Finley was euphoric with happiness, to say the least.
The Chudley Cannons had just won the match against whatever Quidditch team they had been pitted against, perhaps Puddlemere United. Right when Finley was about to score the Quaffle into the enemy team's hoop, the Seeker for the Cannons had caught the Snitch, thus concluding the game and winning Fin's team a victory.
Although the Cannons had experienced the delicious taste of victory before, every one of their winnings counted to build a name for the team and keep it's high reputation in front of the audience. They could afford an occasional loss here and then, but it was important that they keep up their victories. If they wanted to be counted as one of the best teams in Britain's wizarding world, they couldn't lose rapidly.
Finley had landed on his feet and dismounted already. Once he did, he found himself being tackled and hugged by his fellow teammates, and Fin hugged them back with much joy and happiness. Friends and family were always important, but there was this special feeling that came with camaraderie. His team was like a small, unique family that he had found for himself, he felt as loyal as a Hufflepuff to them.
After some of the insane euphoria passed by, the audience who were on the stands to watch the game were pouring down into the field to greet the players. Finley grinned and accepted their words of congratulations him and compliments readily. He was beaming at his admirers while he heartily thanked them, and was feeling very proud with himself. When Fin felt proud, his confidence tended to go a little overboard. He was cocky, and there was no helping it.

Finley. Mason. Abbott.
She had almost forgotten that he was now playing for the Chudley Canons. After seeing him on the Quidditch field back in the day, it wasn't hard to believe. The two had actually been... friends, a concept that Cori found hard to believe. He was outgoing, daring, flirtatious and popular. But he had always made time for her even when he was in the middle of a crowd. Who could ask for a better friend than that? Other than Coris best friend, Maryn, Fin was the only other person who really gave her that kind of attention. Now, she was befriending another Gryffindor Chaser named Ronan, and a part of her thought he was a lot like Fin. Outgoing and friendly, but Ronan wasn't as flirtatious and... well, something was different. Fin was Fin.
A part of her hoped she could sneak out of the stadium unnoticed. But, didn't she come to this game to integrate herself in the world anyway? Her thoughts of sneaking away quietly were squashed by the end of the game and the loud crowd. Soon, the entire section she was in was starting to make their way down the field. There was no getting around them or going the other way. She could either sit down and wait til they cleared, or follow them onto the field. She was relieved to have made sure she was wearing a jacket today, because people kept bumping into her. Well, may as well go with them.
When on the field, the Chudley Canons were surrounded and she knew there was no point in trying to get to Fin. But soon, sooner than she expected, she was shuffled towards him and caught his smile from a few feet away. He always have a lovely smile, but this was his cocky one. The one that everyone got to see, not the sweet ones that she had seen in secret. The understanding ones. The kind ones. She found herself wanting to talk to him now. She even gently moved a few people out of her way with her bare hands until she was close enough to clasp his elbow, his uniform protecting his skin.
"Nice game out there, Fin," she said softly.

Finley was listening jovially to the compliments of a teen girl. She was enthusing about how much she admired his skill in Quidditch. She was sending a fire of compliments in his direction, telling him how much she admired him and how awesome he was. Frankly, the girl could really be more concerned about his looks instead of his competence on the field, but Fin didn’t mind in the least. He seriously enjoyed fangirls. What kind of a flirt would he be if he scorned them? Knowing that he was a ladies man only fed his pride to the point where he wanted to puff out his chest until it exploded.
After the girl was done talking and Fin had graciously thanked her for her sweet words, Fin idly glanced in front of him. He expected himself to quickly look away and at another fan, because again, he had just been coincidentally looking in the forward direction. The way people just glance about at times with no serious intent in mind. However, once made that glance, his gaze held and he made no attempt to move it.
Making her way towards him was a girl. An extraordinarily pretty girl with a fine face…but also a girl who he recognized. Coriander Pepsi. Cori, as he called her, both to shorten the long name and out of close affection. When Fin was still a Gryffindor in school, which was rather recent, Cori had been dating a good friend of his. He had been rather jealous that his buddy that nicked a really cute girl before he could make a move, but nonetheless it had been a playful jealousy. He had respected Cori as his brother from another mother’s girl. But that didn’t stop him from thinking that she was…special. He flirted with girls on a whim and later forgot who he had been catting with, but he took the Ravenclaw more seriously, for some reason. There was just something about her that distinguished her from a regular, everyday girl. He couldn’t explain it, nor was he probably aware of it either…much. Did it have to do with her more elegant kind of beauty? Did the strong, down-to-earth, dignified personality that she had make her more respectful in his eyes? He appreciated flirting with playful, air-headed, materialistic, gossiping girls as long as they were pretty, but he didn’t take them seriously.
He excused himself from the crowd of people and stepped forward to meet her, a grin forming on his face. "Cori, what a pleasant surprise!" he said. "It's good to see you again. Please tell me that you didn't bring a boyfriend along with you. I'd like to have you all to myself." He wasn't sure whether or not Cori was still dating his friend, but regardless, he would appreciate spending time alone with her. Who wouldn't?!
He wriggled his eyebrows when she complimented the game. "And you've been watching only me play, I hope?"

He was doing it again. That thing where he'd ditch a crowd of adoring admirers just to come and talk with her. She couldn't help but let her smile grow as he approached. She felt that familiar tug in her stomach. That feeling that came so rarely and only asking close friends.
At his question, and cocked an eyebrow and smirked, "Nope, no boyfriend. My girlfriend was supposed to come but she couldn't make it," she but her lip and let that stew for a moment. "Just kidding! But really, Maryn was the one who invited me but she had a family emergency at the last second." Cori was more than happy to let her friend handle things with her family. It had been a rough summer for Mar and her sister. Cori would never want to stand in the way of that.
She held her arms out to her sides,"So, in other words, I'm all yours." she quickly brought her hands back, not wanting to accidentally bump anyone with her ice cold hands. She took a step closer to Fin. "Of course I was only watching you. What are friends for?" she cocked an eyebrow at him.
She had forgotten how easy it was to make a conversation with Fin. He was nothing like his cousin Alice, who had been Coris arch enemy for six years. That always made things more awkward been she and Alice Coris friendship with Fin... Now that Fin was gone though, Cori and Alice fight more than ever.
A part of Cori wished that she had Fin all to herself right now, the way he had her. But she couldn't expect that after a fantastic match and all the teammates and fans wanting to get a moment with him or go for food or something. Well, she would take all of the time that she could get even if it wasn't much.

Finley laughed at Cori's joke about her "girlfriend". He would've been rather shocked if she admitted to turning lesbian--that would've been a huge downturn for Fin. Because Fin never agreed with homosexuality, and he thought she was way too pretty to not notice guys. But he did understand that girly best friends referred to each other as their girlfriends. It was rather cute but Fin could never imagine himself calling another guy his boyfriend just because they were close. "Are we talking about Maryn King, the Hufflepuff?" he asked, for he did remember a Hufflepuff girl by the name of Maryn, even if he knew Cori more. "Ah, that's too bad. I wouldn't mind another pretty face around here." He grinned cheekily. "But that's okay, because your face can totally compensate for the beauty of more than one person." But seriously, Cori was really hot, hotter than most girls he saw around.
His eyebrows shot upward. "I was hoping that you'd say that I was more than just a friend to you," he teased. He wasn't on that level with Cori yet, but he personally wouldn't mind a girlfriend like her. She was cute and had a nice and witty personality. But she also mentioned that she had no boyfriend, and Finley wondered whether that meant that she was no longer dating his best friend. They certainly did have a lot to catch up on. She was an old friend who he valued more than his fans, so he decided that he wanted to catch up with her instead of basking in the glory and admiration of his fans.
"Come on, let's go over there so we could talk to each other better," he said, gesturing toward the side of the pitch. Most of the people were flocking at the middle where Fin and Cori were standing close to. He wanted to earn themselves some privacy. He began to walk his way toward the further right side of the pitch, trusting that Cori was following him. It would be a bummer if she was more interested in chatting with his teammates, though.

Fin, of course, was being flirtatious as usual but Cori especially liked the moments when they could have a real conversation without all of the show. But the shameless flirting wasn't that bad, actually. As long as it didn't require any touching, but Fin knew not to do that. Truthfully, Cori hasn't told him about the curse but he knew not to get physical. She kind of regretted that right now but what choice did she have? "Well, thanks Fin." she smirked back. She was never sure how to handle flirting. In this moment she really wished she was better at it.
When his eyebrows raised Cori answered his teasing a little too soon with a strong, "Wouldn't that be nice?" the comment dripping with both sarcasm and truth. She shook her head a little and chuckled at herself. "I mean we are more than just your etc of the mill friends, promise." she smiled innocently at him.
She experienced a brief moment of distraction at this point. What if her father was somewhere in the crowd? She scanned the faces on the field... There was no way she'd find him in sick a crowded place. She didn't even know what he looked like. Next thing she knew, Finley was walking away from her and she followed to catch up. "Sorry, got distracted." she said, still distracted until she turned her attention back to Fin. "Bet they're used to you disappearing with girls after a game, right?" she joked.
@finley notes: Thanks! Though, Coris hair is a lot darker than in this picture.

Good old Fin here had been expecting to be followed by Coriander. However, he noticed that she was beside him yet and he quickly turned around to see if she was coming or not with raised eyebrows. He thought it would be a bummer if she wasn't willing to come along with him, because he was happy to see her again. Cori had been pretty important to him in the past and he only didn't think much about her nowadays because of his occupation with his job. But now that she was in front of him, he wanted to be able to interact with her as much as possible.
But luckily she did speed up to match his pace. She explained that she had been distracted, and Fin smiled in amusement. "Distracted, you say? It's quite sad to know that I have to compete for your attention now," he said jokingly. "But as long as you weren't staring at any of my male team mates, then I can live with it. You have to admit that none of them look as good as I do!" He was teasing and cocksure, as usual. Of course, his cockiness was the sporty and friendly type, if you could say it as such. He was never an arrogant prick, never that. Those were Slytherins, not well-meaning Gryffindors.
He chuckled when she made the gibe about folks getting used to him disappearing with girls. She was a clever and witty one, was Cori. Well, most Ravenclaws had a way with those traits, because those were traits that made up their house anyway. Although Finley isn't into the nerd revolution of Ravenclaws, he appreciated their sharp tongue. "Would you believe it if I told you that you're the only one? Until you decided to magically pop up a moment ago, the girls I've met on the field were too plain to be taken seriously." And, again, that was another joke. He had met some pretty good looking chics after games, but to be honest he never talked privately with him, so he wasn't exactly lying entirely. It wasn't an issue about beauty. The issue was about familiarity.
They finally reached a substantially distant spot, and Finley stopped walking. "Well, I reckon that no one could hear us from here," he murmured, glancing about himself before settling his gaze on Cori's face. "So...let's begin. How's school treating you, Cori? And are you still with Johnny?" Now that was what Finley was really curious about. She seemed to indicate that she had no boyfriend earlier, but he wanted to hear it officially whether she was still with his friend or not. He would not mind if she wasn't with John anymore, because relationships succeed and failed, especially the ones made when you were still very young. And besides, he would be more at liberty to flirt with her then (if she were completely single, though, but if not, what harm could it do if the boyfriend or whatever wasn't here?).

She laughed again and shook her head at his comment, "I'm sorry buddy, but orphans who are curious about their parents whereabouts often get distracted," she shrugged. He knew her history better than most... no, better than anyone. He was the only person she had told her entire history too, except the fact that she was cursed. But he knew about her muggle mother and her supposedly well to do wizard father. And how she had never met either of them. "Don't worry, I would never stare at your teammates over you," she rolled her eyes.
Cori shook her head when he said that she was the only one he had made this sort of gesture for. She bit her lip a little as she concentrated her attention on him. "Awe, come on Fin!" she started, gesturing to the crowd they had just left behind, "there are some gorgeous girls over there. You've just got to give them a chance!" she smirked. Really, he could do anything that he wanted and get any girl he wanted. So then why was he single?
Soon, the had stopped and Finley became a little more intense in his stance. He was asking her lots of questions and she shrugged a little as he asked them. She sighed, "First, school is good. Though I got paired up with this girl I hate in Defense class," she rolled her eyes, "but that's not important. And... no." She shook her head and looked awkwardly to the side, folding her arms across her chest once more. "We broke up a while ago, like a year ago. And then we tried making it work last month but..." she shrugged and looked back up, making eye contact with him. "I just didn't feel that way toward him anymore."

Finley remembered being told about Cori's harsh past, and because it was harsh, he wasn't about to forget it soon. It wasn't a typical childhood that most people had, so it had more of an impression in his brain. Fin was sure that he disliked Cori's father--to Fin, the man sounded like one of those moneyed scumbags who used women to serve their lust, and then toss them away once they were bored of them. As for the mother...Fin didn't know how to judge her yet, because he wasn't sure of her abandoning Cori was entirely her fault. She had probably been left staggering after Cori's father was out of the picture and couldn't support her...but he did know that she had been ill. He still thought that giving up your baby was wrong, but then again some situations must've been out of her control. Either way, he thought that it was a shame that two adults getting into affair resulted in a child who was left without her parents. But, that being said, either mother or father, or both of them, must've of been pretty hot to produce a beauty like her.
He wasn't sure what to respond to the comment. Fin wasn't the wisest person out there, which meant that he probably wasn't the best at giving sound advice and comfort either. And anyway, she had said it with some humor, although that could've been irony. So, he gave her an understanding smile instead, but he was careful not to show too much pity in the case that she was one of those people who attacked you for showing pity because they didn't want it.
Fin pretended to scowl when she implored him to give other girls a chance. "How can you say that without any jealousy?" he scoffed playfully. "Why would you be so eager to share me with other girls, Cori? That hurts more than you know." He wasn't good at keeping a grouchy face, though, and was soon breaking into a laugh. "But, like I said, you're one of a kind to me so just accept that already and don't argue." He grinned and winked at her.
Fin wrinkled his nose when she told him that she had to be paired up with a girl who she didn't like in class. "Must be a nasty Slytherin," he murmured, totally not knowing that the girl who she had been talking about was his cousin, Alice, who he thought was friendly. Well, she was, but he didn't know that she had a vendetta against Ravenclaws other than she had wanted to be one thanks to Philip.
He nodded sagely when she told him that she and Jacob had broken up. "Ah, I see...it happens," he remarked. Young people hooked up and broke up often, so it was nothing tragic. Such was the life of the new generation. "But hey, this could be fate telling you that it was Finley Abbott who you were destined to be with...you were just looking at the wrong person!" He chuckled and shrugged. "He and I were really close, though, so it's no wonder why you missed the target."

"Jealousy isn't my thing," and that was partly true. She wasn't jealous of who Fin dated, she was just jealous of the fact that he was actually able to date people. Heck, she was jealous of everyone because of that. It wasn't his fault that she couldn't touch anyone, was it? So she really couldn't take it out on him. "Hey Fin, let's be real for a second. I may be one of a kind but that's... not going to make this possible," she sighed and rolled her eyes, mostly at herself, "sorry Fin, I'm just touchy right now," Hah, touchy.
She chuckled a little as he said that her fight must have been with A Slytherin when it was in fact his cousin Alice. Well, that made things even more awkward than they already were. Cori often forgot that he was in fact the cousin of her worst enemy. "Yeah, something like that," she said, not wanting him to know exactly who the fight had been with. The girls had fought subtly most of the time, so Fin probably hadn't seen any of it. Especially since there were in different years and all different houses.
Now he was making jokes that were a little too real. Sure, she had liked Fin in the past, but mostly just as a close best friend. He was one of the only people who respected her need for space without needing an explanation, that was something right? Still, she liked him better when he wasn't surrounded by a crowd and they could talk one on one. She didn't have that with many people, "come on Fin, aren't you destined to be with just about everyone?" she joked.
She glanced back at the field were the team was getting ready to head back to the lockers, "Should I catch up with you... do you want to go get food or something?" She asked, gesturing to his teammates to let him know they were clearing the field.

Fin wasn't sure why he was going a little extra flirty with Cori than he usually did. Well, maybe he knew the reasons. When she had been with his best friend, he treated her more like a sister (in his standards) who he cared for and respected more than other girls--maybe he slipped in some flirting here and there, but he kept it more staid than he usually would. What choice did he have when she was dating someone he knew, anyway? But there was a quality to her that made him take her more seriously than he normally would have to other girls, and it didn't have to do with her dating anybody. While other girls were just pretty dolls to him, this was...Cori. It was just like that.
So why, then, he was being more catty than usual with her now? Well, maybe it had to do with the fact that he hadn't seen her in a while and she was single now--and looking ever so pretty. That didn't mean that he was disrespecting her--at least, those were not his intentions. She still meant a whole lot to him. She was a bestie. Oh well, he was a young man at the end of the day. One couldn't exactly fault him...although, if he was creeping her out, he felt more than obligated to give her the space she needed with reverence.
"Oh, um..." He didn't know exactly why she was feeling touchy as she described it, of course, because he couldn't read her mind. But he assumed it was because she was uncomfortable with the way he was bantering. "Sorry, Cor, I didn't mean to make you feel, uh, touchy." He chuckled lightly. "I'll calm it down a little...but, really, it's feels great to see you again." He smiled softly, taking in that sentence. He was happy to see a good friend again.
He smiled and lifted any eyebrow at her. "'Something like that'?" he repeated. That was a rather vague way to put it, but he could tell it was just someone unpleasant. "Yeah, I meet a lot of people like that, Cori, and let me tell you, it's worse when they're nasty Quidditch players." Ugh, the cheating and fouls. It was something that he wouldn't put his worst enemy through.
Fin chuckled when she made the joke about him being destined to be with everyone. "It may seem like that, but...if you look at me right now, you'll wonder if I'm ever destined for anybody." He shrugged. "It's mainly because of me, though. I'm not all that ready to commit into a relationship, yet," he said honestly. It was the truth, and he didn't see the harm in admitting that to Cori. She was one his best friends and chances were she pretty much knew that anyway. Fin grinned. "That's one thing you're better than me at, besides being a whiz." So her relationship with his buddy failed, but at least she had been in an actual relationship for a time.
He followed the direction of her gaze and saw that his teammates were evacuating out of the field. Ah, it was time to go change. He looked back at her when she spoke and nodded vigorously. "Definitely! Where do you want to eat at, Cori?" he asked excitedly. Eating out with Cori! He couldn't wait. He had to admit that it was better to bond over some good food, alone, than with stolen time after a completed game. In fact, he thought it would be a cool way of celebrating the victory he had won today. "I can eat anywhere. Wherever you want to chow, it'll be on me!"

"Oh, Fin..." she muttered, feeling bad now that she had gotten snappy. "It's good to see you too, I promise." She tried to convince him with her tone and her eyes that she really was happy to be seeing him again. That was the whole reason she came down onto the field. "It's not you. I just... have a lot going on," and she really did. Her and Ronan had found a plant that may take her curse away forever. Now she was just waiting to get the results. All she could do was wait, which was the worst feeling ever. Then she could date like a normal person, and maybe even date Fin. Well, if he was ever actually serious about dating anyone.
'Well, you know this person, actually..." she looked off to the side, away from him, "which is why I'm being obnoxiously vague." She chuckled a little bit. It was fun to be vague with Fin, she could tell that he wanted to know who she had been fighting with. "Well, you can always take it out on them physically on the pitch, right? This girl and I don't have that option," oh how she would have loved tossing a bludger in Alices direction without getting any sort of blame or punishment for it.
"I know the feeling, Fin and-" she didn't know if she wanted to say her thoughts now for they could actually sound sort of rude, and she was trying to be nice to the guy. She wanted to stay in touch this time and not get wrapped up in other things, losing site of one another. "Oh no, I'm not good at commitment. Well, not right now anyway..." she smiled at him, "And it's actually kind of good to know that you've got real feelings in there." There she said it. Hopefully he would take it as the compliment it was meant to be.
She couldn't help but let smile grow as he offered to pay for her food on their little outing. And he was getting pretty excited about it too. She didn't show her excitement as much as he did, but she did try to show that she was pleased. "Actually, there is this cool little Chinese place not far from here... no magic though," Cori added. She lived in the muggle world most of her life, so she was used to non magical restaurants

Fin could definitely understand it if Cori was going through stressful moments. He could even sympathize...maybe that was because she was a girl, and well, she was Cori. Perhaps if this was one of his guy friends he wouldn't have really tolerated the edginess. Guys were just kind of prideful like that. However, it was certainly different towards a girl who he cared for. And anyway, knowing her, she wasn't exactly someone who was stress-free. For one, she did not like to be touched. Although Finley knew better than to try to question her on that, he really thought that it was an odd thing. Something was definitely not right.
He nodded. "I totally gotcha. You know, if you ever need help with anything, or just someone to talk to when you're feeling down in the dumps, feel free to poke me," he said. "I'm always here to help. That's what friends are for, right?" He gave her an encouraging smile. Maybe it was none of his business, but if there was any way he could help, he would try to do it in a heartbeat. After all, some things were not in his control! It didn't help that he didn't know what was troubling poor Cori either, and because they were doing two totally different things in totally different places, it was more likely that her problem would be something that he wouldn't know a whole lot about...but then again, maybe he would! He didn't know the depths of his insight, especially if it had to do with relationships. He was about to joke that some people would tell her to keep away from him on the advice stuff, but he stopped himself. Fin was usually one who just said whatever jest came into his mind, but this time, he actually wanted to sound a little more assertive, as if he knew what he was talking about. If he actually wanted to be of help to Cori, he couldn't sound like someone who wasn't sure what he was saying. And he really did want to help her, if she decided his help was necessary. As already said, he wasn't the wisest and often didn't trust himself with saying comforting and supportive things if the case he would blunder, but...for Cori, he would try. And who's to say he wouldn't know what to say when the time came?
"Not that I'm trying to intrude or anything. But whatever the case, my mum often likes to say that the storm will pass soon. It might be turbulent right now, but later it'll be all right." That was definitely how he felt during Quidditch games! They could become frustrating while he was playing, but later all would be well and he'd look back with a shrug. He hoped that it would be the case for Cori. He hated to think that she would be stuck in her troubles for longer than was really necessary, to put it daintily.
Finley stared at her for a moment, really not knowing who she was talking about. "What? You're saying that I know her?" he asked, a little bewildered. However, his curiosity was naturally piqued because she mentioned that he knew this person, hence why she was being vague. Was she afraid of offending him? He couldn't think of a person who was bothering Cori that he would feel like defending. He tried to think about any nasty girls in school that he remembered. And then it hit him. "It's Elaine Duwhatever, isn't it?" he said, sounding graver than he'd expected him to sound. It was just that that chic was really creepy! Or that was the last time he had seen her, but still! He kind of wondered why Cori would try to be vague about someone like Elaine, though. Maybe she didn't like thinking about the girl. Before he could say anything else, though, Cori made the quip about him being able to take his anger on opponents on the field while she and that girl couldn't do anything about it. Finley chuckled. "Well, actually, no. As a Chaser, I can only be focusing on catching the Quaffle. I don't get to do anything to my adversary, sadly. So you're not alone there." Fin was definitely hotheaded when he was angry, so it was hard not to break some game rules and just land a fist in his opponent's face. Knowing Cori, she most likely did a better job at handling these sticky situations than he could ever.
He tilted his head to the side slightly, wondering what she was about to say before she cut off that sentence. He looked a little more amused than perplexed. They were friends, and Finley didn't mind if she was plainspoken to him about anything that was in her mind. "It's alright, Cori. You can be honest with me," he said. She went on to say that she wasn't good at commitment, either, and that she was glad that he had real feelings down there. If there was anything that Carson Abbott and his wife had taught Finley to be, it was to be an honest and genuine fellow. It wasn't spectacular to have real feelings, because he didn't really know how to have any other feelings. He definitely was not superficial or sneaky. "Haha, thanks...I'm glad about that too. And yeah, definitely go at your own pace with the commitment thing. It's not the end of the world if you don't have a boyfriend." Finley had never been in a serious relationship before--or maybe he had, but he couldn't quite remember being in one. He reckoned that it would be uncomfortable. How could he stick to one girl and pretend that she was a mini-wife to him when he didn't have enough respect for said girl? That was what he currently thought.
And luckily for him, he'd actually dined at muggle eateries before. That was courtesy of his muggleborn friends--he had plenty of them, and the Abbotts were definitely not people who scorned the muggle world. A Chinese place nearby? Hmm...Finley rubbed his chin, thinking for a moment. "I think I might've stopped by a restaurant like that before...is it called Liu's Pavilion?" he asked. That was the only Chinese place he could think of that was around the area. But he could be wrong! Perhaps she had come across a different one. Either way, it was all on him and he'd let her choose the place.

Coris smile grew as Fin offered to be a shoulder to lean on. Not that she would ever actually lean on him, but the thought was nice. The thought of having someone to talk to. She had friends at school, a few, but her best friend had just left for America... she was running out of people she trusted. "Thanks Fin. I'm counting on utilizing that offer," she said with a little smirky smile and a bite of her lip. She was nervous, giving someone her trust, but she had trusted Fin in the past hadn't she? What was so different now? "Your mum gives good advice," she nodded as he explained what she said when trials came around. Wouldn't it be nice to have a mother to give you leadership in that way? Guidance. That was what Cori wanted.
"Elaine Dupree? No, I would never get in a fight with her!" as tough as Cori was, she tended to stay away from people who looked so... uptight and in the background. That just meant they were waiting for the right moment to strike, and then strike hard. Not unlike a snake. "Well, you're lucky that you don't get hotheaded in that case," she added to his comment about being a chaser, secretly hoping he would forget about the girl she had mentioned bickering with...
Honest. What a concept. Cori was always honest, even if she didn't tell the entire truth she rarely lied. Ravenclaws generally looked down on that sort of thing. "Exactly, all about the pace," she agreed, skipping over the honesty thing. She would try to be, at least a little bit, right?
"Liu's Pavilion... eh, sounds about right," she said as they continued to walk. They had to stop by the locker rooms so Fin could get changed and drop off his gear. Cori waited outside, completely aware that many girls eyes were on her... when Fin came out, she quickly ducked beside him as they made their way towards the restaurant.
Once there, they ordered a table for two and took seats across from each other. It was nice, being in the muggle world for a while. She felt as though she fit in well here, even.
