Quidditch and Witch Weekly Announcement

Quiditch lovers far and wide, it’s that time again! Hogwart’s Quidditch season is starting up, and the first match takes place November 15th (OOC - September 1st). So why mention this? Because we finally have our winning Quidditch system! With an overwhelming victory in the poll, our official Hogwarts Quidditch system will be: BATTLESHIP!

Just a quick reminder. The Battleship system is a two phase system. The first phase runs almost exactly like a normal game of battleship with each team taking turns trying to sink each other’s ‘ships’. These ships dictate events in game (scores, fouls, saves, etc.). The second phase is the roleplay phase where people will post the outcomes of the battleship game in character.

As is, we unfortunately don’t have enough Quidditch players for 3 of our 4 Quidditch teams (To run effectively, it’d be ideal to have a minimum of 4 members per team. Only Gryffindor has enough currently.). So I’ve pushed back the start of the first match to begin September 1st OOC. That way people have plenty of time to sign up for teams that would like to participate. If we don’t get enough players by that date, the match’s outcome/actions will be randomly generated and the staff will make an overview post to count for the match, and all other matches will be done similarly until we get to a match where both teams have enough players. Please note, Illvermorny transfer CAN join the Quidditch teams! So sign up if you want to play! Also note, you CAN have players on multiple teams if desired! You will only participate in one team’s phase 1 (whichever team has the least members), and will participate on both teams for phase 2.

The first Hogwarts Quidditch Match will be: Gryffindor VS Hufflepuff!


In other news, we will also be working on posting and running the Wizarding Magazine ‘Witch Weekly’! This will be your bi-monthly (or monthly if there is enough interest) news for Professional Quidditch updates, gossip, latest fashion and trends, and more! We want to give you guys material to use in your IC threads to enhance your roleplay experience and enrich your immersion by giving you information that your characters can discuss, read, debate, etc. If you ever have an idea for an article, feel free to PM Admin Sora , or if you’d like to write an article yourself, send it to us! Any articles you submit will earn you 50 galleons regardless of when we post it as long as it meets the following criteria: It cannot be a subject related to one of our issue topics. It is at least 500+ words long.
