The hands on the clock were turning slowly as he waited outside the Minister’s house for him; he was to escort the Minister to the Ministry and then go down to the Auror’s office. His eyes started at the muggle watch he was wearing and he paced a little bit on the marble stairs leading to the front door of the Minister’s manor. Hurry up idiot…I have several meetings to attend to thought Argus as he shaked his head and looked up to the sky with a pleading look on his face. He had set up meetings with several Senior Aurors to discuss possible promotions to the Advanced Guard unit. He had finally got the green light from his superiors that he could expand the unit and take on more members. Plus he had several that would be retiring near the end of the month or so, and he would need to replace those ones. The Minister finally came out and Argus gave a nod and side apperated with him to the Ministry Atrium. He stuck close to the Minister as they walked to a lift, his eyes scanning the crowd like always he was on full alert all the time that was his job.
Finally he reached the Minister’s office and left him with other guards before making his way down to the Auror’s office. He entered a small conference room and pulled out his wand and waved it around casting a few protection charms around the room, and privacy wards as well to make sure no one could hear conversations within it. It went by like an hour as he interviewed a few Aurors of senior level in the office about advancing to the AG, some he liked, most he didn’t. As the last one left he looked down on his paperwork and discovered he had another Auror listed. Samuel Lockhart, son of Gildeory Lockhart the big fake. However; this man was talented from what he had seen and heard of him. He had met and talked with the man briefly before but, did not know him that well. He got up and walked out the door and motioned to one of his fellow guards, stationed outside the room, ”Samuel Lockhart next please” said Argus before sitting back at his chair. He waited as the guard would find Samuel in the office and bring him to Argus; these meetings were of completely surprise. He slowly looked over the file of the man who had been an Auror for nearly eight years now, close to almost a Senior Auror. It was time to see if the man held any interest in a position that Argus was offering, most could not live with the responsibility. He leaned back in his chair as he waited for the man to arrive but he kept the man’s file in his hand still reading through it like a newspaper.

` SAMUEL LOCKHART: 701 . @argus The discovery of the girl on the Hogwarts Express had been enough to send the auror office into a frenzy. It had been something that the eldest son of Harry Potter had discovered, something that changed all of the peace that had been in the world. In the opinion of Rita Skeeter, the peace had lasted for too long. Something was bound to happen sooner or later just as history showed after a period of peace. Being the son of Rita and Gilderoy, Sam had the same appeal to the news. His desire to know anything about everything was what made him last so long as an auror. It was a job that his mother had never agreed with, since he helped her as a child with reading articles. She thought for sure that he would have taken after her and used his skills learned as a member of the Ravenclaw house, for something more productive in the world. Like notifying everyone in the world of what was going on, at all times. Not following that path, Sam took his own path in following through with auror training. He had the guidance of one of his professors to help him prepare him for the training thus he was accepted into the auror program at the age of eighteen. It wasn't until he was twenty one that he was no longer in training as an auror, but able to fully take on all the responsibilities of an auror. There was also some doubt about his abilities as first, thanks largely to the attitude held about his father, who had faked all of his achievements through the use of memory charms. It wasn't until the aurors had seen what he was capable of, that they would come to respect him. Being one of the younger aurors in training, some had their predictions that he used memory charms on others. With seven years having passed, Sam had now become one of the older aurors in the office. He was respected for having been through so much as an auror that he had been asked to meet for a possible chance at being part of the Advanced Guard. It was something that very few people made it into and only something that senior aurors would have made it into. The thought of being a senior auror made Sam feel that he was getting older to the point where soon, he'd be like Mad Eye Moody in the office. It was something that made him proud of himself to the point where he wanted to share the news with his mother though decided against it since she had the biggest mouth or rather, biggest quill of them all. Sam had been waiting outside of the office, waiting for the interview that he had been asked to go to. Sam wore a black suit with a tie, something that he mostly wore since he was never a fan of wizard robes as much as the more fashionable suit and tie. Rather than sitting down in the chair provided outside the office, he was leaning against the wall, watching the events occurring down the hall. Two high profile ministry workers were talking with one another, discussing the girl's death yet again. He wasn't as bad as his mother with gossip, but he was certainly drawn to overhearing any conversations. Sam was quite skilled at reading lips, a skill quite useful when looking for someone in particular that the auror office was looking for. A guard walked out of the office, requesting for him to come into the office at last. When the guard had appeared, he had taken his attention off of the conversation and followed the man inside the office where Argus Diamond was. They had talked once before though neither of them knew each other well enough to really judge the other. Now the interview was a question of whether the man saw the last name and determined his skills based on that or if it would be a serious interview. Sam sat down in the chair across from Argus just as the guard had left the room. Argus was reading his file like a newspaper.

The man’s last name ‘Lockhart’ was not a factor in any decision Argus would make if the guy was to be a member of the Advanced Guard. He did not expect the man was anything like in his father in being a fake; the man did have real talent from what he had observed and what the man’s superiors had observed as well. His file read very well indeed, highlighted many instances where he had excelled in certain areas, areas that proved useful as a member of the AG. He put the file down as the man who was Samuel Lockhart walked into the room and sat down as soon as he did; the guard closed the door and stood outside it. He nodded the man but, gave him no smile this was a professional setting not one of personal friendships. He kept the file open as he flipped to the front of the page with the basic information of the man including an update Ministry file picture of him. ”Samuel Finn Lockhart, son of Rita Skeeter and Gildeory Lockhart, correct?” asked Argus looking up the file to glance at the man before him before looking back down to the file.
Clearing his throat he adjusted himself in his seat and stared at the man in front of him for a minute or so studying him. ”Mr. Lockhart I am sure you are aware this is a meeting for a possible position for a member of the Advanced Guard, before I go any further I must warn you anything you mention inside this room is confidential information of the Ministry, speaking on it outside to anyone even your superior will be considered an act of treason”said Argus his voice was rather blunt when he spoke. Emotion was void from his face and his eyes were stone cold stare on the younger man in front of him. Now it was to see if this man was able to go any further in this interview, to see if he would have the stomach for this job, or Argus would cut the interview right now. ”The advanced guard is to protect the Minister and the other top officials of the Ministry at all costs; you take a killing curse for them. We are to protect the Ministry itself from all threats, we are the ones who stop the coup from happening again…I tell you this because this position requires you ready to die for the Ministry in order to protect it and it’s officials as well as our wizarding community…can you handle this Mr. Lockhart?”spoke Argus his tone was flat and straight forward. His eyes were locked on Samuel studying his every move as he had spoke, and would do the same thing when the man would start speaking. This was all part of the process, seeing how well the man could handle himself.
