Kinsey liked the mornings. She couldn't ever sleep in past six o'clock, but she absolutely loved it. The house was always quiet and peaceful and seh could do whatever she wanted ... almost. Today she sneaked into the triplets' room and borrowed a few of their stuffed animals so she could have a tea party with herself. She went to the closet where she often played on her own. Sometimes her brother or one of her sisters joined her, but it was too early for them right now. Kins closed the door and was having a blast with the animals. She didn't even hear the commotion outside the closet when her sisters realized their animals were missing. She jumped when the door to the closet slammed open and her youngest sister was standing there. Fury seemed to come off the girl in waves as she yelled at Kinsey for taking her favorite elephant. Something felt like it snapped inside her and Kins suddenly felt her sister's desire to smack her until she gave the animal back. As her sister got closer, the feeling got stronger. She reached forward and Kinsey, nervous she was about to get hit, backed away as far as she could and tossed the animal to her sister. The girl's attitude changed almost immediately, as did the atmosphere around them. Kinsey felt her sister's relief and contentedness. As soon as her sister gave her enough space, Kinsey rushed out of the small closet and searched for her brother, terrified about what happened and confiding everything in him. It wasn't long before the family knew all about Kinsey's "gift," but they decided to keep it as much a secret as they possibly could.
