hello there, my name is lily potter but you can call me lily, lil, or lils. i'm fifteen so that makes me a 5thyear at Hogwarts, where I reside in gryffindor house. You could say I'm brave, daring, & chivalrous but I personally think that I am curious, adventurous, and playful. People say I look a lot like anastasia ivanova, but I don't really see it...

Lily is an energetic and free willed young girl much like her mother. It's a result of several years keeping up with her brothers and being in the public eye have given her a stiff upper life and a nerves of steal or so she says. She knows how to bat her eyes to the press and seem like the perfect little lady (she perfected the act on her father as a child) and she can handle herself well under pressure but she'd much rather give a quick 'no comment' than go on and on about her life. She is not a background type of person like her brother Albus but she absolutely hates being the center of attention like James. Rather she prefers to keep near the center of a large group and relax while feeling included. She has issues with not being part of anything and that stems from having so much close family that the cousins naturally split into their different groups with Lily trying to be part of as many as possible. She's the playful sort who loves being around people and making them smile, a trait she picked up from James over the years.
Lily has been called a little odd because she is an admitted believer in creatures that others say aren't real. Her "Aunt" Luna gave her a Quibbler when she was really little covering many fantastic creatures that are labeled as 'non-existent' that it sparked her imagination. Since then she has always loved the Quibbler though she doesn't believe everything it writes she is much more inclined to believing in things than some and is a fair bit more open minded than some of her rough and tumble Housemates. A fan of organized chaos if someone were to go into her room back home they would realize just how many random interests Lily seems to have from the posters and clippings covering nearly every inch of her walls displaying her love for anything from Dragons to Muggle Musicians.
She is a little fire ball, much like her mother, who loves pranks and a good bit of mischief and has a slight temper to her. Ever since Lily was a little girl she trailed after her eldest brother James giggling madly as he pulled prank after prank causing her to develop a mischievous side of her own albeit much tamer. Though she doesn't pull the pranks herself she cheers James on every step of the way and always enjoys the good time after often slipping him supplies with nothing more than a playful wink and a bright smile -- she loves the chaos but admits she's not very good at causing it. She's always been very care free and for the most part a sweet girl if not a little stubborn and head strong.
Her best class is Defense Against the Dark Arts and she's a master of
the bat-bogey hex learning from her elder cousins who refused to tell her exactly where they learned it though they hinted Uncle George might have been the source. She's always trying to live up to the name of the only Potter daughter doing her best to be everything people expect from her even if she's not entirely sure what that is. Her family means everything to her and Lily will do just about anything to feel like she's a central piece in it. For the most part Lily is a very grounded young lady who has an opinion and stands by it. It's very hard to change her mind once she's set it about someone or something which is one of her more fatal flaws.

The Potter family was all but revered after the war and all eyes kept glued to the small yet growing family. First there was James and then little Albus -- two boys who were sure to live up to the Potter name who were all but spitting images of their father. Eventually the young couple decided to try for one more child and that was little Lily. When news spread that the Potters final child was in fact a little girl Ginny became the center of attention. Gifts poured in for the little Potter Girl who was yet to be named as far as the public was concerned. Most of the items never actually made it into her nursery and were rather donated after severe fear of someone taking the opportunity to send a dangerous item to the now pregnant Mrs.Potter. Instead her very pink nursery was decorated by the entire Weasley clan filled to the brim with gifts from her close family. Eventually the whole parade of presents ended when the little girl was born with a mop of bright red hair and both parents knew instantly her name would simply have to be Lily. Ginny insisted on her middle name being Luna after her best friend Luna Lovegood to keep with the trend of naming their kids after important figures. From the moment she was born she seemed to bond with her father and growing up she's always been close with Harry as a complete Daddy's girl.
Lily was brought home and life moved on like it always does after the first month or so of fan faire well wishes. The little tot grew like all children do trying her best to keep up with her large family by crawling and falling down. A lot. The first time she tried to walk and fell down was her fathers undoing, he rushed to his little girl and that was really when she started to become a Daddy's girl and poor Harry never really had the upper hand again. From the get go if she was scared, bored, or in trouble Lily would become all teary eyed and beg her father to make it all better and over half the time it worked in her favor unless she did something really bad. Somehow she managed not to become a spoiled brat, probably because of who her brothers were as they kept her grounded and from realizing her potential as a true manipulator. Her entire childhood Lily did her best to keep up with her brothers often dragging Albus into her silly games of "find the nargle" and other such nonsense she learned from Auntie Luna. She was very loved and protected as a child with her brothers and father always being her knights in shining armor it was rare that she had to actually fight her own battles as a child even if she wanted to. She never meant to chose a favorite sibling but as she grew so did her brothers and so did James. James was a wild fire blazing his own path the way he wanted and Lily often idolized that. She took to following him and cheering him on over any little prank and cried her eyes out when he went to school only being consoled with the promise of letters constantly. It wasn't that she liked Albus less, she simply had more in common with their elder brother. Lily still loved Albus just as much as James but James was such a bright person and everyone was drawn to him including her.
When Lily was about eight she got her hands on a History of the Second Wizarding War and Its Horrors -- a text all about the war and the dark wizards. She was really young and her parents probably wouldn't like her to be reading that sort of thing but she stubbornly wanted to learn more about it without her parents or family members down playing things to keep her from having night terrors. She tried reading it but a lot of it had a bunch of big words and complicated theories that she didn't fully understand. The one thing she did understand was the chapter on Greyback, she read it in detail horrified by how graphic it truly was but also trying to prove to herself she was a grown up and it backfired horribly. It was the biggest mistake of her life because she had nightmares for days on end often crying in her sleep but too afraid to admit she did something she wasn't suppose to and she'd get in trouble. Eventually after several weeks of her waking up crying in the middle of the night she had a really bad dream and ran to her parents room begging to sleep in their bed. She's never really been able to see a werewolf the same way again and has been very skittish around werewolves up to this point even though she's never actually met one transformed and knows that most are relatively harmless. It's irrational and crazy and she knows this but to this day she is still terrified of the thought of ever meeting one, at least transformed though she's still incredibly nervous if a werewolf is in human form.
It was nice as a little girl to have the support of her family but as she grew her need to be protected shrunk. Lily went from being the pigtailed little sister who needed her brothers to keep her safe to the pony-tailed young youth who was waiting for her chance to go to Hogwarts and was biting at the bit. James left first leaving Albus and Lily to their own devices so it wasn't so bad at first. After all she wasn't left alone yet, but the next year she accompanied her family to see Albus and James both off leaving her alone for the entire year!! It wasn't fair! Lily spent most of that school year sulking and writing her brothers a million letters telling Albus to tell her everything about Slytherin and begging James to pull a prank and tell her every detail. She drove her mother crazy and was often sent for visits to her grandparents so Ginny could have a break from her now bored and lonely child who waned her mother to play with her every few minutes. This was really when she started bonding with Hugo and Louis who were also left behind and bored for the school year making the Burrow into a loud and crazy place.
On her eleventh birthday Lily spent the entire morning staring wistfully out of the windows barely enjoying her breakfast even though it was specially made just for her all because her letter hadn't arrived yet. It wasn't until the owl delivering her letter swooped in did she truly began enjoying her breakfast and birthday. The entire day she was chatting away begging her father to take her shopping right then and there much to her mothers amusement and doing her best to convince her brothers to help her make sure she had everything she'd need even if it wasn't on her "approved" school list. After a huge shopping spree where she probably got way more than she actually needed for school Lily spent the rest of her time bouncing excitedly waiting for when she would finally finally get to go to Hogwarts with her brothers. Lily spent most of the ride on the train with her cousin Hugo laughing and bouncing with excitement discussing how they'd simply haveto be in Gryffindor so they could have all their classes together. She felt really weird with a bunch of the other first years whispering behind her back as she chattered away with Hugo as they talked about where they'd be and what they wanted to do their first year at school.
She found it was really hard to be known as Lily Potter and not 'James Potters little sister' especially by some of the older girls who seemed to just want to flirt with her brother. This was the first time she felt truly jealous and possessive over her big brother in her life -- she hated seeing the girls twittering around him! They all looked so stupid and air headed that she was truly disgusted when he would actually pay attention to any of them. At first she did her best to distract him as often as possible but eventually realized it was a losing battle by her third year, there were too many of them and it was just too exhausting. Lily eventually outgrew most of her jealousy but that doesn't mean she likes either of her brothers "love" interests. Years passed and Lily has slowly grown into her own skin and stopped worrying about her brothers so much and tried to focus more on her group of friends and her last few years at Hogwarts. That all changed this year when the first year was killed and though she wont admit it to anyone she's very freaked out by the whole ordeal causing her to eye everyone suspiciously and be very jumpy.
