A book still seemed very intimidating and she wasn’t even sure that anyone would want to read a book that she wrote about her travels. She was sure that no one would care, but she had really loved writing it all down and documenting it. She had heard about muggle travel bloggers, but she wasn’t sure that was for her either, she wasn’t good with muggle technology, and, she didn’t think she really wanted to travel any more. At least not regularly, and not like they had done. A holiday every now and then seemed fine, but she liked being home. She liked the regularity. She liked the routine.
“Magic, mostly.” she answered when he asked how she was able to drive. “People over there don’t really like the enchantment of muggle items, especially cars, but we were so far away from anyone most of the time that it didn’t seem to matter.” she admitted. She knew that wizards in America were very wary of No-Maji and didn’t want to do anything to draw any attention to themselves, however, no one would suspect two girls driving a truck of magic so she hadn’t been worried about it.
They walked into the place and were sat quickly, the host recognized Brandon and gave him his normal seat. Rosie was impressed. She hadn’t realized how often her boyfriend came here. “It’s wonderful,” Rosie admitted with a smile. She was quite enchanted by the view and the service. “How often do you come here?” she asked, not judgmental, just curiously.

Brandon listened with interest as Rosie started to explain what she did in America, enchanting cars and stuff. He grinned, "Sounds adventurous, doing what you're not supposed to," he teased easily, winking at her to make sure she knew he wasn't entirely serious. Still, he was impressed she did something she wasn't supposed to. It was so ... not like her! He liked it. "Did you almost get caught ever?" he asked after a moment, wondering if maybe he could drag a little more out of her. He wasn't exactly sure why Rosie didn't seem to want to talk about this, but he'd see if he could convince her to talk about it a little more. If he couldn't, then he'd let it go. He didn't want to upset Rosie by any means. "I'm glad you think so," Brandon answered, actually feeling more pleased than he originally thought he would. He liked being able to impress her. At her question he shrugged, "Once or twice a week ... mostly when I want to get out of the place. I think I need to get a job somewhere or something, to occupy my time so I don't have so much of it, you know?" He watched Rosie's expression carefully, wondering what she would think of his idea. It wasn't like he didn't already have a job. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie was absolutely never the person who would ever do something she wasn’t supposed to do, but the summer had changed her. Now, however, she was far enough removed from her adventures to see the downsides of what she had done. She didn’t really feel bad about it, but she wouldn’t do it again, she was pretty sure. “Not really, we didn’t run into many police officers. And we were careful not to do magic in front of muggles. They’re really strict over there.” she said.
Brandon added that he had been here a bit and then suggested that he needed a job to occupy his time when he wasn’t working on his own music career. “I think that would be a great idea and a great way to fill your time. What sort of job did you have in mind?” she asked.

Brandon nodded as Rosie explained a bit more about her travels, saying she didn't really run into any of the officers. That was probably a good thing. He smiled as an image of his girlfriend frantically talking to a police officer crossed his mind unbidden. She probably wouldn't have known what to do, but he was sure she could have talked herself out of any real trouble, maybe even without meaning to. Rosie was just so sweet that he honestly couldn't see anyone getting mad at her when she was sincerely apologizing. He hadn't been able to, even after so many years of friendship with her before they started dating. "Well I'm proud of you for not getting into trouble," he teased lightly, ready to let the topic drop if she wanted it to. Honestly, Brandon was a little worried about what Rosie would think about him looking for a job. Technically he already had one, but he didn't have a lot to do with it yet and he was getting antsy. Not that she probably knew that, but still it was there. He smiled when she agreed to the idea and then shrugged a little. "I don't know. I've been applying basically anywhere they're asking for musicians. I applied at Club Indigo the other day." He had a performance audition tomorrow and he was a bit nervous about it, but that was neither here nor there. What would happen would happen, he was simply going to do his best. "How's your job going?" he asked after a moment, not wanting the conversation to be entirely focused on himself. rose harriet granger-weasley

The idea of Brandon as a club musician was interesting to her, but she supported him no matter what he wanted to do. If this was what he wanted to get more experience and make some money in between gigs, she was behind him all of the way, and she wanted to make sure he knew that. There was nothing he could do that she wouldn’t support, well, within reason of course. “That sounds really great. I can’t say I’ve ever been to Club Indigo.” Rosie knew it was a wizarding club and a popular spot for those who liked to party, but Rosie had never been that type of person and didn’t much care for loud noises and crowds. “Do you think you’d like working there?” she asked, curiously, not trying to sway him in either way. He asked how her job was and she shrugged. “I feel very behind everyone else.” she admitted. She had literally just started as an intern and everyone she graduated with was already being moved up to a full employee as their training periods were ending. “I almost regret not starting right away.” she admitted.

Brandon felt relieved and excited that Rosie seemed to approve of his new idea. He wasn't entirely sure if he was going to get the job yet and he was sure that working in a club would be different, but wasn't that kind of the point? "Me neither," he answered with a chuckle, "I think I went there once before ... but I don't normally spend a lot of time in clubs. So it'll be interesting if I do et the job." He was excited at the prospect of it, but also trying to not get his hopes up too high. He shrugged at her next question. "I don't know. I like playing my music, so probably? Unless they boo me ... then I doubt I'd like it much at all, but if I can play what I want and just enjoy it I don't see why I wouldn't like it." He hoped that made as much sense out loud as it did in his head, but even if it didn't, this was Rosie. She knew him. "Behind them?" he asked, not sure what she was talking about until Rosie mentioned wishing she'd started right away. Brandon shook his head, reaching across the table. "Naaaw. If you would have started right away you wouldn't have been able to go on your trip this summer," he reminded her. "Don't worry about being a little behind. I'm sure you'll catch up quickly and before you know it, you'll hopefully be writing articles of your own." Brandon hoped she'd take his words as encouragement and not him pushing her to work hard. He just wanted Rosie to be happy and he knew writing meant a lot to her. He just wanted to help in any way he could, like she was helping him. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie nodded when he explained that he didn’t often spend a lot of time in clubs, of course she knew that, she didn’t either, and it wasn’t really her scene, so she wasn’t sure what she would do if she had a boyfriend who liked to go out and party and such. She was sure she’d feel weird about it. “I can’t imagine anyone would boo you.” Rosie promised and reached her hand across the table to hold his. “If you get the job I’ll come see you play.” she decided, even if she was a little uncomfortable in that type of place, she’d be comfortable with him there.
But if she had started right away and hadn’t gone on her trip over the summer, she would have been able to stay with him and wouldn’t have left him while he was healing to kiss Adonia and cause this huge fight between them that they were finally getting past. A lot of times she thought that life would have been so much easier if she hadn’t made this big, impulsive decision. But, she couldn’t imagine what kind of person she’d be now if she hadn’t ran off. “Maybe.” Rosie shrugged, but also nodded. She knew that eventually she would make it to a full writer, and possibly even into an editor position one day. “I just don’t want to spend too long in copy editing.” she sighed. It was so boring and tedious and she wanted to be doing something more fulfilling with her time.

Rosie assured him that no one would boo him, even reaching to hold his hand reassuringly. Brandon couldn't help but smile gratefully at her. "Thanks Rose," he told her, glad to have her support. He smiled, "I think I'd like it. I'd feel more comfortable knowing you were there watching me," Brandon admitted. Honestly, he normally felt pretty confident and comfortable playing music no matter where and no matter who was listening, but this felt different and he wasn't entirely sure why. Brandon nodded when she mentioned that she didn't want to stay in copy editing for too long. "Don't worry. I'm sure you'll be out of there in no time and really writing," he reassured her, hoping that he could help her as much as she helped him. He smiled as a waiter approached them, asking what they wanted. Before long, the food was in front of them and he and Rosie just enjoyed the rest of their afternoon together. It felt so light and easygoing and he was so excited to truly be able to enjoy it. At the end of their meal, they walked around the park until he apparated her home. --- the end --- rose harriet granger-weasley
