She can be a bit awkward, and she never really knows what to say. She just kind of says things that are sometimes hit or miss. If you can overlook that then you'll find this sweet little critter lover is actually pretty adorable. She's an excellent friend once she's comfortable with someone, the only thing is that it takes a bit of effort for her to reach that level of comfort with people. She can be a bit cautious when it comes to making friends and usually becomes quite protective of the ones she does have.
She can have a bit of a temper and is quite stubborn. She doesn't like being told she's wrong even if she is actually wrong on something. Emmeline hates bullies and often tries to stick up for younger children because she can remember what it was like to be afraid and bullied. Emmy is slowly starting to open up to people more and she's starting to grow into more of a confident and brave woman over the timid scared child she used to be.

history:
"I'm so sorry. I need to take care of your mother and your siblings. Please, please forgive me. I love you." He looks down at the infant with a sad smile and hands her over to a hooded woman with dark hair that falls in curls around her shoulders.
"Aye, it's for the best. I think Jacqueline will be happy with this purchase. I trust that you've carried out your side of the bargain?" the brunette arches an eyebrow at the small man who shifts under her scrutinizing stare.
"Yes. Sophie will wake and think she lost her. I've planted the same false memories into the rest of the kids."
"Good." She smiles and drops her gaze down to the small infant in her arms, " I think it's better that we cut ties now..." her voice trails off and she lifts her wand up. "Obliviate."
---"Emmeline Rose Thatcher! You best be on your best behavior this afternoon," the dark haired woman's voice sounds strained as if she's nervous about something. "I don't think you want to test my patience again, do you?" this time her voice is louder and Emmeline closes her eyes, her thoughts going back to the last time she'd angered lady Jacqueline. Her mind quickly filling with images of the big yellow and purple bruises that had been on her sides and arms.
"I'll be good. I promise." She nods her head and looks at her shoes, wiggling them as she feels a hand smoothing down her hair.
"There's a good girl. Now run along and get washed up. We need to look presentable for when the guests arrive..." Emmeline nods her head and quietly makes her way upstairs into one of the bathrooms.
Her mouth twitches as she catches a quick glimpse of bright blonde locks in the doorway. "Lady Charlotte, I'm sorry... I didn't know if you were using this bathroom..." she quickly steps out of the way, but freezes as she hears what sounds like a giggle.
"So... I'm a lady now?" the blonde wiggles her eyebrows and Emmeline feels her cheeks heat up. "I don't need to use the bathroom. I just wanted to ask what you were doing in here... I couldn't help but notice that you looked concerned."
"Oh... I'm supposed to be getting ready for guests. I mean, I'm trying to get ready for the guests. I just don't know what to do with myself..." the corners of her mouth fall into a frown and she bites her bottom lip. Quickly lifting her bright blue eyes up to Charlotte's face as the blonde offers to help her prepare for the guests. "I'd appreciate the help. I'm complete rubbish at this whole looking presentable thing. Thank you." She nodded her head slowly and her mouth formed a small cautious smile.
---Emmeline chews on her lip and slowly steps towards the stool with the large sorting hat. She tries to hold her head up high and lift her chin like she'd seen charlotte do multiple times when lady Jacqueline was getting angry, but instead she finds herself trembling.
The hat is placed on her head and the world is swallowed by darkness. "Ahhh... Yes... I can see great potential in you... You will grow to do great things in RAVENCLAW!" she flinches and looks over at the ravenclaw table as the hat is lifted off of her head. It surprises her to see that some of the children there are smiling and others are cheering. Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad after all.
---She looks into the mirror and frowns at the woman staring back at her. It's hard for her to believe that in the past two months she'd turned sixteen. "I'm sixteen and lady Jacqueline has been trying to find me a suitable husband... It scares me to think of what she might find "suitable". A knock on the door startles her and she jumps with a squeak. "Just one second... don't come in." She bends down and snatches her top, quickly pulling it over her head as the door squeaks open.
Emmeline flails her arms and quickly tries to push them through the sleeves, blushing as she hears someone apologize and explain that he'd hadn't meant to walk in on her while she was changing. "You're a boy?" she blushes at how silly that must've sounded and continues struggling with her top.
"You're a girl?" he sounds like he's laughing at her and she realizes with a frustrated sigh that she's standing in front of a boy half naked.
"No... I'm just a dude with boobs. Can you please help me with my shirt?" she doesn't quite know why she snaps at him or why she speaks to him so sarcastically and she quickly apologizes. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spoken to you in such a manner... it's just a little embarrassing and I'm stuck and I can't see you. I can only hear your voice and..." she bits down on her lip quickly and swallows as she feels someone tugging on her shirt.
She blinks up at him and feels her cheeks heating up as her gaze focuses in on a boy with blond curly hair and bright blue eyes. "I... uhhh... I should probably... It was nice meeting you." she made a small waving motion with her hand then quickly hurried out of the bathroom, ignoring the sting of tears and the heat in her cheeks.
---"Emmy, wake up, we need to go now." She opens her eyes to see charlotte looking down at her with wide green eyes. "Did she do this too you?" In the slowly fading haze of sleep, Emmeline looks down to where charlotte is pointing and registers the large bruises that are on her sides and legs.
"I provoked her..." she starts saying, unsure of what she's saying, "it's my fault."
"Emmeline, don't you dare think this is your fault. We are leaving this place... We can run away together." It almost hurts to see how hopeful charlotte looks as if she actually believes that they'll be able to get away without being noticed.
It happens in a blur of colours and lights and the two girls find themselves standing outside of a small store. Emmeline blinks and tries to find something familiar about her surroundings but the only thing that she recognizes is charlotte's face through the dark. She follows the girl until they reach a pub, where charlotte fits in among the girls clad in tight revealing clothes and Emmeline finds herself crossing her arms in front of her chest in a modest attempt at covering herself.
"I got us a place to stay the night..." Charlotte says with a big grin as she taps Emmeline on the shoulder. Emmeline turns around slightly startled and then looks up to find a familiar face, with his blonde hair and blue eyes.
"We've got more than enough room... Your... uhh... sister? She explained the situation... I can understand family issues. I'm sure my parents will be just as understanding."
---It was stressful staying with the Hawthorne family but somehow they made it work. Emmeline helped out around the house and occasionally entertained the young children by singing them a song or playing on the piano or guitar. It wasn't until Jacqueline found them that things started to go array. Charlotte hadn't told the Hawthorne family about the abuse that had gone on in Jacqueline's house and it was a shock for many when Emmeline's name got mentioned during the discussion.
Emmy was welcomed into the Hawthorne family and Charlotte moved away from their house after a couple weeks. Emmeline however stayed with the Hawthorne family. She felt safe there and she didn't feel afraid that one of them might lash out at her or hex her. She's trying to open up to more people now but still struggles with who she trusts and who she lets into her life.
