The Hufflepuff common room had always felt like home. It was one of the places in the Hogwarts castle that she never felt anxious in. The Hufflepuff commons had become her home and those sorted into the house had become her family, even those who left the house, namely, Brandon. She couldn't believe how much he had changed her life. He had asked her on a date and then gave her her very first kiss. He made her heart flutter and made her smile like an idiot. She was so inexperienced when it came to dating and romance, but he made it easy. She wrote all of this in her leather journal with a purple fountain pen as she sat in the common room late that evening. The fire cracked nearby and the sound of the flames and the smell of the burning wood was comforting. She sat in a plush arm chair with a knitted blanket that her grandma had made her over her knees. Her 7 year old Orange cat discovered her location very quickly and had made herself at home by her hip in the chair, squeezing so she could fit and feel secure. Rosie loved the cat, her parents had got it for her when she was 10 and Goldie had been there for everything throughout her entire Hogwarts experience. Rosie set down her pen and stroked the cat as she purred under her hand.

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged words 246 notes Nevena is dropping in | Nevena loved being in Hufflepuff. Being in this house, to her, meant that she didn’t have to act like her siblings. She had the freedom to be her, at least until she went home. Sometimes she wished she had been the eldest so she wouldn’t feel this pressure to be perfect since her siblings had done everything first. Nevena never voiced her inner rambling or thoughts to anyone, not even her family. She didn’t want, what she thought, to be proven right. She was afraid to have it confirmed. Nevena had been tucked into a corner somewhere in the castle drawing the landscape outside the window. She had been drawing the landscapes of the school, and other things, since she got here in her first year. She drew them over and over always adding new things to them each time.
When she was done with the current picture, she left her little spot and walked back to the common room. Once her feet hit the ground floor she went into the dungeons. She stopped by the kitchens for a snack, a red apple. She thanked the house elves and went to the Hufflepuff common room. Once in she went to sit in an arm chair near the fire. Another girl was there. She thinks her name was Rosie. She didn’t remember though as she was never good with names. She took her sketch book out and started drawing the fireplace and the fire inside of it.

Rosie watched a girl come in and sit near her. She didn't know her well, but she was aware of her as she was most of the other members of her house. Rosie had gone most of her 7 years as an invisible girl. She didn't really go to great lengths to make herself know. She wasn't unpopular, she had a great group of friends who meant the world to her, but outside of them (and some younger Hufflepuffs who liked her because she was sweet and easy to talk to) she wasn't very well known. But she did get along with everybody because of the type of person that she was, so she rarely had a hard time with new people or people she didn't know well.
She believed the Hufflepuff was one of the Krum children, none of which she knew well, but she knew of the family in the same way that some people knew her mother because of what happened to her while she was in Hogwarts. Rosie wasn't sure if the girl sat next to her because she wanted to talk or just because Rosie was sitting in a prime location. But when the 6th year didn't say anything and just sat down with her sketch book, Rosie just gave her a friendly nod and a smile, her cat however, stretched her neck to get a look and smell the air near the newcomer.

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged words 000 notes anything here. | The girl who she thought was named Rosie was always a sweet girl. From everything she has seen there has never been a problem. She, like Nevena, always tried to help others. She didn’t know too much about the girl, but Nevie wasn’t the type of person to just speak to someone. She was never outgoing. Maybe it was time for a change. She was always told she needed more friends. That being friendly to other people wasn’t the worst thing in the world. She taped her pencil on her sketch book for a bit. She had noticed the girl was writing in a small notebook. She loved the color of the girl’s pen. She bit her lower lip and decided to socialize once. Uhh…hey she said softly looking at the other girl. She wondered if she made a mistake talking to her. What if the girl didn’t want to speak to her? After all she didn’t speak to her when Nevie first sat down, but neither did Nevie with her. Maybe she thought Nevie didn’t want to speak to her.

The Krum girl spoke and Rosie looked back up from her notebook with a smile. "Hey, how are you?" she asked, being as friendly as ever. Rosie was a very nice, very sweet, girl who liked to talk to everyone who would be willing to talk to her. She often didn't speak not because she was too shy, but because she was too kind to want to impose her thoughts onto others who hadn't asked for them. That bit of her personality went out the window when it came to people she was friends with, however. She was very open, honest and opinionated with her close friends.
"I'm Rosie Williams." the Hufflepuff introduced herself, not extending her hand to shake, because that seemed a little too formal for this particular occasion. Instead, she just kept her friendly, easy going smile and her old, ginger cat settled himself back down.

She was glad that she wasn’t going to just ignore or dismiss Nevena’s greeting. Nevena always tried to be nice and kind to everyone that was when she branched out to make new friends but she hardly did that. She was still trying that whole make new friend’s thing. It was hard for her really. She was just so used to staying close to herself and not letting anyone in. The girl introduced herself. She smiled at the other girl and said hello Rosie. I am Nevena. She pulled her sketchpad closer to herself. So are you a sixth or seventh year. Rosie looked old enough to be in her sixth or seventh year. She didn’t think the girl was blow the sixth year.
She stayed there quiet but smiled at the ginger cat. Hey there buddy she said to the cat.

Rosie was sweet. She was too kind of her own good and her willingness to trust people often got her into sticky situations, like having been sent to the hospital wing after a run in with a overly-intense Durmstrang student who insisted that she wanted to teach her how to use defensive magic.Rosie wasn’t good at magic. She never had been good at magic. From her first year until now she had surely come a long way, but she still had failed a few OWLs. She wasn’t quite at the level necessary to pass them. She had even done so badly that she got a Troll on her Defense Against the Dark Arts OWL. Luckily, she was able to discontinue taking that subject. She was much better at the academic subjects like history and astronomy rather than the practical magic subjects.
The girl introduced herself and Rosie smiled when she said her name. She asked what year she was and Rosie happily told her. “I’m a 7th year.” she admitted. It made her sad to admit. In just a month she would be graduating and would be done with Hogwarts forever, which was a sad thought. “Are you a 6th year?” she asked. The cat watched the girl from the lap of its owner, not really feeling like moving anymore.

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged words 000 notes anything here. | Nevena still had her sketch book in her hands. She brought it to her chest and stared at the fire after looking at the cat. She smiled as the girl said she was a seventh year and asked if she was a sixth year. Yeah, I am she said. Nevena would soon be a seventh year and that her sister would be leaving Hogwarts. It was hard when her brother left, but it will be even harder when Irina left. All she had left at this school was Raina, not that she didn’t love her little sister, but her olders leaving just made her feel oldish and wishing that they could turn back the clocks to when they first got to Hogwarts. Nevena looked back at the girl after a few more moments of looking at the fire. I am not good at this, talking to other people she admitted to the other girl. Nevena was the kind of person that had friends but rather be alone and spent most of her time alone. She tried to keep her interaction with people down because she was afraid of getting hurt by those people. Her sisters tell her that she needs to get more involved. Are you nervous about…graduating she asked the girl.

The girl confirmed that she was only a 6th year and Rosie nodded, she had thought so. The girl looked like a 6th year, not in a bad way, she just didn’t have that stressed out, not sure what to do with her life, look about her that Rosie had recently been noticing on the faces of most graduating 7th years. She was still in the feel-good place of being an upperclassman, and the knowledge that she would soon be one of the oldest kids in the castle and would hold all of the seniority. “Enjoy your 7th year, it goes by so quickly.” she admitted, imparting just a little piece of advice onto the 6th year sitting beside her. The girl insisted that she wasn’t good at talking to people and Rosie nodded, she wasn’t that way, she loved meeting new people and talking to strangers. She was trusting to a fault. She had even found herself in dangerous and potentially life threatening situations due to how trusting and naive she had been. But she understood that some people didn’t feel the same and wanted to make them comfortable. “Oh, we don’t have to talk if you’d rather just sit and… um… sketch?” she asked, glancing at the book in the girl's hand. When the young Hufflepuff asked if Rosie was nervous about graduation, she nodded. “I think we all are, even if we’re not all showing it. It’s a really weird feeling.” she admitted. She knew plenty of people who were overjoyed by the idea of getting out of Hogwarts and starting the rest of their lives. But it meant leaving behind their safety net and making all of their own decisions that would alter the course of their lives forever. What a scary thought.

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged words 000 notes anything here. | Nevena smiled when the girl advised her to enjoy her seventh year. Nevena honestly didn’t know how to feel about her almost being a seventh year. She basically had one year left and she would be put out into the world. She just hoped she was ready for it. She figured that’s probably how Rosie was feeling right now. Thanks…I will she said smiling at the girl. Nevena looked down at her sketch pad at the girls next words. I need to talk to people more…I need to work on being more sociable. I don’t have many friends because of the whole not being able to talk to people. I don’t know I guess I am just realizing that I should she said. She hadn’t finished sorting through all the thoughts in hear head. Nevena nodded at what Rosie said. I understand. I don’t know how to feel about having one more year left at Hogwarts. I honestly don’t know if I will be ready when the time comes to graduate. I hope I will be she said.

As an older girl, Rosie felt like she should have the advice and wisdom to pass down to the other girl sitting nearby and asking her about how it felt to be graduating and leaving the castle. Truth was, Rosie had no clue what to say to bring comfort for such an interesting predicament. It was so very strange, to be leaving one's home in search of a new one, especially since most people didn’t have flats or homes lined up yet. Some did, but most people had plans to move back in with their parents until they were able to save up enough money to move out on their own and be able to afford a life of independence. While she knew some friends were moving out together and getting flats together, most people would be saying goodbye to sharing a room with friends ever again. Rosie at least didn’t think she’d ever live with any of her roommates again, despite the fact that they were all best friends - they all had their own lives to get to and life doesn’t always keep people in the same places. “I think you just have to take the jump and don’t look down.” she shrugged. “Everyone feels like they're not ready and it’s too soon - at least to certain extents.” she added. “At least you’ve got another year left to think about it all.”
