Viola hated visitors, but apparently everyone in the world insisted that they absolutely had to see them. Most of the time they pretended to be asleep to avoid anyone and anything from bothering them, but the nurses - the sneaky assholes - had started telling them they had visitors when they were getting dosed with potions for the day, so they couldn't pretend not to hear the announcement. Temporary muteness they would allow, but temporary deafness? Definitely not. So, Viola's visitor for the day strolled through the door. They looked the man-boy (they weren't sure which word to use, since they were fairly certain the person was the same age as them, and they didn't know what terminology to use for themself anymore) up and down for a moment. There was a spark of familiarity, but nothing solid until he spoke.
"My name is Albus Potter." He introduced himself, and then it made sense. The Potter boy was in their year, but since Viola hadn't made a point to know any Hogwarts kids, he was just about as anonymous to them as every other body in the castle. They didn't have a clue as to why Albus would bother visiting them, other than that his cousin had been the Champion for Hogwarts, but that was about as tenuous of a connection as saying that one of Elias's plethora of half-siblings would want to visit them because he was the Champion for Durmstrang. And, okay, one of the wolf's half-siblings had visited him, but that wasn't the reason why. Viola didn't speak - of course they didn't, they were mute - but it didn't appear to unnerve the Potter kid. He waited a few seconds before speaking again. "I work as a part of an intelligence agency." He explained. Right, because he looked so intelligent. Viola didn't really care why he was there - they just wanted him to talk, and then get out so they could continue to sulk in peace. But then, Albus said something that took their breath away.
"I have sources that claim that Maria da Silva Povoa is alive in Germany." Viola didn't think. They just did. And in this case, doing meant throwing the nearest thing - a flowerpot of some sort - at Albus's head. The boy sidestepped their sloppy throw, and actually smiled at it, as if they were something amusing instead of someone that was extremely capable of disemboweling him. Viola threw their legs over the side of the bed and began to storm towards Albus, but he was already sliding out of the door. "I've left my contact information with the nurses, if you want to speak more on the matter." He said through the door. Viola huffed out a breath before stalking back to their bed, knowing if they were found out of bed and fuming there would be hell to pay.
Viola continued to brood for the next four hours, though not a word passed through their lips, as was typical of them. They just didn't understand. Why would Albus know that they cared about Maria? Okay, that was a stupid question. Anyone with eyes would have known that Viola cared about Maria, even after the breakup, which had been messy, to say the least. But that didn't change the fact that Maria was dead - no amount of caring could bring her back to life. Maria was gone.
Wasn't she?
