Well, Cori and Ronan had eventually decided on roaming the inner workings of the underground levels of the castle. Cori had gone back to the Ravenclaw common room to change into more explorer type clothes, and to leave her book in a safer place. Her and Ronan decided to meet just outside the potions classroom. Cori went down there, and waved to Ronan and she arrived. "Hey, ready to rock and roll? she cocked at eyebrow at him, and mentally chided herself. Rock and Roll? Seriously?
She had, of course, been below the castle before due to potions class, but she really hadn't explored that much. In fact, she really hadn't explored anything. You'd think by spending so much time alone she would have started exploring the castle and become a pro by now. But nope, she hid out in the library or in her dorm room. She really should have used for of her six, almost seven, years here to explore the castle more.
Well, better late than never.

Ronan currently found himself down in the dungeons waiting for Coriander to show up. He had promised her that he would take her exploring, and well not many people knew of where they were going. Well he did inform Walton, his head of house where they would be going just in case something happened. Ronan was excited to go exploring and with someone new, like Coriander, for he had done so many times with his friends but this was different since he hadn’t told them how to get down to the bowels of the school. He was looking around, wondering from which direction Coriander would come from since there were many ways to get to the potions classroom. He turned his head around "Hey, ready to rock and roll?” and once he heard that Ronan smirked as he spotted Coriander.
Turning to face his friend. “Of course I am ready, however the question is are you ready?” Ronan answered Coriander’s question with one of his own. Of course he was ready, the real question to ask him was when was he not ready to do something. The way to get to the bowels of the school were not far from here but you had to know what to look for since the entrance was concealed so well that you could walk past it many times and never even notice it. But you had to know what to look for and it always helped to be good at charms since that is what hid the entrance.
“Well shall we go?” Ronan asked Coriander with a smirk. “Follow me.” He stated as he began to walk away from the potions classroom, a ways down the corridor he turned and smirked at Coriander who he noticed was still near the potions classroom. Before he went ahead and turned suddenly into the secret entrance that led to the many places below the castle that only few knew about. As he stood halfway into the entrance just so that Coriander could find it, as part of him was sticking out into the corridor, “Coming or what?!” Ronan kind of shouted down the hallway as he stuck his head out to see if his friend was coming or not.

Cori nodded as he asked if she was ready, but she didn't say anything. Should she have told someone where she was going? What if Ronan turned out to be a crazy person and killed her then good her body in the dark corners of the castle. Would anyone even notice that she was gone? Well, of course Maryn would notice. And she was friends with Ronan anyway. Yeah, there was no way he'd get away with it.
Cori felt a little very thinking through that absurd notion. But she realized that Ronan was suddenly not beside her anymore. She joked around, panicked, until he called out to her. He looked as if he were sticking out of the wall. "Yeah, I'm coming!" she called, running over to where he was. When she got there she realized he must have been halfway into a secret passage of some kind. She smiled, "all right, let's do this." she rubbed her hands together. Partly from excitement and partly from nervousness. Here goes nothing.

"all right, let's do this." Ronan couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit as Coriander basically told him that she was ready to go on an adventure. He was excited as well, since most of the times that he had come down here to explore Ronan was the only one. But Ronan could tell that Coriander was even more excited than he was, which just so happened to be a good thing. “Well let us be on our way then.” Ronan said in a cheerful tone. “Oh and you might want to keep your wand at the ready, sometimes, there happen to be acromantulas down here, which I have no clue as to how they got down here from the forest. Anyways they are down right nasty creatures to deal with if you are not ready for them. Fire works best on them, or you can use Arania Exumai which is the spell that is the most effective against spiders, unless you are gifted at transfiguration like Maryn is.” Ronan informed Coriander, and it was true their mutual friend, Maryn, was truly gifted with transfiguration, just like he was with charms. Granted he was still really good at transfiguration, but nowhere near as good as Maryn was, no his strong suit was in charms, dueling and defense against the dark arts spells. However the last two, no one ever got to see and if they did it was on the rare occasion, because he liked to keep a wild card up his sleeve.
Ronan had started walking as he informed Coriander about keeping her wand at the ready. At the end of the passage way Ronan stepped over the body of a dead and decaying acromantula, that he had killed the last time that he had been down here. Which was at the end of last term. Oh how he remembered that encounter, the stupid thing was blocking his way as were several others, and when they started rushing forward he blasted them to pieces, except for this one as it jumped at him and he used the spell that he had just mentioned to Coriander. After that fight he had busted up laughing since he had remained completely calm about the whole situation, and when the others had asked him why he was laughing when he had found them Ronan told them what had happened, and the looks on the faces of his friends was completely priceless.
“Come on you have nothing to worry about.” Ronan said to Coriander, since his voice would carry on down the passageway he did not need to shout. Of course he could understand the whole being wary of this whole situation, I mean to follow someone that you only met not too long ago down a passageway that led to the bowels of the school.

Acromantula? Was he serious? To say that Cori was nervous would be an understatement. She was wandering through mysterious areas of the castle underground, with evil giant spiders and a crazy, but brave Gryffindor who seemed to be even more reckless that the others. That was saying a lot. She made sure to stay close to Ronan, not wanting anything to surprise her. "You know, if something bad happened... would anyone hear us scream?" she chuckled nervously, but it really was a valid concern. How far underground where they headed, anyway? She made sure to keep her wand in her hand, holding onto it firmly.
When he stepped over the dead Acromantulas body she followed suit, trying hard not to look down. She started walking slower, hesitantly. Yup, she was definitely becoming unnerved. Isn't that what she wanted? She realized she had stopped and he beckoned her forward, telling her she had nothing to worry about. Yeah right! But she followed him anyway. When she stood beside him, she quickly linked her arms through his, "not a word. I don't want to get separated." She, of course, was wearing long sleeves and so their skin wasn't touching, but he'd probably be able to feel the cold a little through the fabric but right now she didn't care. She was extremely freaked out. But, she couldn't deny, it was a little fun being this scared. "Whats that?" she suddenly stopped as something moved up ahead.

"You know, if something bad happened... would anyone hear us scream?” Ronan smirked a little at the question the Coriander asked him, and the end of her statement as to why she had moved close to him. “Of course they wouldn’t hear us scream, we are far underneath the school.” He answered, it was quite true. No one would hear them if the screamed or something like that. “But don’t worry I tipped off my head of house on my way down here letting him know where we would be. Just send your patronus his way if something happens that we cannot handle on our own and he will come and get us out of any trouble that we find ourselves in.” Ronan answered. “You can conjure a patronus right?” He said in a joking tone, and also with an uncertain look on his face. Ronan could conjur one easy enough, he did not even have to think about it, but he was not sure if Coriander could, since a lot of people had trouble even forming the mist. But he was positive that she could.
"Ok, I won’t say anything about this.” Ronan replied as he gestured with his hand towards their linked arms. He did not feel any coldness, which was fine, but he was still going to figure out what was going on with his newest friend. It did not bother him one bit, and it was smart to stay close and together so they would not get separated at all.
Ronan could tell that Coriander was freaked out, but that was a good thing it meant that she would still be aware of what was going on around them. "Whats that?" Ronan stopped walking when Coriander stopped and asked what had moved up ahead. “I am not sure what it was. Stay alert. Now let us be on our merry way.” Ronan stated in a serious tone and then the last part was said in a happy tone, and then he began moving forward once more.

Cori felt her lip quiver with fear as he said she was correct in assuming that no one would hear them scream. However, he did make it better by saying that he tipped off the Professor as to where they would be exploring. This made her feel a little better. She clutched her heart for a moment and calmed her breath, "That's good then." This was when the awkward part happened. Ronan asked her if she could conjure a patronus. Actually, he didn't really ask. It was more of an assumption than a question. She felt a little irritated by this, but she figured this was just his way of being respectful to her. She shook her head, "No..."
Cori simply nodded at his comment about not saying anything about the arm linkage. She needn't go into a detailed conversation about it or make him sign a treaty. She trusted him. When Ronan tried to cheer her up with the 'merry way' comment, it worked a little. She felt herself smile a bit and nodded her head, following her feet further into the darkness.
After a moment she shivered a little, with a bit of a laugh, "I think we've got the unnerving stuff down, Ronan," she chuckled. It really was too. She was feeling more alive and awake right now than... well, maybe ever.

"That's good then." Ronan nodded his head at that comment. It was a good thing indeed. He always tipped off a professor before coming down here and most times it was Professor Grey, and then on the rare occasion it was Professor Eielson. "No..." He could hear the irritation in Coriander’s voice in that response to his question if she could cast a patronus. “That is alright, just stay close, and don’t wander off.” Ronan said and then an idea popped into his head. “If you want I can teach you how to cast a patronus sometime.” He offered he really did enjoy teaching or helping people with the spells that they had difficulty with. It was something that he knew that he would be doing soon enough especially with the group that he was going to be starting up with Sammy. Maybe he could ask if Coriander would like to join it as well.
"I think we've got the unnerving stuff down, Ronan," He turned his head with a raised eyebrow. “Just you wait it gets even more unnerving.” He stated with a smirk. Ronan had been down here enough times and due to that fact he wasn’t unnerved in the slightest. Taking a look around he raised his wand. “You might want to close your eyes for a second, it is about to be really bright in here so we can see.” He stated before whirling his wand in a circle in the air above his head. Once he stopped a ring of fire burst forth from the tip of his wand and expanded quickly and lit all of the torches in the underground cavern. The spell was something that he had learned from Professor Eielson a while ago. And it had its uses, espesically in lighting all of these torches. Ronan looked around and spotted something that was rather interesting, there was a lake with glowing fish in it and in the middle of the lake there was a small island that had some of the most amazing flowers that you could not find on the surface.
It made one wonder just how they grew down here and without sunlight. He had half the mind to tell Professor Longbottom about them, because he knew that man would be able to figure out what they were and what their uses were. “Take a look at that sight.” He said to Coriander as he pointed at the lake and its island. And know with the light of the torches you could see all of the doors that were all around the cavern. The ones that he had been in Ronan had placed a white x next to each door. However there were still over twenty-five doors that he had not been able to open yet. Behind each one was something completely different. In one there was a potions lab, in another a library and so on. It made him wonder if the founders of the school had built all of those chambers.

Cori didn't bother to close her eyes when Ronan warned her to, she was too frightened to do that. She just looked away, letting the light wash around her. It was pretty bright, so she had to blink a few times to get the spots out of her eyes, but it wasn't that big of a deal. She considered his patronus offer while as they continued, but she wasn't sure what to say about it yet. She decided it was best to just nod and simply say, "I'll think about that," that way she didn't have to get into it right now. She didn't have to get into the fact that she actually had no happy memories. At least not any substantial ones.
As Cori's eyes fell upon the strange underground pond that Ronan had pointed out, she shook her head in disbelief. What kind of plant doesn't need sunlight? She released Ronans arm to get a closer look. After surveying the plant for a moment, Cori felt hers heart start to pound hard against her chest. Before she knew it, she was on her knees, leaning over the water. "Ronan. Ronan, I need that plant." she was almost breathless as she started into the bright colors of the flower.
It was Moonblossom, She was sure of it. She had studied that plant for the last month. it may be something that could help her get rid of her curse. Professor Longtbottom had said that it was too rare to find around here, but that he'd try to locate a bud or something over the weekend. But this one was fully bloomed! She couldn't pass up this opportunity. She fumbled for her wand, but her hands were shaking. This could be it. the moment she had waitied seventeen years for. But, moonblossoms needed moonlight to bloom, didn't they? She looked up towards the ceiling looking for a crack in which the moon could shine through. She was sure this was the correct plant, but with no moon... that would mean it was something else. That isn't what she wanted to hear.

"I'll think about that," Ronan knew that Coriander wouldn’t accept the offer right away, especially in part since they had just become friends not too long ago. “That’s fine, just know that the offer is always there if you want it.” He said in a polite tone. He wasn’t irritated or disheartened by Coriander’s answer. He noticed that his friend only looked away and he gave a smirk, as he saw her blinking her eyes rapidly trying to get rid of the spots that were there from the sudden burst of light. “I did tell you that it was going to be bright.” Ronan stated with a hint of amusement in his voice as he spoke.
"Ronan. Ronan, I need that plant." Well now that was something. Why on earth would Coriander need that plant, especially one that most people had probably never seen “Well then let’s go get the plant, If you need it that badly.” Ronan said as he listened and watched Coriander and her reaction upon seeing the plant. He also saw her glance towards the ceiling of the cavern. “Looking for something up there?” He asked and now he was all the more curious as to what was so special about this plant.
“Hold still we are going to go get that plant for you.” Ronan stated as he approached Coriander and lightly grabbed her upper arm. Turning on the spot there was a silent crack as the two students disappeared and then there was a very quiet popping noise as the two reappeared on the island in the middle of the lake that was covered in these flowers that Coriander so desperately needed. “Well I didn’t think that was going to work.” Ronan commented about apparating inside the cavern. He souldn’t have been able to do so if the wards protected the school. But then he figured that he could apparate within the wards just not in or out of them. Which would make plenty of sense.
“Well here are your flowers Coriander, go ahead and take you pick of them. I would get the best ones if I were you.” Ronan said as he looked at Coriander and then he took a few steps and knelt down next to one of the flowers, which got brighter as he touched it with his hand. These flowers were indeed special and something that he had never seen before. “Do you have any idea as to what these flowers are called?”

Cori nodded frantically as he said they would get it for her. She turned to face him when he asked why she was looking at the ceiling. "Well, if this is the plant I think it is, it grows in the moonlight. There has to be somewhere that the moon can get in here. Unless..." she looked back at the brightly colored flowers, "Unless it was placed down here by someone who had let it come to full bloom, maybe to protect it but... why? And why wouldn't the professor know about?"
Right as she was starting to doubt herself, Ronan was suddenly grabbing her and lifting her to her feet. She let him, and she let him apparate them across to the little island. She let out a nervous chuckle and clutched his arm, "Ronan you're brilliant, I didn't even think of that!" She exclaimed happily as he gestured to the flowers. She knelt down next to where he was, watching as the flower started to glow. Moonblossom did that. This could really be it.
"If it's what I think it is, it's Moonblossom. But I'm really not sure why'd they'd be down here..." she glanced around the room again, looking up into the ceiling. "Maybe this is a cousin to that flower, something similar but not that in particular. I wonder if it has the same skin healing properties that the Professor mentioned..."

"Well, if this is the plant I think it is, it grows in the moonlight. There has to be somewhere that the moon can get in here. Unless... Unless it was placed down here by someone who had let it come to full bloom, maybe to protect it but... why? And why wouldn't the professor know about?" Now those answers and questions got Ronan’s mind thinking as they had apparated and were currently observing the flowers. It was truly a sight to behold. "If it's what I think it is, it's Moonblossom. But I'm really not sure why'd they'd be down here..." Moonblossom? He had heard of it before but he had never seen it not even a picture of it. “Well as you stated before what if someone did leave it down here. And as far as Professor Longbottom not knowing about it, I am not surprised since very few people can even get in here unless they know what to look for. I think that we should tell him about this. He would be thrilled about a new or rare plant, that only very people have ever seen.” He said voicing his opinion on the matter.
Ronan listened to Coriander talk about something that Professor Longbottom had mentioned. “What skin healing properties did he mention that the plant has?” Ronan asked he was sure that it had to deal with something pertaining to the reason as to why Coriander’s skin was ice cold. However he was just going to ask her questions to figure out what was going on, but he wanted Coriander to tell him on her own. Because it was most likely a touchy subject and probably one that didn’t need to be out in the open.
Following Coriander’s gaze towards the ceiling once again Ronan raised his hand without really thinking about using his wand, he cast a wordless and wandless spell that once the magic left him it created an orb of light that shot towards the ceiling so that they could see any cracks or anything that might give light to the flowers. Upon first glance Ronan didn’t see anything except for darkness, but there was something that he saw. It was a crevice or something. Extinguishing the orb of light with a wave of his hand he was now able to see a crevice that was slanted and that had a small amount of daylight coming through it. There were rocks there that if hit by the moon light they would be bright enough to shine light down upon this island of flowers. “Coriander is that crevice what you were looking and hoping to see?” Ronan asked as he pointed towards said crevice.

Coris eyes shot up toward where Ronan was pointing toward the crevice in the ceiling. She let out a laugh, a burst of happiness and overwhelming nervousness. "Yes! That's... exactly..." she shook her head in disbelief as she glanced back at the flower beside her. Her hands were shaking as she slowly reached out toward it. "It is a key ingredient to the Wolfesbane potion but it also has strong skin healing properties. It... it's..." she looked up at Ronan with probably the first real smile she had carried in months... maybe years. "Help me get this out of here?" she asked.
Her desperate attitude had made way for an outburst of hope-something she had never felt before. She was giddy, which was rare. She was drunk with the possibility of her curse being lifted. She needed that plant. and she needed it now. She was sure that Ronan would help her get it, he was that kind of guy, right? What would have happened if she hadn't agreed to go on some unnerving trips with the Gryffindor? She could kiss him, she really could. But she wouldn't of course--only in the hypothetical sense.

Ronan couldn’t help but smile as Coriander burst with happiness. Well that was not something that he was expecting to see today, but nonetheless it looked as if things were starting to turn for the better for his newest friend. “Sure thing let me just conjur a pot really quick so we can put it in there.” Ronan said in reply before he pulled out his wand and conjured a pot that was large enough for several plants. Grabbing the pot out of the air Ronan moved to where Coriander was at and smiled. “I got the pot, now let’s get a couple of these plants out of here.”
Aiming his wand at the dirt Ronan carefully traced a circle around the plants and at the same time letting it dig into the soil so that all they had to do was levitate the plants and put them into the pot which they would add more soil to before leaving. “Well I did the digging and conjuring so that just leaves the levitation of these two into the pot along with some extra dirt. Would you like to do the honors Coriander?” Ronan asked.
He enjoyed helping people especially his friends. The reason for it was simply because it made them happy and it made him happy. Ronan was glad that he had been able to suggest that they come here for an unnerving adventure as Coriander had put it. Ah what a fun day. Soon enough he was aware of something wet land on his shoulder and then he saw some land on Coriander as well. He glanced upward and saw a bunch of bats. “Just when things couldn’t get any better.” Ronan said in a sarcastic tone along with a chuckle. Bat guano was not something that landed on you often. “Well it looks like we might want to take showers after this. Guano tends to smell rather awful.” He commented dryly.

Cori stood and clutched at Ronans arm, "Thank you, thank you for helping me," she said as she let go in order to use her own wand. As he turned to her, offering for her to do the levitation spell, her lip quivered a little. She turned to face him full on, wrapping both of her freezing arms around his neck and pulling him into a tight hug. The hug lasted for longer than she had ever even touched anyone before, but she didn't care. Soon, hopefully, it wouldn't matter how long she hugged anyone anyone for. She pulled away and planted an icy kiss on his cheek.
She lifted her wand and levitated the pots, making them go across the pond and wait on the other side of the water for them. She turned back as he made a comment and noticed the stuff on his shoulder. "Ick!" she said, with her own laugh. She looked up to see the bats as well. She laughed at his next comment about the smell, "No, no it doesn't!" she clasped him at the elbow and with a loud POP they were back on the other side of the pond, next to the potted flowers. She let go of him, quickly coming to the realization that she had actually just hugged someone only moments ago.
She looked down at the pots and smiled, then looked back up at Ronan, "Did you want to explore more? We could just send these back to my dorm room and hang out some more. Or they could wait for us here or... whatever you want," she offered. She really was having fun. Plus, the Professor didn't need to be bothered by her at the moment. The plants could wait, right?
@ronan notes:yaay best friends forever!
