Brandon could hardly contain his excitement. He knew he shouldn't over-do it, but for the first time since his accident, he was actually playing songs on the piano again. It took ages to get through all the healing and physical therapy. He'd been trying the piano daily since moving in with his best friend, but to no avail. A few weeks ago his fingers started being able to play scales and he was slowly working his way back up to his songs. Today the scales and exercises came a little more easy than he expected, so he decided to try for a song. And it worked! His fingers were finally able to reach the notes, and play somewhat fluidly. It wasn't anything in comparison to what he'd done before the accident, but it was more than he expected. He was so distracted with the piano that he entirely forgot to get ready for his date with Rosie. That is, he forgot until he heard the doorbell ring. Brandon jumped to his feet, a wide grin on his face as he rushed to the door. Surely Rosie would be as excited about this as he was, right? He threw the door open, beaming at her- not even thinking that it could be anyone else. "Rose, come here! I have to show you something," he told her, reaching for her hand so he could pull her into the apartment and close the door behind her. If she'd let him. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie made her way from ireland to London for some plans with Brandon. They had kept the plans vague because she didn’t want to push him to do too much, even though she knew that he was healing well, she still worried that anything could hinder his process and she didn’t want to be responsible for that at all. Rosie loved coming to London, as much as she loved living in Dublin, the city of her birth and the place where her family was, she loved the big city, she loved all the excitement and all of the opportunities that it offered her. She loved that all of her friends were here. The city was large, but her world within the city felt so small and connected. She felt a lot closer to everything in London.
Rosie arrived at her boyfriends flat and knocked on the door. The door opened fairly quickly and Brandon was standing there with a smile on his face. Rosie found herself being pulled into the apartment as he closed the door behind her. “What’s going on? Is everything okay?” she asked him.

Rosie looked very surprised when he pulled her inside, but Brandon didn't really care. He was so excited to show her that he could play again, he hardly registered her surprised. "Everything's great!" He told her, releasing her hand so he wasn't dragging her around. "Come on, I need to show you something," Brandon announced. He was practically dancing as he made his way to the room where his piano was. Once inside the room, he looked at Rosie. "I can play again." He moved to stand beside the piano and then sat on the bench. He looked up at her and patted the other half of the bench. "You can sit here if you want?" He gave a quick laugh. "Also, this isn't going to be our entire date, I just wanted to show you." Brandon paused a second. "You don't mind, right?" He didn't expect her to, but Brandon also didn't want to make her do something she didn't want to do. rose harriet granger-weasley

Brandon was in such high spirits and his happiness was infectious. Rosie, who was normally a very happy and smiley person anyway, couldn’t help the biggest smile take over her face as he insisted that everything was great and lead her over to his piano. He could play again, he told her. After months now of him healing and resting, he was able to play the piano again. Piano was easier to play than his guitar, she was sure, because it was a little less technical and requires less small movements, which was understandably easier for him. But he had come along way. She remembered still when he couldn’t walk or stand or even move his neck or any other part of his body. That was awful.
“You can?” she asked gleefully as she sat with him at the piano bench. He then clarified that she wanted him to play, or at least, didn’t mind him doing so and she shook her head. “Of course I don’t. I want you to play for me!” she admitted eagerly. It was the truth. She loved his music, she always had. She was also eager to see him do what he loved again after the months that he wasn’t able to.

Rosie seemed to be just as happy as he was about the fact that he could play the piano now. Brandon couldn't help but beam back at her when she asked if he could play. He could tell that it was more a rhetorical question than anything else, but he still nodded in excitement. "I can!" he confirmed. She was sitting beside him now and he couldn't wipe the grin off his face as he touched the keys on his piano gently. "Good. Just wait until you see what I have planned for you," he told her. "Do you remember the song that I wrote for you?" He'd only ever played it for her on his guitar, but the song was originally designed for piano and he had a feeling she would love it even more. "Here," he said as he started to play it. He closed his eyes as he played, letting his fingers flit over the keys familiarly. They knew what they were doing. A few minutes later, when the song was over, he looked over at her, curious to see what she would think of the piano version of her song. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie felt her cheeks blush when he asked her if she remembered the song that he had written for her, “yes, of course I do.” she admitted. Honestly, for a while she couldn’t get it out her her head, let along forget it. That song had meant so much to her, it was the first time that anything romantic had happened to her. He also played it for her right before he asked her to be his girlfriend, and, just a few days before he was in his accident. It wasn’t fair that he hadn’t been able to play music sense and it broke Rosie’s heart. But the fact that he was sitting back at the piano today made her feel all giddy for him. She was so excited to hear what he had planned to play for her. He began playing the song he wrote for her, which sounded a bit different on the Piano than it had on the guitar, naturally, but was still lovely. She smiled, beaming from ear to ear and couldn’t stop a happy tear or two from welling up in her eye while she listened and watched him play so naturally. “It’s lovely! I’m so glad you can play again.” she admitted with a happy nod and leaned him to kiss his cheek.

Brandon was pleased, but not surprised, when Rosie said that she remembered the song he played for her. Good. He liked having a song that was just theirs, that he could play with her knowing that it was just meant for her, that it was hers. He couldn't play it without thinking of her, which was part of the reason he hadn't played it on the guitar or even tried to think of it when she left to go to America. That song was Rosie to him. He beamed at her when she said that it was lovely. He turned his head when she moved to kiss his cheeks, so that they were kissing one another. He chuckled as he pulled away a bit. "Me too," he whispered, reaching up to play with her hair. He pulled back the tiniest bit. "Okay, so what do you want to do now? I'm all yours for the rest of the day." Brandon was curious to see what she'd want to do, and ready to give it a go, now that he'd played for her. rose harriet granger-weasley

Brandon moved his head when she went in to kiss him and their lips met. Rosie smiled into the kiss, he was so sweet. When they pulled away he admitted that he was also glad that he could play again and then went on to ask her what she wanted to do for the rest of the day, of which, he was all hers. She liked the sound of that and let a little smirk crawl onto her face. “Well how are you feeling today? Think you’re up for a little walk? It’s nice out.” She admitted. “We can walk around the city a bit and then get some food when we wander upon a good looking place?” she suggested. Rosie was very content to just spend time with her boyfriend, especially after having been gone for so long, and, after coming back to see how upset it all had made him. She was glad to be getting things back to normal. Or, to figure out what their normal was.

He loved her mischievous smirk. He could tell Rosie was happy and Brandon honestly couldn't remember a time when he'd felt so happy either. Life just felt peaceful and right ... things were going well with getting his music back on track. Soon he might even be able to go see someone about that recording contract Zander said he could help Brandon with. Hopefully. Brandon just wanted to play and at least he knew his friend understood that. Rosie seemed to as well, which was definitely a good thing. "I am feeling up to a walk and food and whatever you want," he said, rising from the piano bench and taking Rosie's hand in his. "In fact, I happened to run into a little restaurant I think you might like ..." he wiggled his eyebrows at her teasingly. "You ready to go?"

He agreed that he was feeling up for a walk and she was so happy to hear that he was feeling like himself again. After the past weeks during his healing process, Rosie had began to think that he might never be back to the same person he was before, there might always be something different. And in a way there was, the tragedy had changed him, as it had changed everyone. But sitting with him now, it was almost easy to forget that it all happened. It was so easy to just move on, and that was a feeling that Rosie reveled in. When her boyfriend that he had happened upon a little spot he thought that she’d like, she smiled and nodded, “Ooh then I can’t wait to see it.” she agreed with a small giggle from excitement. She stood up and allowed him to lead the way out of the flat. The air felt nice against her face as they walk down the streets of muggle London, it was such a nice day, a bit cloudy, but lovely for London.

This felt so right. After everything they'd been through and all the miscommunications, he was so glad to be finally going on a walk with Rosie, his girlfriend. All he wanted to do was be with her. He grinned and kissed her cheek when she said she couldn't wait to see it. "Oh you will." They walked out of the building and started down the street. It was nice to just stroll with her, that he actually could. It was a miracle he could even walk now. "So ... I know I should have asked this ages ago, but how was America? What all did you do there?" He'd been so upset about her leaving that he hadn't talked with her about it hardly at all. Now that she was back and he knew that she still cared about him, he could ask about it. He wanted to know what she'd done rose harriet granger-weasley

Brandon insisted that she’d love the place he was taking her as they walked out of the apartment building and down the streets of London. She was glad that he was up for a walk today, she was glad that he was able to walk again period. As they walked he asked about America, she thought for a minute. She wasn’t sure what to say. Honestly, it was one of the best decisions of her life, to go. However, she felt like it was still a sore subject since going meant abandoning him when he needed her and acting selfishly. “It was great, I mean it was what people write books about: two strangers embarking on a crazy trip together.” she shrugged. It really was crazy to think back on. She and Georgie had never really spoke before she decided to pay for the two of them to go to America. She still could barely believe she asked her parents to pay for such a thing, or, that they agreed. “It was unplanned and stressful and hectic.” she admitted with a smile on her face. It was everything she hated yet she had loved it so much. "I missed you though." she added.

Rosie didn't seem to know exactly what to say when Brandon asked about America. In all honesty, he was a little surprised that he was asking about it in the first place. Her leaving so suddenly to go on a random trip to another country ... well, to put it lightly it definitely put a strain on their relationship. However, her return fixed things immensely. It was easy to see now that not everyone that left meant to leave forever. Rosie truly cared for him, just as he did for her. Breaking them apart would take much more than a trip. When she began to speak, he turned his attention to her, listening with interest. Honestly, he didn't know much about America and he was quite curious. He chuckled, "So are you wanting to write a book about it?" he teased, nudging her lightly with his own shoulder. She explained how it was stressful and hectic, but she was smiling. "In a good way?" he prodded. "Did you see any monuments? Which states did you go to?" He didn't know much about the USA, but he could ask questions. He smiled softly when she said that she missed him, reaching to take her hand in his own and squeezing it. "I missed you too. I'm glad you're back." Even so, he wanted to hear what she'd done. Visiting another continent was definitely something to talk about and Brandon was insanely curious. rose harriet granger-weasley

Brandon teased her about wanting to write a book about her experience in America and she laughed, but then she began to think about it. She hadn’t really thought about writing about it seriously. She kept her journal of course, from when they were over there. She wrote just about everyday, all she’d have to do was add a little bit of explanation here and there and it would already be done. She had thought about writing books before, but she wanted to write muggle fiction books about her world, she never thought about writing something non-fiction. “Nah, a book would be a silly idea, right?” she asked, expecting him to agree with her, thought a part of her wanted him to say it wasn’t actually silly.
Hectic in a good way made Rosie cock her head to the side. “Uh, well I mean, we didn’t die so…” she gave a giggle. “We didn’t plan anything at all and got lost so much and I had to drive, but I still don’t know how to drive really.” she told him. “We saw everything, well most things. We went to Washington DC and New York and oooh, Disneyland, the pacific ocean.” she listed. It was nice to think back on the trip, but thinking about how anxious she had been during parts of it made her happy it was in the past. “Me too.” she admitted sweetly when he said he was glad she was back. “So how much further is the place?”

Brandon shrugged when Rosie asked if a book was a silly idea. He could tell she was thinking about it a little, which made him think that maybe it wasn't. "I don't think it's silly. It depends on what you want. If you wanted to make a book out of it that could be really cool, but if you don't want to there's no pressure." Brandon wasn't exactly quite sure how to express him opinion. He just wanted Rosie to do what would make her happy. If that was making a book out of her trip, awesome! If not ... well she had other things she could do with her life. She giggled when she said they didn't die and Brandon gave her a faux annoyed glare. He knew she was kidding, but he would have been very upset if she died ... or even if she got hurt. Even though he thought she left him he would have been angry about it. He stared at her. "You don't know how to drive, but you did? How does that work?" He listened patiently as she started to explain the things they'd seen, nodding as she mentioned things he'd heard of before. When Rosie asked how far away it was, Brandon looked around himself and smirked. They were right next to the Park, and the restaurant was right across the street from it. "Here we are," he told her, leading her to the front door. They walked in and the host didn't looked surprised to see Brandon at all. He shouldn't be. Brandon came here often. "You want your usual seat?" the man asked and Brandon nodded, chuckling at how that must sound. The host led them through the restaurant to a veranda with a great view of the park on the other side. Brandon held the chair out for Rosie. "So, what do you think?" he asked as he seated himself. rose harriet granger-weasley
