It was a nice, fall afternoon and Mathieu was free from the likes of homework and class. It was a Sunday, after all. And Matty personally always made sure to get his homework done on Saturday mornings after a busy and fun filled Friday night so he could have fun on Saturday nights once more and then spend all of Sunday relaxing and sleeping before the school week again. But upon waking up and heading to breakfast, Matty could see that it seemed to be a nice and cloudy day, and it would probably be one of the last ones for a while with the middle of October quickly approaching. So he decided that he would spend a little while outside in the courtyard, relaxing.
Matty made his way out of the two tall entrance hall doors and into the courtyard. It wasn't very crowded, which kind of surprised Matty, considering it was the weekend and all. But he figured since it was nice enough outside, all of his fellow students may be out and wandering the grounds. Matty would have taken to exploring himself if he wasn't so tired from his weekend of staying up late and hanging out in the common room. Matty had actually been working hard to make plans with his Elias Devereux to sneak some butterbeer into the common room next weekend, so he had spent the majority of the night with Elias planning the excursion and just talking with his friend. He often threw common room parties with Elias and they were always a blast. There was no doubt in his mind that this upcoming weekend would be just as fun.
Mathieu headed to sit under a tree in the corner of the courtyard that looked like it wasn't occupied. Not that Matty cared either way. He would have sat there if there were five people surrounding it or not. He was a people person. He sat up against the tree and stretched his legs out in front of him and he folded his arms behind his head. He let his eyes close as he took in a deep breath of fresh air. It felt nice to be outside. Just as Matty was beginning to feel himself doze off, he felt someone block the little sunshine in front of him. He opened one eye to look up at the shadowed figure in front of him. "Hey there, friend. You make a better door than a window," he said in a joking tone.
