May 2024 Hogwarts courtyard Lucy sat in the courtyard on Hogwarts castle, feeling a little pensive, which was sort of a rare feeling for the Slytherin girl. Lucy wasn't very sentimental. She always thought of her self as a cold person. Someone who couldn't remember the last time that she had cried. Someone who had little regard for most people. Someone who thought about things logically rather than emotionally. But the murder of so many students had her a little on edge. At least it wasn't the purifiers. At least it hadn't been her own group who did it. She wasn't sure how she would have felt if it had been. Lucy hadn't grown close to many of the visiting students, but there were a few boys that she was very sorry to have said goodbye too. However, she had thought at the time that it was a temporary goodbye. Lucy hadn't seen her sister since she was announced the winner of the tournament. Lucy wasn't sure she had ever been so proud of her little Anna. However, when things like that happened she worried about Anna. She knew Anna was a people pleaser, and was also a lot more emotional than she was. Lucy just hoped her sister was doing okay knowing that both of her competitors were now gone.

Anna was looking for her little sis. Sure, Lucy was only a few minutes younger than she was, but most of the time Anna couldn't help but tease her younger sister for that. Today she probably wouldn't though. Today she had something important to tell her twin. She knew Lucy would probably want to talk to her about the attacks on the other schools, which happened yesterday, but Anna didn't want to talk about that. Yesterday she left school and went to go see Oscar and he'd proposed to her! And she said yes! Of course, the girls in her dorm knew about this, since they were there last night, but Anna wanted Lucy to be the first person to know outside of them. She found her sister sitting on a bench in the courtyard and gave a small smile as she approached. "Hey Luc," she greeted. "What are you doing outside all on your own?" She sat down next to her twin casually, making sure she couldn't see the ring yet.

Lucy looked up and snapped out of her lethargic trance when she heard her twin sisters voice approach her. It seemed like with all her thinking about wanting to find Anna, Anna had already found her. Lucy never thought much about that twin-telepathy thing myth, however, it always seemed to come up. Maybe there was some truth to it. Or, maybe growing up with someone for so many years with such a close bond just helped them better understand each other and the types of signs that the other was giving off. “Hey Anna.” She said, the corners of her lips turning up ever so slightly. Anna sat down and asked her what she was doing out here on her own. It was a fair question since Lucy normally liked to surround herself with people. It wasn’t a normal site to see the 7th year Slytherin girl alone. “Oh just thinking.” she shrugged. The grounds looked empty without the carriage and the ship, not to mention the lack of students running around. Hardly anyone was out. “How are you?” she asked.

Lucy gave a tiny smile when Anna approached and she was glad. At least that meant that Lucy was all right. She probably wasn't too happy about the attacks that happened recently, but at least she wasn't openly upset about it. That was a good thing, right. "Thinking huh?" Anna's tone was teasing."About secrets, or do you want to talk about it?" Lucy wasn't generally the type to be all on her own, so Anna might as well see if she could get her sister to talk to her. If not, she had plenty to talk about. How to break the news to her sister. "I'm doing really well," she answered with a smile. "I got to go see Oscar last night and he's ... well, he's alive, so that's good. They said he's going to make it through too, so a bit of my worry is gone now." She sighed, deciding to just come out and tell Lucy what happened. "I want to tell you something, but you have to promise not to freak out first," Anna warned. She didn't want to hide the fact that she and Oscar were engaged, but she also didn't want to announce it to the entire school yet.

Anna asked what Lucy was thinking about. And Lucy debated telling her. However, she wasn’t sure how it would sound to say that she was mourning all of the people she had snogged over the year who were now listed among the dead. That probably didn’t make her sound too good. However, at least she was mourning in someway, and she wasn’t just ignoring what had happened. “Nah.” Lucy shook her head. She didn’t want to talk about it. Anna told her that Oscar was alive, which was good to hear. Lucy had figured as much seeing as Anna wasn’t crying herself sick in a corner somewhere. Oscar was going to make it through and Lucy nodded, “That’s good. I’m really glad to hear that. I was worried about him.” she admitted. One of her first thoughts when she heard the news, besides how many attractive and potentially useful people had died, was about Oscar and her sister. She had tried to find Anna last night, but couldn’t so she had figured that was a good sign since he had faith that Anna would have sought her out if Oscar had died. “What is it?” Lucy asked, turning her full attention of her sister. Oscar was going to pull through, what was there to tell? “Are you okay?” she asked.

Anna nodded when Lucy said she didn't want to talk about it. That was fine. She trusted Lucy enough to know that if her sister really did need to talk about something, she would come to Anna and talk. Besides, they'd definitely spend quite a bit of time with one another this summer so if they needed to discuss anything ... they'd have plenty of time. She smiled a little when Lucy answered that she'd been worried about Oscar. "Thanks. He's hurt and will be in the hospital for a bit, but he'll be okay." Her smile widened as Lucy focused entirely her. She wasn't exactly freaking out, but Anna could tell she was concerned. Hopefully Anna smiling would help with that. "I'm fine. Better than fine, actually. I just ... yesterday when I went to visit Oscar, he asked me to marry him," she brought her hand out, the one with the ring on it. "And I said yes!" Anna couldn't stop the excitement from making her voice squeak a little. Saying it still felt unreal. She was engaged to Oscar, the man she loved.

Lucy Weasley went through various stages of processing when her twin sister told her the news. And she was sure it was present on her face. I'm fine. Better than fine, actually. I just… Lucy tilted her head slightly to the side, watching her sister as she spoke, trying to read her face. She was smiling, which put Lucy a bit more at ease, but, why would she be smiling? Anna was normally a happy person and smiled a whole lot more than Lucy did, however, today didn’t really seem like a smiling day. yesterday when I went to visit Oscar, yes… and… Lucy squinted her eyes a little, trying to see if she could guess what the next words were that were going to come out of her twins mouth. Where was the twin telepathy now?! This was obviously something big. He asked me to… was all the further prompting that Lucy needed. Of course! She should have expected this. Her face lit up before Anna was even able to finish that sentence. She hadn’t been expecting it because they hadn’t known each other that long, but of course they were in love, anyone who saw them together would know that. “AN-na!” Lucy explained, emphasizing the first part of her twins name out of excitement. “Oh my god! This is a big deal… congratulations!” Lucy threw her arms around her sister.

Lucy seemed to understand exactly what Anna was about to say before she finished saying it. Her eyes got wide and excited and the next thing Anna knew, her twin's arms were around her as she was enveloped in a huge hug. She laughed as she hugged her sister back. "Thanks Lucy." She grinned and pulled away. "I almost broke curfew to try and find you last night ... but I didn't really want to get caught and I came back kind of late, so I decided to wait until I could catch you today." She sighed happily, glancing down at her ring. Then she bit her lip. "What do you think Mum and Dad are going to say about it?" That was the one thing she was nervous about. She knew her father thought she followed her emotions too much. He probably wouldn't like her getting married right after graduating. Then again, when did he ever like her decisions? Even so, a small part of her wanted his approval and blessing. She needed to accustom herself to the fact that she probably wouldn't get it.

Anna explained that she tried to find her last night, but didn’t want to get caught and Lucy nodded, though she wasn’t sure anyone would have gotten them into trouble if they found them out. With everything that had happened, the prefect or professor would probably figure that they were sisters and just needed to spend time together, especially with Anna having a boyfriend...er...fiancée in the hospital after an explosion. “I tried to find you too.” Lucy admitted. “Just to make sure everything was okay and all. I figured that not finding you meant good news.” she admitted. She had figured she would have gotten information from someone regarding Anna and her emotional state if things had been worse. What did she think mum and dad would think? What a loaded question given Anna’s relationship with their father. “Um, well… I think mum’ll be happy for you. Oscar’s a good guy and all. And dad? Well no matter what he says he’ll come around.” she insisted. “How much does their opinion mean to you?” she asked. If Lucy had decided to get married, the opinion of her parents would be the last thing on her mind.

Anna nodded when Lucy explained that she searched for her the day before as well. "Yeah, I left a few hours after the news came. The hospital sent me an owl and I got permission to leave and see him." Her eyebrows furrowed as she remembered how nervous she'd been yesterday. She knew Oscar was on that carriage. Not knowing what happened was torture. At least now she knew he was being cared for. He'd be fine. "Thanks for looking for me though." Anna wasn't surprised by it, but it was nice to know. Lucy answered her question and Anna nodded slowly, not really expecting anything different. Lucy was right. Their mother would probably be happy for her and her father ... well, he'd almost certainly say something about how she was young and mistaking infatuation for love. Oh well. She shook her head when Lucy asked her a question in return. "Not much. I just happened to think about it right now as we were talking." She tried to think of something else and smiled, "You're going to help me get ready, right?" Anna wanted her sister to be a big part of the preparations, as long as Lucy didn't mind.

Anna explained that she been allowed to go and see Oscar in the hospital and Lucy nodded, she was glad that they had allowed her to leave the castle and go and see him. She wondered about that, knowing that so many students would have known people who survived, but she was sure the school wouldn’t let just anyone leave the castle and the hospital wouldn’t want crowds of students hoping to see their friends. Anna admitted that she didn’t really care what their parents thought about it and had only just thought about it through their conversation. “If they’re not happy that their daughter is getting married then it’s not your fault. Don’t let them ruin this happiness.” Lucy said, squeezing her sister shoulder lightly. Lucy wasn’t sure how she felt about weddings, or the idea of marriage, but she knew Anna loved it and she knew Anna wanted to get married, so she was excited that her sister was getting what she wanted. “Sure! I’ll help you with whatever you want.” she agreed. Lucy had no idea how much work went into planning a wedding, and was beginning to feel like she might actually have to do some research about it. “So do they have any idea how long Oscar’ll be in the hospital for?” she asked.

Anna nodded as Lucy said to not let her parents ruin her happiness. "I won't. Thanks Lucy," she said. Honestly, having her sister supporting her meant more to Anna than she could express. She wanted her parents to approve, but if they didn't she'd be all right. When Lucy agreed to help her plan, Anna beamed at her. "I can't wait, Lucy!" Anna exclaimed, letting her excitement bubble over. And why shouldn't she? "I can't believe I'm getting married." To Oscar. It was a dream come true. At her sister's next question, her excitement lowered a little bit. She shook her head, "They don't know." That was one thing Anna didn't like. She just wanted him to be out already, but knew it wouldn't be that easy.

Lucy was glad that her sister took her advice, or at least acted like she was taking her advice. Lucy honestly didn’t think their parents would freak out about it, however, knowing Anna’s past relationship with their father, it was a possibility that the whole thing might get turned around just because of hard feelings. Lucy however, would do her best to help her sister avoid that. This was a happy occasion. “I can’t believe you are either.” Lucy admitted, still feeling a bit shocked by the whole thing. It felt like it happened so quickly, however, she knew that the two had been dating for a while and they were very serious about each other. Her twin would be married and she would be single forever. Well, maybe not. But Lucy didn’t think she was the type of person to settle down, at least not anytime soon. “So there’s a lot of stuff to do, isn’t there? Do you have any idea where yo start?” Lucy asked. When Anna said that they didn’t yet know how long Oscar would be in the hospital, Lucy sighed and nodded. She knew Anna didn’t like admitting that. “Well I’m here for anything you need until he’s better, well, and after that too, but you know what I mean.” Lucy insisted.

Lucy seemed a little shocked by the news and implications and whatnot, but Anna was so glad that her sister was being so supportive of her. She grinned when Lucy said that she couldn't believe she was engaged either. Then she started asking what they needed to do now and Anna hesitated, shrugging a little at her sister. "No? I mean, I need to figure out where I guess." She hesitated a moment, trying to think of all the things that would be needed for a wedding. "I guess a dress and invitations ... but I think we want it to be pretty small. Ummm, do you have any idea what all has to go into something like this?" Anna didn't really know what to think of, planning her own wedding. She was sure her mother and aunts and uncles would probably be able to help a lot ... but what all did a wedding entail? She smiled and nodded when Lucy said she was there to help. "Thanks Lucy," Anna told her softly. "I appreciate you being willing to help me out." She didn't expect anything less, but Anna was still grateful for it.

Lucy had never planned an event before in her life. She had no clue what to do. However, even if Anna wanted to keep it small, with a family as large as theirs was, even a small wedding was going to require a lot of work, she was sure. She had been to weddings before, again, with her family as large as it was. But she had never been involved with any of the behind the scenes or set up of such an event. She always just arrived and sat down and ate and left. “Maybe Grandma can help? I mean, think of how many weddings that woman has planned in her life.” Lucy shrugged. She did love her grandma Weasley, besides the woman’s politics and love for muggles, she was always so sweet and genuine and made the best food that Lucy had ever tasted in her life. A part of Lucy wanted to be like her when she got older. When/if she ever decided to settle down and have her own kids and her own house. “So does this mean you’re going to move in together and such?” Lucy asked, wondering about her sisters plans, the two of them not having talked about it much.
