Will was not very amused right now. This was obviously clear as he gave his friend from the house of the lion a 'you got to be kidding me?!' kind of look as they had made their way to the Quidditch pitch. Ronan was another real close friend--someone Will knew would never judge him just because he couldn't see or hear like he could. But that didn't stop Will from thinking Ronan was a tad insane here.
It was becoming more and more clear as they went onward why the Gryffindor hadn't told him what they were doing. He had asked Will a couple of days ago if he would be free on Saturday and of course he was. And so Ronan said he wanted to show him something. He failed to mention that said thing involved a broom and possibly flying. And of course now that they were on their way to the pitch--Will wasn't about to back down. It wasn't that he was afraid of being labeled a chicken--it was just that Ronan seemed so darn bound and determined to show him that a broom wasn't all that bad--that Will had little desire to fight against that.
"I don't fly man." Will protested as they finally got to where they were going, "I've never flown before. Not even when I was supposed to be taking first year flying. I just--" he tensed up as he stopped mid-sentence. He was nervous about flying. Scared almost. Okay so yes he was scared. There was no almost here. He always had been and probably always would be. It wasn't that the broom itself was terrifying--it was the flying part. He didn't fly. He wasn't made for flying. He wasn’t graceful in any way, he had no idea what he was doing, his senses weren't all there and it just didn’t seem plausible!
Oh but something told him he would on that silly thing by the end of the day. The sixth year sighed softly as he tried to think of some other protest. But the protests he had – had already been said. He stammered for a moment trying to think of words before he spoke out again,
”I’m not sure if this is a good idea.”

As they walked towards the pitch Ronan could tell that Will was nervous about flying and if he didn’t know better he would say that he was scared. He hadn’t told his friend what they would be doing only that he would see in good time. "I don't fly man…I've never flown before. Not even when I was supposed to be taking first year flying. I just--" And there are the excuses that he knew were going to come sooner or later from the Hufflepuff’s mouth. “Of course you don’t fly, the broom does that.” Ronan said in a deadpan tone that clearly stated fact and was also said in a teasing manner.
“Don’t worry by the end of today we will have you flying around like a pro, it really isn’t that hard.” Once inside the pitch he whistled loudly and his broom along with a broom that he had borrowed from a friend came flying out of the locker room and stopped before them, hovering in place. Flying was easy and every one could do it but first they had to conquer their fear of flying or whatever it was that was holding them back. “Will, there is nothing to be afraid of. It is just a broom but before we begin we are going to figure out why it is that you don’t like flying. So tell me what are you afraid of that is holding you back from enjoying something as wonderful as flying?”
”Of course it is a good idea my friend. Why wouldn’t it be?” He asked Will, while looking at the boy. Ronan was the last one out of the group of people who had tried to get Will to fly, but he knew that he would succeed where the others had not.

Of course you don't fly...the broom does that for you...
ahah....very funny wise guy. Will couldn't help but roll his eyes at the other. He knew good and darn well what Will had meant. They had been down this road before--several times. It seemed as if all of their mutual friends were determined to get him to fly on a broom. He couldn't understand why they wanted him to fly so darn bad. He was perfectly fine with being a spectator. He was very good at that. And cheering for his friends too. But actually getting on one? No. He just--no. He put his proverbial foot (and maybe his literal one too) down on that one. It just wasn't something he was comfortable with nor did he think he was ever going to be comfortable with. And now he had to put up with (lovingly of course in the most platonic way possible) his friends trying to convince him that getting on a broom would end in something other then him being led to the hospital wing.
Will sighed with a soft grumble under his breath as the brooms appeared before them. He shifted uneasily from one foot to the other and actually took a step backwards and away from the broom. The farther he was from that menace to his health as far as he was concerned -- the better. Ronan was so darn confident that this was going to work and Will on the other hand--was not. He was the exact opposite of confident right now. As a matter of fact--he was almost sure that this WASN'T going to work! Ronan asked him why he was so scared and Will rolled his eyes once again as he gave his friend a 'really?' kind of look,
"Awh come on man! I'm not able bodied to fly! I'm half blind and half deaf and with all of the graces of a teaspoon. Putting me on that thing is going to get someone hurt." he protested and odds are the one who would get hurt was him. Normally Will was someone who wasn't going to let his disability stop him from doing anything, anytime or anywhere. But--they said there was always the exception to a rule and flying was the exception to his rule. He just--no...just no. It wasn't happening. Not yesterday -- not today---not tomorrow---not ever...

"Awh come on man! I'm not able bodied to fly! I'm half blind and half deaf and with all of the graces of a teaspoon. Putting me on that thing is going to get someone hurt." Ronan chuckled at his friend, of course they had been down this road before, but that statement made Ronan even more determined than he was before. “Oh what is this, rolling your eyes at me…again?” He asked in a joking tone. “Come on man there has been nothing that has ever stopped you from proving to yourself and others that you can do the same things even though you are half blind and half deaf. That has never stopped you before. So what is stopping you this time?” Ronan needed to know what it was that was preventing Will from flying.
Ronan looked around before saying. “Take a look around there is no one else out here besides us Will. If someone gets hurt it will probably be me so you have nothing to worry about, and plus the nurses in the hospital wing love seeing me….okay I take that back I think they adore me or something, with how much time I have spent there over the past years.” Ronan was making fun of himself even though it was far from the truth, it was true the nurses loved him but they did not like to see him injured which he had not spent a single minute in the hospital wing at all this term but that probably wouldn’t last for much longer.
He just had to wait now and see if Will would tell him what was up and why he did not want to fly, or rather what was stopping him from doing something. In his opinion Ronan thought that Will should have been put in Gryffindor for how the kid handled things every day.
