The Yule Ball was the closest thing that Parvati had ever experienced to traveling back in time. With the Great Hall expanded to accommodate the students and staff of Hogwarts, the two foreign schools' delegations, and the Ministry workers, it was a sight to behold. Although she hadn't participated after the Champions had begun their traditional waltz, she could still recall how she had had to steer Harry Potter around the floor. She really did hope that, for Ginny's sake, he had taken some lessons at some point over the past thirty years, though Parvati wasn't willing to bet money on it.
Thanking her lucky stars for not having run into her ex-husband at any point in the evening, Parvati was glad that she wouldn't need to find an excuse to go to the bar for some liquid luck of the non-Felix Felicis variety. She had spent most of her time so far in taking in the atmosphere, watching as others relished the night. It was quite something to see everyone so dressed up. Students who normally walked around with their shirts untucked and ties loose had somehow smartened up their looks, and even Neville looked dashing.
As for herself, Parvati hadn't intended to wear a set of dress robes that hearkened back to the ones she had worn at fourteen, yet the anarkali suit that she had chosen for the occasion was a muted pink. She didn't want her look to be too flashy, though she liked what she had put together. The focus needed to be on the Triwizard Champions.
Standing near enough to the bar that the Age Line was enough of a deterrent for most of the students, aside from the ones who were actually old enough to drink and a few more who thought that they would try to be clever and attempt to bypass it regardless, Parvati was in mostly adult company. Looking around at the room, she let out a nostalgic sigh. Maybe it was better that she didn't actually have a date, since he couldn't ignore her.
