Being the new girl on the grounds of Ilvermorny was scary, though she wasn’t one of them, but she remembered being one. Remembered being in a class full of them all, little eleven-year-olds running around like chickens with their heads chopped off. Luckily, she was no longer one of those little scared students that didn't understand where they were or what they were to do, but she enjoyed watching them. Coming from the background she came from, leaving behind her abusive stepmother, she felt free. But she realized that the horrible woman thought that she won, finally having talked her father into sending her away to boarding school. Her father had explained to her what exactly was happening, that it wasn’t to please her but to bring her a magical education experience, an experience that coursed through her veins. He didn’t know the truth though, that the woman was a bitch and he was blind to it. The time had flown by though since she arrived at Ilvermorny, a year ago, and had been sorted into the Wampus house. Enough time that she felt like her old self again, but again, people that rubbed her the wrong way got the short end of the stick. Over the years her temper has gone through the roof, and she couldn’t help it. So there Bianca sat, her nose in a Shakespearian novel that rested in her lap. Her legs were pulled beneath her as she sat in the warmth of the air, there was still a small breeze that blew her hair back as she read.

Ashley wasn't quite sure how she felt about being in a new place. Sure, she knew her position here, but that didn't make the newness of it all more comfortable. There were so many people around her, and lots of them were the type of people that her parents would not want her associating with. How in the world was she supposed to know who the elite were, when they all had to wear stupid robes? She spent a while trying to find someone she recognized from one of her parent's parties, but so far she hadn't had any luck. At the moment, she had a bit of a different problem. She wasn't quite sure where her next class was. She didn't have it for another hour, so it wasn't like she was in a panic or anything, but Ashley was trying to find someone she could trust enough to tell her where it was. Or maybe she was looking for a friend or something. She wasn't entirely sure. It wasn't long before she saw someone who looked vaguely familiar ... maybe they'd attended a party together once? She knew she hadn't spoken to the girl, because she would have remembered that. Ashley decided to try and talk to her and see if this girl might be able to help. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but do I know you?" she asked, "You look very familiar ..." she looked at the girl more intently, trying to decipher whether or not she actually should recognize her. Minding her own business, reading, usually, people were scared enough to leave her alone. She was often a bit rude towards others, except for Katherine on a good day. There were a few other friends that she had that could get past her annoying tone and hostile attitude, but there were others that just rubbed her the wrong way. However, a new voice rang out that drew her from her book, her attention snapping up to a blonde chick that questioned about if she knew her, and that she looked familiar. “I don’t know, do you?” she questioned with a raised eyebrow, “Sorry sweetie, you don’t look familiar to me,” she added with a shrug.

The girl wasn't being particularly rude, but she didn't answer Ashley's question at first and Ashley frowned. She was normally so good with faces, so what was going on here? Then the girl answered her and Ashley deflated a little. "I'm sorry, I just ... you look so familiar." She paused a moment, realizing she was about to sound like a crazy person. "My father has lots of parties and invites lots of people. Does the name Darnell Fontaine meant anything to you?" If it didn't, this girl would probably think she was insane. Maybe Ashley was. She felt like an idiot, which wasn't a common feeling for her. Oh, this sucked. "I'm his daughter ... Ashley," she added after a moment of hesitation. Bianca Alia Rivera

Fontaine – the name didn’t sound familiar to her in the slightest, but then again, she didn’t pay attention to names. Faces she recognized, names she wasn’t so good with. She shook her head, “No—not really,” she said, drawing out her words for a moment before the girl introduced herself as some guy’s daughter, and she found herself nodding her head. The hesitation was clear on her face, her words stuttering a bit as if she were fearful of even saying the words to sound more insane. But to Bianca, she didn’t sound insane; she just seemed like a lost little pup that needed some guidance. “Well, Ashley, I guess I have one of those faces,” she said with a small chuckle. Why was she acting so sickly sweet? Because a girl needed to make friends, right? “I’m Bianca,”

Well crap. The other girl didn't recognize her or her father's name. That didn't necessarily mean that Ashley was wrong, but she probably was, which she didn't like at all. When she thought she recognized this girl, she couldn't help but feel excited. Ashley was a social being and wanted to make friends, especially ones that were on her level socially. Apparently she was going to have to look even harder for those. She gave a small smile and a nod when the girl said she had one of those faces. What could she say to that. She introduced herself as Bianca and Ash's smile grew slightly. "Nice to meet you Bianca. Uhh ... sorry I bothered you. I can leave you to your studying now." What else was she supposed to do?! It didn't seem like this girl was really interested in meeting her or talking with her or anything. Ash might as well leave her be. If she wanted to talk, she could say something. Bianca Alia Rivera

She smiled slightly, “It is nice to meet you as well. And don’t worry about it, care to join me?” she questioned as she closed her book. She did need a small break from what she was doing, and chatting with someone that wasn’t Katherine would be a nice change. “How do you like Ilvermorny so far? Tell me a bit about yourself?” she questioned rapidly, giving the girl no room to object to answering really.

Ashley didn't know why she felt so shy. Normally she was very confident and sure of herself, but right now she was out of her element. Trying to talk with someone that she thought she knew, but really didn't. It was an uncomfortable situation she found herself in and Ash really didn't know how to handle that. Bianca said that it was nice to meet her and then ... invited Ashley to join her? She felt a smile grow on her face and she nodded. "Sure!" She moved to sit down beside the other girl, feeling her normal attitude coming back now that she knew the other girl wasn't frustrated with her. "I love Ilvermorny! The school is really neat and I love the classes they offer. I mean, I wish I knew a few more people, but my parents want me to be ... careful with the sort of friends I make." Really, her parents just wanted her to make friends with people that had the same social standing as her. She didn't even know if Bianca was one of those people, but she approached her because she thought she recognized her, so it was all with the right intentions, right? She shrugged as the other girl asked her to tell a bit about herself. "Umm ... I'm the only girl in my family. I have two older brothers and a younger one. I like to shop and I love singing. I like learning and doing well in school too. I'm excited to finally be here." She smiled at the older girl. "I don't know what else to say. What about yourself?" Bianca Alia Rivera

Bianca frowned deeply as the girl sat beside her and began explaining that she enjoyed the school but wished for more friends, or rather people she knew, but her parents told her to be careful. “They told you to be careful? What are they worried that you’ll get murdered by a random student? Oh—I see, your parents are worried you’ll socialize with people of lesser blood than your family?” she questioned with a raised eyebrow. Bianca wasn’t a pureblood, but she also wasn’t someone that came from muggle parents. If the latter was the case, she probably wasn’t even allowed to socialize with Bianca herself and felt somewhat offended. However, she did not comment on this, hiding one’s feelings was the best thing to do. She shrugged her shoulders, “My mom passed when I was young, a complicated birth that she didn’t make it through along with my little brother. So, it’s just me and my father – and his witch of a wife. But I’m glad you are enjoying your time here, it’s a home away from home I say.” she said with a fake plastered on smile. She shared too much, honestly. “I’m also a half-blood, should probably get that out of the way. I get very into reading, especially classical and Shakespeare, and I did gymnastics for a while back home.”

The other girl was frowning now and Ashley couldn't help but wonder what she'd said wrong. Did she just ruin any chances she had of being friends with this girl? She nodded as the girl repeated her statement about her parents asking her to be careful, but then she was asking what they were worried about. Ashley's eyes widened. "No! No, I don't think so. It's more ... they want people with a high position in society. Like, they don't want me making friends with people who only want to be my friend to take advantage of me? I don't know, am I making any sense?" Ashley was babbling, somewhat frantically. She didn't want to offend the girl or make her upset, she honestly didn't know what she was supposed to say. She needed to watch her words better in the future so she didn't get herself into these sorts of messes. Ashley listened as Bianca told a bit about herself and her family, smiling at the end when she said that Ilvermorny was a home away from home. "I like it," Ashley jumped in for a second. She really did. It was like this place had become a part of her in the few short months since she'd been here. Ashley shrugged. "I don't care if you're a half-blood," she answered honestly, giving a tentative smile. "I like reading too, though I haven't ever read Shakespeare. Do you have any of his books that I could borrow?" Maybe that would help her make friends with the older girl. Ashley desperately wanted them to be friends. Bianca Alia Rivera

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE ARE THE NEW AMERICANA [attr="class","next"] This chick was quick to refute her statement and what she believed her parents were worried about and make things straight. But to be honest, Bianca wasn’t so sure that this girl knew exactly what her parents truly meant and instead had her own ideology of what she believed her parents were worried about. Nodding her head, but the understanding not reaching her eyes as she held herself cautious, she began speaking; “Oh yeah—total sense. I wouldn’t want you to make friends with people that take advantage of you either.” She laughed, “Stick with me, and you’ll never have to worry about that. I know how to pick friends,” she said with a wink in the girl’s direction. ‘I don’t care if you’re a half-blood,’Those words caused a smirk to appear on her face, but she didn’t comment aloud. You might not, but what about your parents, she thought to herself as she listened to Ashley go on about liking to read but never reading any Shakespeare and she gasped. “Do you like plays? Or poetry, I have a book on both of what he’s good at.” she questioned as she pulled her bag closer to her and began digging through her bag, “I usually keep his poetry on hand. But if you prefer plays, I have just the one for you I can give to you next time I see you.” she added. The two of them weren’t in the same house, which was made obvious to her by the house sigil on her uniform. “Aaaa-ha!” she exclaimed as she pulled the warn book of Shakespeare’s poetry out of her bag.

The other girl seemed to warm up to Ash a little when she tried to explain what she thought her parents meant by them wanting her to be careful. Ashley gave a small, soft laugh as the girl agreed. She wasn't entirely sure if Bianca was being sarcastic or not, until she offered to let Ashley hang around with her. Was she really going to help Ash pick out good friends that would be there for her? Ashley grinned as the girl winked. "Sounds like a great plan to me! Thanks." Bianca was obviously stunned by the fact that Ashley never read Shakespeare before and she shrugged. "I've never had the opportunity." She thought for a moment, "I like plays and poetry, so I'll take whatever you have!" Ashley was honestly excited at the idea of being able to read Shakespeare soon that she didn't care what came first. She reached forward when Bianca held up a book. "You'd really let me borrow this?" Ashley bit her lips while staring at the books, then she grinned at her new friend. "I promise I'll take good care of it." She knew her reaction was a little extreme, but she didn't care. Ashley was excited! Bianca Alia Rivera

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE ARE THE NEW AMERICANA [attr="class","next"] Bianca was a sociable girl, or at least, she was trying to be again. After her father remarried and her new “mother” was an absolute bitch, things went sour within Bianca. The abuse and the hurtful words had turned her cold and cautious, broken beneath a hard exterior. Or at least, it was trying to. Escaping her new mother’s wrath by attending Ilvermorny meant that she had the chance to fix anything that the older woman did to her, or at least, try to hold onto the old Bianca she was. Attempting to befriend the blonde girl, that was a start in that direction, and she seemed to take to her quickly. Bianca rolled her eyes, shaking her head, “That is truly sad. Shakespeare is a classic.” she breathed out as she listed to the girl speak about liking both and would take whatever she had. And then came time for when she held out the warn and tattered book that was Shakespeare’s poetry. The girl seemed shocked as she delicately took the old thing from her hands, quickly promising that she would take good care of it. Bianca smiled, “Of course—and when you are done with it, I will give you my favorite play by him for you to read. That way you can say you’ve read some things of his,” she said truthfully as the book changed holders.

Ashley shrugged, "Never had the chance? Or is that a terrible excuse?" She wasn't really sure if the girl was annoyed or just stating her opinion when she said it was sad. Still, she thought that she and Bianca were getting along well enough. They could probably be friends, as long as that was what the older girl wanted. Ashley was more than excited about that idea. Ashley took the book carefully, a small smile starting to cover her face. She was very excited for this opportunity to read the book. "Oooh I'm excited!" Ashley's enthusiasm was that of an eleven-year-old, aka dramatic, but she couldn't really help herself. She loved reading and she was sure that this book and Bianca's others would be great. A bell chimed in the distance and Ashley jumped, "Oh, I'm sorry. I have to get to class. I'll see you around Bianca?"

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE ARE THE NEW AMERICANA [attr="class","next"] Bianca shrugged her shoulders, “Not a terrible excuse but also not the best. But I can let you slide. I didn’t mean to sound rude when saying it was ‘sad’ it’s just a little sad that the wizarding community barely knows him,” she said truthfully. Many of the people she had spoken to, especially purebloods, had never heard of the man and the legend. They seemed exiled from the muggle world and everything within it. The enthusiasm that oozed from Ashley made her grin; she was excited that the girl was going to give her father author a try. “You likely will. I want to know your opinion once you are done,” she said with a smile as she watched Ashley disappear for her class, leaving Bianca alone once more.
