koda was glad he'd convinced sarah to let him and ophelia watch seb for the night. she had to go do something, koda hadn't asked what, if he was being honest he didn't want to know any of what his younger sister got up to, but any time he got to spend with his nephew was good. he figured between him and callisto they could give seb some normalcy. that wasn't to say he thought sarah was a bad mother, quite the contrary actually. he knew she loved seb and would do anything to keep him safe but the stability at times was rocky. he grinned as he lay on the floor with the toddler, toys spread out over the entire span of his living room. seb has his own room upstairs, it was hard for koda to resist spoiling him. he was getting better but the want to give the kid what he asked for was strong. which explained why the cupboards upstairs were overflowing with toys. which would actually come in handy when his and ophie's baby was born. he reached out to help seb stack blocks and he chuckled when his little hands reached out to knock the tower over. "clever." he said as he gathered them up and started stacking them up in a different pattern.

Ophelia would be lying if she said she hadn’t been nervous to watch Koda’s nephew Seb. It wasn’t just because being around Sarah made her a little nervous, though that was certainly true. Koda’s sister had more than embraced her werewolf side of life and it just made her nerves jangle. Then there was the whole ‘watching a toddler’ thing. Ophelia certainly had been around children before, but nobody had exactly left a child in her sole care before. She had been trying to embrace that side of motherhood; feeling her child squirm around in her belly did make her want to be wholly prepared for when he or she arrived. So here she was with Koda, watching as he would stack up the blocks and Seb would knock them down. She held a mug of green tea in between her hands; although her morning sickness had mostly subsided, she had felt a bit queasy that particular day. She chuckled as Koda began to rebuild the block tower in a different pattern. “Our child is going to have you wrapped around their finger, aren’t they?” she asked him, smiling. @dakota

“Our child is going to have you wrapped around their finger, aren’t they?” koda looked up from the pile of blocks that seb was having fun knocking down with his hands and he grinned. he shifted his legs and pushed his hands into the ground under him and he looked at seb again. "build them up again bud." he said as he got up onto his knees and he reached out to ruffle the kids dark hair gently before standing up and cracking his back. he raised his hands above his head to stretch out as he crossed the small distance between where him and seb had been playing and where ophelia was sitting and he settled next to her, his arm moving to wrap around her back carefully. "oh without a doubt. i'm going to be wrapped around their finger. he's got me wrapped around three of his." he said with a chuckle as he watched seb sitting playing with the blocks. "no different to my own dad really. we could usually get around him, usually." he said with a chuckle as he leaned back into the couch and settled there, content for the moment.

Ophelia leaned into Koda automatically as he wrapped an arm around her waist; the baby growing in her belly was always calmer as if he or she sensed their fathers' presence nearby. "Well hopefully not too wrapped around their finger, there still need to be boundaries," she chided playfully, nudging him gently. She rested a hand on her bulging belly and smiled softly. Her own parents had had very differently; her mother had been a free spirit, one believing strongly of destiny and fate. Then there was her father; rigid and stern in his rules, but still a loving man, showing it at the most vulnerable times. "My father certainly wouldn't let Seb get away with half of what you let him do; he's a stern man that one," she said, her grin widening. "Though, he loves his children more than anything else. He showed that when my mother died," she said softly. She leaned her head against his shoulder and sighed. "I just wish my mother were here to meet her grandchild," she whispered, a stray tear gently trailing down her cheek. @dakota

"Well hopefully not too wrapped around their finger, there still need to be boundaries," he rolled his eyes and grinned sideways at her. his kid could be wrapped around his finger but that didn't mean he'd let him or her get away with everything. at least he hoped it wouldn't. it wasn't as if he had experience with his own children, just his nephew and he was figuring on it being a little different. "My father certainly wouldn't let Seb get away with half of what you let him do; he's a stern man that one," he let out a laugh and turned to look at her. "i don't let him get away with that much. he's a well behaved kid." he said, nudging her back slightly. "Though, he loves his children more than anything else. He showed that when my mother died," he wrapped his arm more around her when she started talking about her mother. he knew she still got emotional and there was nothing wrong with that. "I just wish my mother were here to meet her grandchild," he nodded slightly and he lifted his finger to brush it over her cheek, running his finger down to her jaw and he looked at her. "so do i." he said softly as he leaned his forehead against the side of her head. "but we'll tell him or her all about your mother." he said as he shifted slightly to accommodate seb, the toddler having tired of playing with his blocks and had crawled on all fours to the couch and was climbing between them. "here's trouble." he said with a smile as he shifted back slightly, wrapping his arm around seb's waist to pull him onto his lap so he couldn't fall off the couch while climbing up.

Ophelia conceded that fact; Seb was relatively well-behaved for a two year old. She wondered if their child would be this quiet and well-mannered with them. From what she knew from Sarah, she was a bit wild. Not like Mina wild but...feral wild. She was a werewolf like Dakota, and at least to her knowledge Sarah was raising Seb as a single mother. She couldn’t remember when she had last seen his younger sister; Hogwarts perhaps? She had been expelled after Ophelia had graduated, and had dropped Seb off before she had gotten there today. Instinctively she put a hand on her belly and sighed a little. “My mum is here in spirit, I know she’s watching over me and our child,” she told him promptly, and their baby kicked as though in agreement.
Ophelia laughed as Seb crawled over to them and was pulling himself up. “He is sweet,” she said, smiling as the toddler put his hands on her belly. “There’s a baby in there Seb!” she cooed at him, and he patted her belly twice. Ophelia had no idea if he understood what she had said or not (highly unlikely) but it still made her a laugh. “I think it’s time for a snack,” she declared, standing up and heading over to the kitchen. “Did Sarah leave any kind of dietary restrictions for Seb?” she asked as she began to rummage through the cupboards.

“My mum is here in spirit, I know she’s watching over me and our child,” he smiled slightly and nodded a little, resting his own hand over hers as they sat together on the couch. it was a nice thought, that someone would be there watching down on their child. "and you know my mother will love them more than enough .. probably drown the child in it." he said with a smile as he kissed the side of her head before shifting back to accommodate seb on the couch. he hadn't been trying to say that his mother would love their child anymore than ophelia's mother would have just that the child would know more than enough love in it's life. “He is sweet,” he grinned a little and brushed some of seb's hair off his forehead and he nodded slightly. "he gets that from us male wulfes." he joked. two of his sisters weren't known for their sweetness, but that was okay. he didn't think he'd know what to do with sisters that were sweet. “There’s a baby in there Seb!” he watched as seb touched her belly and he chuckled a little. "it's going to be your cousin." he said as he watched seb sit back on the couch and look at ophelia quizzically. “I think it’s time for a snack,” he nodded in agreement and made to stand up from the couch too, reaching back and lifting seb up into his arms, stopping for a second when his nephew pressed his head into his neck. he hugged him a little tighter as he walked into the kitchen after ophelia. “Did Sarah leave any kind of dietary restrictions for Seb?” he shrugged a little and shook his head. "he's not allergic to anything, so i'll feed him pretty much anything kids can eat. she's never minded in the past." he said as he leaned his hip against the counter, slipping his hand under seb's shirt to rest it on his back for a second. "he's starting to feel a bit warm."

Ophelia nodded once when Koda confirmed Seb had no allergies or dietary restrictions that Sarah had told him; she of course was sure that the Wulfe sister cared about her son more than anything in the world. If he had any sort of allergy, she’d know and be sure to tell whoever was caring for him. “Let’s do an array to keep him happy, I’m thinking banana, some graham crackers, and a bit of vanilla yogurt. Balanced with a little bit of sweetness added to the mix!” she exclaimed as she bustled around the kitchen getting everything ready. She stopped though when Dakota mentioned Seb was begininng to feel warm. “He is?” she asked worriedly. She crossed over and gently put her hand on Sebs forehead; the toddler pulled away but Ophelia definitely noticed a warmth that hadn’t been there before. “Okay, right. We can handle this, I mean if this was our child we’d have to handle this anyway,” Ophelia began, trying not to sound panicked but the tone was evident in her voice. “Hang on I think we bought a baby thermometer the other day, let me check the bags,” she said, waddling off as fast as she could to the unpacked bags in the spare room. She rummaged through the bag and finally found what she was looking for. Pulling out her wand, she magically opened the thermometer, not wanting to deal with the annoying hard plastic casing it was in and brought it back downstairs. “Okay, here, you just stick it in his ear and it reads the temperature,” she said. She tried approaching Seb but he cried out, covering his ears. “Maybe you should try it, he’s used to you,” Ophelia suggested timidly. @dakota

“Let’s do an array to keep him happy, I’m thinking banana, some graham crackers, and a bit of vanilla yogurt. Balanced with a little bit of sweetness added to the mix!” he had to admit that sounded pretty good. he did eat a little better when he had seb around, he had to admit. the kid seemed to like fruit so there was always a steady stream of it in the house when he was around and he knew sarah would kill him if he did nothing but let him eat junk so while he did spoil him it was within reason. "wanna do up a plate for us too?" he said with a grin as he stood in the kitchen holding seb. when he mentioned to ophelia that seb was feeling warm he saw the worry on her face. he was concerned to but seb had been sick once or twice while he'd been watching him before. one of the upsides to being a healer was that he knew how to treat him .. the downside was seb wouldn't let magic be used on him, the second he saw a wand pointed in his direction he started screaming his head of which in turn would make him sicker. “Okay, right. We can handle this, I mean if this was our child we’d have to handle this anyway,” he nodded a little and stood there with seb, rocking him slightly with his body as he swayed side to side on his feet. “Hang on I think we bought a baby thermometer the other day, let me check the bags,”
he nodded again as he walked toward the counter, sitting seb on it gently and he rubbed his nephew's arm lightly. “Okay, here, you just stick it in his ear and it reads the temperature,” he chuckled a little as she said it and he looked back at her, slipping his hands under seb's arms to lift him back against his chest to hold him while they checked it. "you make it sound so simple." he said as he watched her try and get close to seb. he shushed him softly when he cried out, rubbing his hand over his back as he hide his face in koda's neck and covered his ears. "it's okay mate." he said as he chewed his lip. “Maybe you should try it, he’s used to you,” he used the hand on seb's back to hold him where he was situated and he reached out to touch ophelia's arm. "it's not you love. i promise. he's always touchy when he's sick .. we all learned fast not to try and use magic on him." he said as he tried to reassure her before taking the thermometer from her. talking softly to seb he moved to sit him on the counter again so he had both hands and he eventually managed to coax seb's hands away from his ears so he could check his temperature. "it's not too high but enough we'll need to watch it carefully." he said when he saw the little number come onto the screen and he sighed a little and looked at seb. "what are we going to do with you .. hey?" he said to the toddle who was still giving off little sobs every so often. "want to get him one of the juices from the fridge?" he said as he turned his head back to ophelia. "see if we can get him to drink something." he said with a smile as seb reached up to wrap his arms around koda's neck.

Ophelia bit her lip with worry after she handed the thermometer over to Koda. "I don't think caring for a child with very little experience can ever be described as easy," she admitted with a shaky little laugh. Seb was fussing, and Koda seemed to be the only person who could calm him down. Every time she took a step closer to the boy he shirked away. She turned away, hands on her bulging belly where her own child was growing. What if the same thing happened with their baby? What if they hated her? She couldn't bear the thought of her own child hating and resenting her. She closed her eyes and rubbed her hand over her forehead. Not for the first time ever, even that day, she wished her mother was there. Almost intrinsicly she felt a calming presence around her, and she inhaled deeply, then exhaled. She was unsure that Dakota really believed her when she said her mother was watching over her, instead allowing her to believe in such. But it was moment like this when she really felt the calming, loving presence of her dearly departed mother, giving her strength. She looked over when Koda asked her to get Seb a juice box. "Oh, of course," she said distractedly. She crossed over to the cupboard and opened it. She noticed there were two different types of juice boxes, so she selected one of each and brought them back over. "I didn't know which one he liked better," she said, offering out both of them. She watched as Seb continued to give off little sobs, not looking at Ophelia. "Koda...what if our baby hates me too," she asked quietly. @dakota

"Oh, of course," he watched her carefully as she got the juices. he hoped she wasn't taking seb's avoidance of her too hard. "thanks." he said softly as he continued to try and keep seb calm, patting his back lightly to try and help abate the small, half hearted sobs that were stil wracking the boy. "I didn't know which one he liked better," he smiled a little as she came over with the drinks and he shifted seb on one arm, so he could hold him against his hip while getting the juice the boy wanted. when he didn't get any answer he reached out and took the juice closest to them, using his teeth to get the lid off, it was just easier for him to do it himself, after all he'd been doing it since he'd started watching seb and he handed it to the boy, hoping he'd at least drink half of it. "he'd drink both of them." seb's head didn't leave his shoulder but he was relieved when the boys little hand brought the drink to his lips so he could drink it. "Koda...what if our baby hates me too," he took his attention off seb for a moment and made the distance between him and ophelia a lot smaller. "hey, our baby will not hate you." he said as he rested his free hand on the rise of her bulging stomach. "it's going to love you. you're going to be an amazing mother." he said with a soft smile. "seb doesn't hate you either, i promise. he's sick ophie." he tried to reassure her as he looked at seb. he kissed the boys forehead and looked back at her. "the men in this family get cranky when they're ill. trust me. if ours is a boy you need to be warned." he said, a teasing tone behind his voice as he lifted his hand from her belly and held it out, motioning for her to move under it so he could give her a hug. "let's go watch a movie. see if we can get him settled. if his fever doesn't go down, i'll send an owl to sarah."

Ophelia leaned into Koda just for a moment as his hand rested on her bulging belly. "I know...it's just a silly worry that's completely irrational, but there all the same," she said softly, closing her eyes for just a moment. She took a deep breath and lifted her head, following Dakota to the couch and offering a juice box to Sebastian. The boy took it and sucked it down greedily, and Ophelia took that to be a good sign. "What about Aladdin? My mum showed it to me when I was young and I loved it," she suggested as she browsed the titles. She clicked on the television and settled back, letting Seb cuddle up to Koda as she took the other side, leaning her head against his shoulder. Halfway through the movie, Ophelia glanced over at Seb, who had fallen asleep on Koda's lap and smiled a little. When not crying and sniffling, Seb looked so peacefully happy. She reached over, hesitantly, and pushed his damp hair off his forehead. Frowning slightly, she pressed her palm against his forehead. "Koda? I think he's gotten warmer," she warned, her voice rising slightly. She bit her lip with worry as the little boy moaned and buried his face in Koda's lap. @dakota

"What about Aladdin? My mum showed it to me when I was young and I loved it," he smiled as he and seb got settled on the couch, his arm wrapped around his nephew as he sat against him. he didn't know if seb had ever seen that movie, he'd never seen it so he could assume that sara wouldn't have shown him or any of the other people that she let watch him. "looks good. i can't say i've ever seen it" he said with a grin as he kicked his feet up onto the ottoman and he leaned back, wrapping his other arm around ophelia. the movie wasn't that bad. not something he'd ever have picked out for himself but he found himself laughing right along at the parts that were funny. though he did seem some similarities between the tiger and his dogs ..
"Koda? I think he's gotten warmer," he turned his attention from the movie and down to seb and he frowned, shifting slightly and slipping his hand under seb's shirt to feel how hot his back was. "he has. damn it" he said as he took his arm from around her and gathered seb up into his arms, holding the boy against his chest. he wasn't going to take it as a good sign that seb hardly blinked his eyes when he was lifted from his spot, he just grumbled and buried his head further into koda's shoulder. he walked through to the kitchen and wet a cloth down, holding it to the back of seb's neck as he moved back into the living room. "i need to let sarah know what's happened, can you hold seb? just keep the cloth on his neck." after handing the boy over, koda moved to the desk in the room, writing a quick note down on some parchment and he sent the note off with his owl, hoping he found sarah quickly. "we'll just try and keep him cool till she gets here, if he needs it she can be here to keep him calm so we can heal him." hopefully seb let them, it was no fun seeing the little guy unwell.

Ophelia opened her mouth to speak before Koda handed the little boy over to her. “O-okay,” she said hesitantly, resting Seb on her hip so that he wasn’t sitting directly on the baby. She reached up and readjusted the cloth on his neck; the boy whimpered and drummed his feet against her belly. “Oh no sweetie don’t do that,” she whispered, but that only made Seb wail out loud. “Oh no,” she said frantically, gently bouncing him up and down and wiping his forehead. Sadly, that really didn’t seem to help the little toddler. Ophelia noticed he began to turn green and before she could react, Seb threw up all over her shirt. “Eugh, oh my god,” Ophelia exclaimed, and Seb began to wail even louder. “Oh no honey its not your fault,” she said frantically. She put him down on Kodas’ couch and rushed over into the kitchen to grab wads of paper towels. She tried to wipe off as much as she could but ended up taking off her shirt, leaving her with just her sports bra on. She held down her own vomit as the smell reached her nostrils; she tossed the shirt in a corner and made her way back to Seb to try and clean him up.
Of course, at that moment the door opened and in walked Dakota’s sister, Sarah. Ophie’s face turned bright red; really what a spectacle she was making with no shirt on, hair stringing with vomit and her son wailing on the couch covered in his own sick. “Sarah!” she managed to squeak out, freezing in place as if not really sure what to do next.sarah jane oliveira make your entrance > @dakota

Sarah really wasn't happy that they'd sent her an owl, disturbing her when they'd practically begged to watch Sebastian. She'd been having such a pleasant time too! But, Sebastian did take priority, especially if he was coming down with something. The boy wouldn't tolerate either of them trying to take care of him when sick, a fact Dakoda knew well. Even with his healing experience, Sebastian would throw a total and complete tantrum. If Dakoda was writing to her, it meant it was far enough along that Sebastian was beyond their aid.
Leaving Nikolaj's apartment and arriving at her brother's happened in a flash, and soon she was knocking on the door, announcing her arrival and pushing the door open after. Immediately Sarah stopped in the doorway, hand still on the door handle, and took in the sight before her. And it was quite a sight. Ophelia was half naked, hair covered in vomit (of course she'd recognize it, she'd been thrown up on by her son before.). Sebastian was crying up a storm, so loudly you'd think he was being murdered, just as covered in vomit as Ophelia.
Sarah looked very unamused. "I'm sure you have a great explanation." She slowly said, still staring at the disaster in front of her, trying to decide just what the best course of action would be in a situation such as this.
