Hey y'all! So the tech team has been discussing some changes in calendar stuff and we would love the opinions of the rest of the site! It's spring break season! And for a lot of you, that means mid-terms which will soon turn into end of year exams and then finally summer! Summer can be a pretty busy time for a lot of us. Summer classes, full time or new jobs, family vacations, etc. So the tech team had the idea of extending the calendar a little bit.
Basically, instead of going month by month there would be three OOC 9 month periods. One 9 month period would be term 1 of the IC school year. The next 9 month period will be term 2. Then finally, the last 9 month period will be the summer months. We feel this will put less pressure on those who are going to become busy with the upcoming end of irl school stuff as well as those with full time jobs who find it harder to post currently within our month-to-month timeline. Plus, with no specified month being in play you can let a thread drag out a little if you need to, or you can skip ahead in the 9 month period for your own plot reasons or thread timeline.
Now, you may be wondering "how is this going to affect our plot?" If anything, it may just go a little bit slower but a huge plus to this is going to be that it will allow more time for subplots. Your own as well as site subplots. With more time, it will allow threads with deadlines for posting a little bit longer of a time before your post is due. It will also allow more time for staff to come up with potential, fun subplots that could aid in making the site plot more juicy! Tech team believes the pros kind of outweigh the cons and we'd love your feedback!
