@optimus <3 "Stage acting, mostly. That's how he met my mother, actually." She smiled. Her mother had always had a love for plays, and she'd go to them as often as she wanted. That was one of their first dates, going to a play that her father actually didn't lead in. He was a wonderful actor, and still is, but his old age was catching up to him and with her mother gone, he just didn't have the ambition to do anything she loved anymore.
David's cheeks turned red and Rachel gasped slightly, putting her hand on his shoulder. "Oh I'm sorry, David! You haven't got to be embarrassed, I was just curious." She laughed quietly, smiling at him as he went on to explain. "That's it? Well, if that's the case, then I'll have to dance with you all night! You can't stay by the snack table, a handsome guy like you needs to have just as much enjoyment as anyone else here."

"I've always loved the theater. Though I've never really been to a play in years."
When Rachel put a hand on his shoulder, he felt a little better. It was nice to know that she cared about him not wanting to be embarrassed. She really was a good friend to him. When she mentioned that she'll be doing her best to make sure he didn't stand next to the snack table, and that she'd be dancing with him all night, he couldn't help but feel a little excited. He couldn't believe that a woman as beautiful as Rachel was willing to spend that much time with him. His cheeks turned a shade of red when she called him handsome. He knew he wasn't the most attractive man alive, but he never thought he was handsome.
"Thanks. I think you're beautiful to." He said, trying not to feel nervous.

@optimus <3 "You should! They're a great way to get away from the world and put yourself into another." She smiled sweetly. It was like a book, but live in front of you. You read another world, watched another world, and they were always so captivating to her. And to see her father in many of them made them all the better. Rachel's hand had slowly slipped from David's shoulder and when she glanced back up at him, she realized how red his face had gotten. Oh, he was so sheepish!
Rachel laughed quietly, but smiled genuinely at him as he complimented her back. "That's very sweet of you, David, thank you." Her hand grabbed a glass of punch and she playfully let her shoulder hit his arm. "Why the blush?"
