It was the heading toward the middle of term again and Elie was ecstatic to be back in the castle. Sure, it was old and dirty and sometimes smelled moldy, but he thought of Hogwarts as her true home and had longed to be back all summer. She enjoyed Hogwarts almost as much as her years at Beauxbatons.
She'd filed into the Great Hall and sat down with the usual gang at the Ravenclaw table. She was a Slytherin and proud of it, but she didn't normally sit with them. She usually sat with her best friend Dominique. But she didn't pay attention to any of the chatter. She had brought a book to keep her attention, something that she needed to read for one of her classes, though it was also very intriguing to her. It was a charms book about the wands, and how wizards found out that wands could be used for magical purposes.
It was then that she chanced to look over at the her own house's table and she saw him - this boy that was sitting with friends and it looked like they were chatting away. She knew she was staring at this point, but she couldn't tear his eyes away. A blush spread over Elie's features and she struggled to keep her face the normal alabaster shade, so she looked away, down at her shoes.
Elie was sure she had bored a hole in the back of his head when suddenly the feast was over, and most students were getting up to head to Hogsmeade or the Quidditch pitch for practicing. The benefit of weekends was not everyone was rushing to class, so some kids stayed in the great hall for a while - she snapped out of her thoughts to see most people rising from the tables to head off to their respective Saturday locations: library, lake, Hogsmeade, pitch. She looked around for the boy she had been staring at- he was still sitting there, though most of his friends had left. She hopped up and bid her goodbyes to Dominique before heading over to her own table. "Excuse-moi," she said, pushing past a smaller Gryffindor boy. She walked up to where the boy was sitting, and tapped his shoulder, "'Ello? May I zit vith you?" She smiled brightly, attempting to charm him a bit with her eyes.

Saturdays were Matty's favorite. He had made a good habit of always getting up fairly early to get his schoolwork done in the morning so he would have the remainder of the day plus Sunday to relax. So Matty was in high spirits as he sat down with his friends at the Slytherin table, dicussing the recently announced Halloween dance. Hogwarts hadn't had a dance in a all of his five years of attending so needless to say, Matty was excited. His costume idea had been simple; the Joker from the muggle comic series Batman. He had seen the old muggle movies and had really taken a liking to the villain, so out of excitement, Matty had already sent out for his costume.
The time he had spent in the Great Hall consisted mostly of Matty helping his friends out with their own costume ideas. When it came to parties, Matty was a natural. He loved everything about them; the music, the food, the people... parties were his bread and butter. So the Halloween dance couldn't come soon enough.
After some time, Matty's friends dispersed and he found himself realizing he had hardly ate, so he was obviously going to stay behind to do so. He gathered a few sausages onto his plate and began to eat one when he felt a tap on his shoulder. It was shortly followed by a... French accent? Matty swallowed a large bite and turned around to face the Frenchie. Upon looking at the girl that the accent belonged to, Matty had to stop himself from staring at her. She was... more than beautiful, and Matty was finding himself practically speechless.
How long had he been staring? "Speak, Helvitius! You idiot!" He shouted to himself, mentally. Matty blinked a few times then finally he smiled at the blonde girl, patting the spot on the bench next to him. "By all means," he said, his smile widening into a grin.
