Irina shook her head and laugh. “You may want to run that one by your lover Adrian,” she said teasingly, not helping herself by laughing again at the idea of Adrian and Lily, middle aged and starting to go grey, with the likely heap loads of children running around like wild animals, and her parents having to deal with it all. She sort of doubted that Adrian would want to be living with the Potters for the rest of his life; though he was as stoic as a wall sometimes when it came to his relationship with Lily, Irina was sure he’d rather them have somewhere with just the two of them to live when they were ready. “You are certainly a wild animal,” she agreed, giggling as the drying process finally was adequate enough. Lily was definitely the most outgoing, adventurous and carefree friend she had, which was why she had turned to Lily to get her out of her funk. Irina watched as Lily popped more chocolate into her mouth and she couldn’t help but smile. “People who don’t like chocolate are strange,” she agreed, though she knew that some had an allergy or intolerance to chocolate; she didn’t really see the need to bring something like that up though. She watched as Lily levitated the bit of chocolate that was left up and over the lake and took a step closer to the edge. Peering over, she could definitely see something moving under the surface, but it appeared the squid was just as stubborn as her friend. “This might be a battle of wills,” she commented, chuckling a bit to herself. lily luna potter

Lily grinned as Irina labeled Adrian as her lover. That was a little too secretive sounding for her tastes. She didn’t really care who knew. If they had a problem they could bring it up to her and she would set them straight. “He can deal,” Lily reasoned. Honestly, Adrian was good at going with the flow. Mostly to the tune of her command, but hey, who wouldn’t want to do that? Adrian knew exactly what he was getting into, and if he wanted something a different way he probably wouldn’t hold back in telling her. At least she didn’t think he would. That was something she needed to have a little chat about. Criticism never killed her, so he needed to be aware that he was allowed to give it to her. “As I’m supposed to be. Only wild animals would run into freezing cold water trying to feed a giant squid chocolate.” That and crazy people. She liked to think she had a little smidge of both. It kept things interesting.
“Strange indeed!” she yelled over her shoulder as she finished her plod right up to the edge of the water. The chocolate was moved further out over the water, bobbing up and down. Hopefully it was enticing enough to get the squid’s attention. Things had been botched earlier, and Lily wasn’t going to back down just because of that. Irina moved closer to her, laughing that nothing had happened yet. “Patience is a virtue dear Irina.” That was a scary phrase coming out of her mouth, seeing as she could barely sit still half the time. “If he decides to be a meany, the chocolate is all mine. He’s had plenty of chances already today.” Lily also didn’t want to stand out by the water all afternoon. Even though she had done a decent job drying her clothes off, she was still cold from being soaked through. That much couldn’t be fixed through magic. “Hurry up!” She yelled impatiently, stomping one foot in the process.

Irina's eyebrows raised as she tried not to laugh out loud at Lily's patience quip. Coming from Lily it sounded foreign, like she was speaking Mandarian or Hindi instead of English. "Do you even know what patience really is Lil?" Irina asked her friend teasingly. She supposed she must have at least an ounce of patience, for her and Adrian didn't become a couple until MONTHS (years really) after they should have, and she hadn't gone off to find someone else in the meantime. "Well when it's January and freezing outside, Mr. Squid needs to learn punctuality," she pointed out, feeling a shiver ripple through her body as a chilly wind whipped through the breeze. She knew it was typically breezier by the water, but this was quickly becoming less fun.
With a sudden splash, Irina shrieked and took a few steps back before falling down right on her backside as a large tentacle shot out of the water, grabbed the chocolate and slid back beneath the glassy surface. Irina looked up at her friend and just started to laugh. Pretty soon the tears were streaming down her face as she found it a little difficult to breathe. Finally, after minutes had passed, Irinas' laughs mostly subsided, with the occasional hiccup and giggle. "Well...guess he wanted the chocolate," she managed to get out, before dissolving into another fit of giggles.

Lily rolled her eyes dramatically at Irina. “Of course I know what patients are. Doctors have them. Duh,” she said with a little wave of her hand to the side. “Who do you think I am?” Hopefully that was worthy of a face palm on Irina’s end. Lily liked word play if the option presented itself, and the other Gryffindor had practically walked right into that one. In her defense, Irina should have known better. Like, everyone knew that. “I’d get him a wrist-watch, but I don’t think giant squids have wrists…” The mental picture of that put a grin across her face. If only she could put a watch on a squid’s tentacles. First she had to get the darn thing to take the chocolate from her. Once that was down, then she could try and wrangle it long enough to slap a watch around it. What a sight that would be…
Lost in her thoughts, Lily barely had time to react as a tentacle whipped out from under the water and snatched away the remaining chocolate, covering her in a fine spray of lake mist. If she had thought the water was cold earlier, having warmed up only to be blasted with it again was not what she wanted to do. Irina seemed to have been taken off guard as well, because now she was on the ground and laughing. Lily couldn’t help herself, joining in, though her laughing was more at the fact that Irina had fallen on the ground. Throwing her hands up in the air, she yelled a string of incoherent words and sounds that only made sense to her. Probably had something to do with the sudden surge of energy she had gotten from the squid finally taking the chocolate from her. “Told you didn’t I? He’s my second favorite pet at Hogwarts,” Lily sighed contentedly as she stared off across the lake, a few ripples still splashing towards the shore. “Second to Adrian, of course.” Snapping her head back to her friend, she skipped over and offered out her hand to help Irina up. “Well that made my day. I think it’s time for dinner now.”
