Luke had been working at the bar for a few weeks now and was really getting the hang of the whole thing. He had learned, rather quickly how to make most drinks and was getting to know a lot of the locals and regulars who turned up for a night cap, or, even just for lunch. He had always been a people person, and he knew that his accent helped him out with most people. They found him interesting: an American, right here in their little town. Everyone was interested in his story, or fired at him questions about what America and Ilvermorny were like.
A woman walked in with stunning and bright hair, hair which he would recognize anywhere and when he saw her face, he smirked, wondering how long it would take her to recognize him. She asked for her drinks and sat down at the bar. “Coming right up.” he said with a smirk, beginning to make her drinks until she finally caught his face. Quadpot cowboy Luke? she asked, causing him to give a little laugh, he didn’t hate that description of himself. Ilvermorny had students from all over the United States, which was a huge country with a vast number of cultures and regions and accents of sorts. “Yep that’s me.” he smiled. She seemed like she couldn’t believe that he was here, but he had a similar thought about her. “Well I got on an airplane and now here I am.” he shrugged. “I’m here for family and a change of pace.” he admitted. “What brings you across the Atlantic?” he asked. "How long have you been in England?" he asked, always happy to see a familiar face.

Luke could understand why she thought that coming to england would give her a clean slate, but the education caught his attention. “Oh, are you going to school still? Did you decide to go to University or something?” he asked. He knew that some wizards and witches who really valued education chose to continue their education after Hogwarts at a muggle university but mostly only if they wanted to do something in the muggle world. Luke couldn’t remember exactly what Trixie wanted to do, but he didn’t think it had anything to do with muggles. He nodded with a chuckle when she spoke about airplanes. He agreed with that she said, it had been a very strange experience. She concluded by asking how long he had been here and if he had avoided the trap of getting stick with a cheap apartment. “Yeah, I’ve been here for like… 3 weeks.” he shrugged, unsure what the date actually was off the top of his head, but he knew that it was late April. “I actually got really lucky, I’m not sure if you remember Finn Nottingham, but she’s here too and she was looking for a roommate so that worked out really perfectly.” he nodded. “What about you? Have you found a place? You working anywhere?”

Luke found it cool that she had gone to a no-maj medicine school, if only for a little while. How fascinating. He wondered what no-maj school was like at that level, how hard was it to avoid using magic? How different were the practices? “Did you want to be a doctor for no-maji, or, a healer?” he asked. He was pretty sure, though he couldn’t be positive since it wasn’t his area of expertise, that you couldn’t go through one training in order to become the other. It didn’t really make sense as they were so different.
The woman asked if she had any ideas as to where to start looking for a roommate and he shrugged. He was lucky to have found one of his best friends already living in this country and that she had an open bedroom. He hadn’t looked very hard, it had kind of fallen into his lap. “Ask around the Alley, maybe? I’m sure someone knows of someone who’s looking. Or, maybe some of the students who are about to graduate Hogwarts are going to be looking.” he shrugged.

Luke filled another patrons drink order and Trixie continued talking down the bar, he was fully listening, but he couldn't stop from working for much more than a few minutes, even if it looked like he was just helping a customer. He nodded when she explained that she wanted to be a healer even though she had gone to med school. "It sounds fascinating." he admitted, though he wasn't sure that he believed it. Maybe after a drink or two he would start to take an interest in it, however, bones and blood didn't really catch his attention on a normal night. She continued about roommates, seeming to take a particular interest in the new adults that would soon be joining the world. It made sense. Most of them had never lived with anyone but family before, and most of them wouldn't know how to do a lot of things on their own, a slight older, more mature roommate around to show them the hopes could be a good thing, it could be a perk. "I'd give it a shot. And if it doesn't work, there's always magic, I bet you'd never have to see each other." he shrugged, returning to the spot at the bar at which she was sat. After a second, she asked about his family, something he didn't really want to get into. She was a nice person, but not someone that he would say he was particularly close to. Telling Finn about his situation had taken a lot out of him, and he even tried not to have to say anything until after they decided to live together. "Oh just getting to know some extended family, experiencing what living in London has to offer." he explained, wiping down a wine glass before hanging it back up on the rack.

She changed the subject, something which Luke was pretty thankful for. He wasn't really interested in getting into anything too person, especially when he was on the clock. And while he did know this individual from his school days back in America, he wasn't sure exactly why she was here or what she was into or who she was working for or with. He had heard about the tragedies of some groups in this part of the world and he didn't want to get messed up in anything like that. He was trying to keep a low profile and really was just here to meet his family. "Uh I haven't had a chance to take in a game yet. I've been pretty busy, trying to work as much as possible since I blew most of my savings on moving here and living for the first few weeks." he explained. He didn't really know what Quidditch was or what made it different, but over the next few days, he'd meet a player who would offer him a ticket to her game, he just didn't know that yet. "You didn't like it? This whole county seems to be obsessed with it. Maybe you should keep your voice down when you admit that." he teased, he didn't actually think anyone would get upset if they heard someone say that they didn't like Quidditch. But in a room full of drunk patrons, it was possible.
