Tom asked Sophie before he took another drink. He was starting to enjoy himself, and actually being able to take a break from work was most definitely nice. But no what made his night so far was this opportunity to be with Sophie and to possibly catch up with each other.

“Ah the rich life of Hogsmeade.” She heard his teasing tone and she raised her glass to take a drink of her own butterbeer. She was considering getting out a pint if he stayed past the first drink. She really was done working tonight. Friendship always ruined any working ambition that she had for the rest of the night, as sad as that might sound. She just didn't get to see her friends much lately and so she pushed everything aside and procrastination ensued. “That makes perfect sense then as to why you are here this late at night.” She raised her eyebrows and took another sip before placing down her glass and saying, "Well I don't really trust anyone else to be here by themselves."
She picked up her glass again, when then he responded to her bantering comment with, “Nope it’s just us this time. And plus I missed you way too much.” She blushed again, and then reached out and lightly hit his arm, teasing him. "You're such a liar, Tom." She rolled her eyes. She knew he didn't miss her that much. Maybe if Walt had said it, since he was like a big brother to her, but Tom? Did Tom really miss her? She stood up and started heading toward the door. "Just gonna lock the door. Keep away any unwanted patrons." She flipped the deadbolt to lock the front door. As if a wand couldn't blast that door open anyway...
Finishing her butterbeer, Sophie tossed the glass in her dirty glass bucket. There were a few odd plates and three or four glasses that she had yet to wash. She usually left it for last because she hated washing dishes. She had enough dishes to do at home without doing them here as well. She then grabbed her self a beer bottle before sitting back down and popping the top using the edge of the bar. She took a sip and set it down where the butter beer once was. “So besides living the life here in Hogsmeade, what else have you been up to besides work?” She tilted her head. Most of her day was filled with work; she didn't have time for much else. "Work has kept me pretty busy. I guess I've been reading a lot lately. I'm trying to get through all the things that wizards read when they're kids since I wasn't raised by wizards." Just some crackhead muggle, she thought. "But what about you? You keep deflecting attention to me. What have you been up to?" @tom

Tom could not take his eyes off of Sophie as they started up the conversation. He had always found it rude to not look at those that you were talking to, but no what held his vision was the simple fact that he was cared for Sophie in a different matter altogether. It didn’t take away the bond of friendship that they had between them, rather it just made him look at her differently. "You're such a liar, Tom." He laughed a little bit as he heard Sophie call him a liar in a teasing tone when he had said that he missed her. Well it was the truth he had missed her a lot lately, and now that he thought about it that was what drove him to stop by the Three Broomsticks tonight instead of just going home. “And just how am I a liar?” Tom asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Just gonna lock the door. Keep away any unwanted patrons." Tom watched as Sophie went ahead and locked the door, the lock wouldn’t hold against a wand blasting it open. If that happened he would be ready for anything, which he already was. He downed his butterbeer and then pointed his wand at the glass to refill it. Tom looked around for a few seconds as Sophie came back over to where he sat. "But what about you? You keep deflecting attention to me. What have you been up to?" Those few questions made him laugh upon hearing them. “Come now. Sophie you are a more interesting person than I am. I mean come on you get to live the life here in Hogsmeade.” He took a drink from his glass. “But if you really want to know what I have been up to then I guess it wouldn’t hurt to tell you.”
He had paused for a few seconds debating as to what he could tell her. “I really haven’t been doing a whole to lot since I have had a lot of work and almost no time for a break. And when I have had my own time well let us just say that I have been doing some work for one Harry Potter and other people and leave it at that.” He really couldn’t tell her what he was doing, which bugged him but he also had been tasked with asking if she would help and be a part of the Order of the Phoenix. “So besides work and reading what else has been going on in your life?” Tom asked trying to steer the conversation away from what he had just told Sophie. He just hoped that it worked.
