Lily groaned before banging her forehead against the table with a angry huff. Books were stacked randomly around her looking like they might tilt and fall at any moment possibly burring her alive and frankly it'd be a mercy at this point. Her red hair was pulled into a very sloppy ponytail with strands falling loose and framing her face lazily all the while giving her a crazed and frazzled look. She was exhausted and looked it every bit and her paper was barely written on yet she had been here for hours! The desk was riddled with sugar quills and crumpled papers while the main paper near her was covered in scratches with whole blocks of text crossed out.
"I hate this paper so much, She mumbled as she massaged her temples before slamming the closest book to her shut with a satisfying thud. It was temporary relief and she knew this but it still felt so nice to be able to take her frustrations out on something even if that thing wasn't exactly the cause of her pain. Sighing the frazzled fifth year dragged herself to her feet using the desk to push herself into moving to continue her search for material for her paper. She all but dragged her feet, shoulders slumped, and hair a mess as she began scanning the shelves for another book to help with thus far nonexistent paper that was due sometime tomorrow. The subject had to be the most boring thing ever written since the beginning of time -- why anyone would need a seven inch paper on some goblin revolt and what was happening in the background was so beyond her.
The endless maze of bookshelves that made the school library loomed before her making her prospects even more bleak the longer she stared at them. The only thing the library had going for it was the fact it was warm but even that was weak compared to the roaring fires up in the common room. She'd give just about anything to get out of here and say screw the paper if her mother sending a howler wasn't a real threat especially since she was having such a hard time in History of Magic. Frowning she realized a book that might hold exactly what she needed was two shelves out of her reach and her wand was tucked away in her bag back at the table she was currently inhabiting.
"Smart Lily, lets walk around with dangerous killers on the loose without your wand. Surely nothing could happen! Dad would be so livid with you..." She mumbled under her breath as she stretched on her tip toes trying to reach the stupid book that was still just a couple inches from her reach. Great so now she either had to find one of those elusive stepping stools that were rumored to be in here somewhere or she'd have to go back for her wand with no guarantee she'd be able to find this book again, in all honesty she wasn't exactly sure how she found it in the first place.
"Come on, come on...."

Harry had been very busy as of late, for example dealing with things of the Order, and putting up with the stupid Minister of Magic and his retarted antics, especially not acknowledging the fact that dark times were upon them and that people were being murdered. These were the thoughts that were running through Harry’s mind as he walked out of the Ministry. He had something to do and it was spend time with his kids. Harry looked around as he ducked into an alley way and apparated directly to Hogsmeade. He appeared silently in front of the Three Broomsticks, and he took out a coin that he had not used in a while, his DA coin, and he sent a short message to Neville telling him that he would be entering the Castle through the One-eyed Witch passage way that connected the castle and Honeydukes. After getting into the school without the wards going off since they recognized him, Harry looked around and decided to make his way to the library since he had heard mention from someone that he passed that Lily was in there all stressed out about some essay.
He entered the library and as he walked he noticed that there were not many students in here, which did not really bother him all too much since he never liked the place anyways. Most times he had only come in here on Hermione’s insistence. "I hate this paper so much” He heard the voice of his daughter, and he had to repress a laugh, but that didn’t stop him from smirking. Harry found Lily just as she went in search of more material for her paper.
Harry stopped at the table that Lily had just left and saw that she was writing a paper on some goblin revolt. He remembered back to when he had class with Professor Binns, and all that the ghost would talk about would be goblin wars and revolts. "Smart Lily, lets walk around with dangerous killers on the loose without your wand. Surely nothing could happen! Dad would be so livid with you... Come on, come on...." Well his daughter was right about one thing he would be livid if he was not standing right there and also the state that his daughter was currently in was completely understandable since she was just a fifteen year old, but she should always have her wand at all times.
He summoned the wand from his daughter’s bag as he made his way over to were she was at. Harry leaned up against the bookshelf as he watched Lily try to grab the book that she was looking for but she was to short, and using her wand Harry went ahead and summoned the book. “Looking for this Lily?” He said holding his daughter’s wand and twirling it around as he waited for his daughter to realize that he was there, which wouldn’t take long since he had just summoned the book that she was looking for.

Lily frowned as she stretched before suddenly the book she was reaching for (in vain) whizzed off the shelf and right past her. Before she could even turn around a voice broke the silence causing her to stifle a shriek while her hand flew to her pocket where her wand should have been only to hit nothing. That was right she left her wand at the table oh if she wasn't in Hogwarts she'd be in so much trouble right now maybe all those stories weren't for nothing after all. It finally clicked maybe two seconds before she realized who she was looking at who was actually there.
"D-dad?"
Her face went from pale and panicked to overly joyed in all of three seconds as she caught her breath before launching herself at her father for a hug. She missed him while at school, especially with everything that had been happening so far this year and how messy everything had suddenly gotten. She continued to think about how the adults whispered 'this is how it started last time' when they thought no one was listening but she was and so were so many students. It was nice to hug her dad even for just a small moment because it made her feel safe. Pulling back from the hug she gave a sheepish embarrassed smile as she glance toward her wand.
"Oh that old twig? I mean it's kind of you know not that um important.... Okay I'm sorry! I forgot it back at the table and well you already know that obviously..." She continued to give a little guilty smile as she tried her best not to blush, she was actually pretty embarrassed by her father finding her wandless.
"So um what are you doing here? Surely you don't remember this old place -- Aunt Hermione said you were hardly ever in here so it can't be for nostalgia." She loved bantering with her dad, especially if the boys weren't around because it meant that even for a brief moment he was 100% focused on her.
"How's mum? And Grandmum and Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron? Any news of what's going on out there? Is Mum okay? What about the family?" She was desperate for more news, it seemed she was being sheltered and no one was even intentionally doing it! It was just a lack of information being shared freely leaving her floundering in the dark speculating what all could be happening in the 'real' world.
"Do you want to sit? How long are you staying?"

"D-dad?" The look on Lily’s face was priceless and it made this trip worth it. He was soon engulfed in a hug by his daughter, which he returned with all of his love. Lily was his little girl and he would always be there for her whenever she needed him to be. He lived for moments like these with his family. He could tell that Lily was embarrassed by not having her wand, and to be honest she was lucky it was him that had noticed that she did not have her wand. "Oh that old twig? I mean it's kind of you know not that um important.... Okay I'm sorry! I forgot it back at the table and well you already know that obviously..." Harry raised an eyebrow at this apology. “This old twig, which is still rather a new wand, since it was specifically made for you, on that same day when you went to get it. Will save your life, and now I want you to promise me that you will not go anywhere without it.” Harry said in a voice that reprimanded his daughter but was filled with love.
"So um what are you doing here? Surely you don't remember this old place -- Aunt Hermione said you were hardly ever in here so it can't be for nostalgia." This brought a smile to his lips as he glanced around quickly at the library. “Your right I only remember being here for a short period of time, like in my first year when I broke into the restricted section, and there were other times, and believe me that those times were not by choice, your aunt practically forced your uncle and I in here to study, especially during the weeks leading up to exams. Every time that I stepped foot in here I thought my head was going to explode. But no I am not in here for the purpose of nostalgia.” Harry said in answer to his daughter’s question.
“Lily I am here to spend some time with you, I have taken time out of my very busy schedule to come and be with you.” He continued his answer as he smiled at Lily. “Come, let us have a seat, as you suggested and then I promise to answer all of your questions.” With his arm around Lily’s shoulders he led her back to her table. “Have a seat I just need to do something really quick, because technically I am not supposed to be here without informing Burt, sorry I mean the Headmaster. He and I have issues.” Harry informed his daughter and then he turned in a circle and as he did so he had whipped out his wand and cast several detection spells and charms and then he cast the protection and privacy spells, so that only his kids and certain professors could see him and his daughter. “Now that I have taken care of that. Which the reason why I did those is really simple, Burt, I call him such because he is not worthy of being the headmaster of Hogwarts. And to answer your question as to how long I am going to be here, well I am here until you no longer need me to be today.” He paused and looked at his daughter.
“Your mum is doing great and so are your grandparents, Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione are doing as well as can be expected and are very busy as well.” He paused once more as he thought about the question that his daughter asked him about what was going on in the real world. “First off your mum worries a lot about all of us, but she is doing well and she misses you, your brothers are well your brothers, you know how they are. And now for the real question, things are not good out there. Since the death of Kingsley there have been many more murders, and as you already know, as I am sure you have heard us talking about it, this is how it all started before.” Harry answered in a low and serious tone. “Lily, your mother wanted me to wait to tell you and your brothers until Christmas which we will be spending at Longbottom Hill. Also do you remember us telling you stories about the Order of the Phoenix, well it has been started up once more, and I am in charge of it. You will learn more about it over the holidays.” There were many things that his children and their friends would soon be learning and it was the time to do so. “I have also taken the liberty of talking to Professor Grey about this and he has agreed to teach you advanced types and forms of magic. That is if you want to do so?” Harry informed and asked his wonderful daughter. “I also have something for you, I made it just for you and I have the other one that goes to it. All you have to do is say my name and I will answer and if I do not leave a message for me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I find it easier to use than owls.” Harry said as he pulled out a small mirror and gave it to Lily.
“Now fell free to ask any questions or we can talk about whatever you want to. For my time today is all for you Lily.” He said to his daughter as he watched her.

Lily gave her father a sheepish look and nodded, yep he wasn't very pleased with her. At least he wasn't livid with her he was just worried, this was his 'you are going to be in so much trouble if you do it again voice'.
"Okay I promise dad, I wont go anywhere without it anymore. I usually have it on me it's just I thought the library was a safe place... I'm sorry I promise. I really do love my wand by the way."
She smiled as her dad mentioned his first year, it was really hard to imagine him as a scrawny little kid with glasses running around doing things against the rules. She loved hearing stories of his adventures but from him not some silly reporter who would change everything about him for a better story.
"Yeah well I hate it too, I'm only in here to finish this paper I actually needed that book to try and get a little bit more information for the class. I'm sooo tired of Goblin Revolts. I know one thing I am so not going to be a Historian later in life." She was all smiles as he told her he was just there to see her -- just her for once! Brothers were great but they always seemed to be around her dad during the holidays and breaks and quality time alone was hard to get by. She followed her dads lead and ended up back at the table where she shoved everything to the side a bit more before taking a seat and watching her dad fascinated. He did a bunch of complex movements and spells as he informed the Headmaster of his presence on the grounds.
"So trouble with the Headmaster? Is he going to come down and yell at you for being here?" She knew her father and the Headmaster didn't get along but she was curious how deep that hatred went right now. "As long as it wont cause you any trouble I love spending time with you and everything has just gotten so crazy. It would get crazy on my exam year huh."
The talk turned serious and Lily suddenly felt like she was five again curled up on her dads lap listening to her father tell about his youth to the boys with all the stories full of adventure and excitement and their brilliant escapes. But it was all real again, they were no longer the fanciful tales of her parents youth, it was happening again and she had to fight the urge to curl up in an over sized chair with her dad all over again. She listened intently to as her father filled her in on their Christmas plans and how everything was going outside of the protective walls of Hogwarts as well as the offer of extra classes. She numbly accepted the mirror clutching it like a toddler clutches their teddy bear, as if the mirror would keep the truth away for as long as possible. The truth was scary and daunting and she felt like an idiot for feeling so small in all of this especially when her mother and father were so brave at her age.
"I'm scared...." She barely whispered that staring at the mirror, it was hard to admit to anyone but if there ever was someone who would understand it would be her dad. He had always been there to protect her along with her brothers that she had it easy up to this point and yet everything was becoming so real. Taking a deep breath she steadied herself, "I'm scared but I want to learn. I don't want to be ignorant and sheltered because what happens if I'm alone and something happens? I want the extra magic lessons, I want to feel like I'm doing something and not just trying to stay afloat or ignore what's happening... Will Albus and James be having extra lessons too? Or just me? Mum knows about the lessons right?" Lily suddenly felt the strong urge to be with her mother or at least owl her. "I need to send her an owl, we haven't really talked since I came back to school... So um the uh Order will there be an age limit? James will probably jump at the chance to join... Bet that will make Granmum mental all over again. She always says the Order was no place for a bunch of kids," Lily couldn't help but smile when she thought of her Grandmother butting into one of Uncle George's stories saying how foolish it was for a bunch of kids to risk their lives like that especially so young. Usually the bit would end in her saying something along the lines of 'at least my grandkids are safe and sound'.
"This is all so weird I can't believe it's all happening again..." Frowning she shook her head and sighed, "Okay enough serious I wanted to talk to you about maybe trying out for Quidditch next year! I was going to talk to you about it during the holidays but you know you're here now. I was thinking once I pass my O.W.Ls I'll have a little bit more free time and well Quidditch seems like a good way to spend it. I was thinking of maybe going for a Beater position -- what do you think?" She was doing her best to lighten the mood a bit because it had suddenly gotten very serious in the Library and she wanted to enjoy these precious moments with her dad. Besides their family, or well most of them, loved Quidditch and it was always a good topic.

"Okay I promise dad, I wont go anywhere without it anymore. I usually have it on me it's just I thought the library was a safe place... I'm sorry I promise. I really do love my wand by the way." Harry could tell that Lily was sorry for leaving her wand and he was glad to hear her promise him that she would not go anywhere without it. “I know you love your wand, just make sure to have it with you at all times.” Harry said. He was not at all mad, he was just concerned for Lily’s safety that was all. “Goblin revolts? You think that with Binns gone you would be safe from having to learn about how boring the goblin revolts are. They always put you uncle and I to sleep, no matter how hard we tried to stay awake. Okay I tried to stay awake and your uncle brought a pillow.” Harry commented as he remembered the time that he had wasted in Binns’ class, because all that ghost did was talk about goblin revolts in a flat monotone voice that was quite annoying, and that would put anyone to sleep.
"So trouble with the Headmaster? Is he going to come down and yell at you for being here? As long as it wont cause you any trouble I love spending time with you and everything has just gotten so crazy. It would get crazy on my exam year huh." Harry smiled at his daughter, she was too smart for her own good sometimes. But this time she was right to be curious. “I am sure that if he knew that I was hear he would have stopped me from even entering the school. But then yet again he doesn’t know all of the secret passageways that the school holds. Burt doesn’t want me here just for the simple fact that in a way he has taken an interest in James since he found the body of that first year on the train. And yes that is usually how it works, all hell breaks loose during your OWLs year. Granted for me it was every single year that was crazy. But then yet again trouble seems to find me now doesn’t it?” He told his daughter all of this in a serious tone except for the last part when he asked a rethorical question. Of course danger followed him, it always seemed to find him and include him somehow and he would have to save the day. Granted he never did it on his own, for he always had his friends to help him out at all times.
“Being scared is normal.” Harry said as he got up and moved to sit next to his daughter and he pulled her close to him with one arm and held her as he continued talking “I was always scared but I went ahead did what needed to be done. You will too when the time comes. I am glad that you want to learn more. I will inform Professor Grey before I leave tonight, and yes your brothers will be required to attend as well. I may even stop in from time to time and help teach you all. Yes your mother knows about it, and as far as the age limit goes for the Order, that is another matter entirely. Your grandma will most likely have a fit that I am letting you join but you can. I just have to talk to your mother about it, but I am sure that she will agree to let you join it.” Harry had already talked to Ginny about the kids joining the Order, and she was fine with it as well, but he had to let her know if they asked about it, just so that she knew what was going on. “And yes you might want to owl your mother, I think that she would enjoy that a lot. Also I think that she might come and see you at some point as well.”
"Okay enough serious I wanted to talk to you about maybe trying out for Quidditch next year! I was going to talk to you about it during the holidays but you know you're here now. I was thinking once I pass my O.W.Ls I'll have a little bit more free time and well Quidditch seems like a good way to spend it. I was thinking of maybe going for a Beater position -- what do you think?" Harry could tell that Lily wanted to stop being all serious and enjoy the time that they had together. “Is that even a question, of course that would be wonderful if you joined the quidditch team and as a beater, your uncle George will be so happy that you want to be a beater. I am sure that he would be more than happy to give you pointers on how to be the best beater out there. You should also tell your mum about it as well. Or if you want I can always tell her, and that would give her even more reason to come and see you.” He was excited and happy that his little girl wanted to play quidditch. It was a great sport and almost everyone in the family enjoyed it.
