-beginning of summer 2024-All personality had been stripped from the room. The walls, painted white were bare. The bed was neatly made in matching white sheets. The wooden dresser drawers lay empty.
”Oh, I wouldn’t worry, it’s Diana. She’s always been a free spirit,” said the woman, older in age with a bathrobe overtop a blue night gown.
”Free spirit? The room is empty, Raisa. Empty,” said the man, also in nightwear. ”Everything is gone.” He shook his head and turned towards the door. ”If you intend to come back, you don’t take everything with you.”
Raisa took out her wand from her robe pocket. The non verbal spell showered the room in sparkling light, before disappearing. No change to the room.
”Not even a trace that she was ever here...”- - -
Diana Bainbridge opened her eyes, breaking the scrying spell. A dufflebag, dark in color just like her clothes lay at her feet as she stood from her crouch. It was night, though the bright lights of London lit the world like day. High up on top of one of the many office buildings, her gaze dropped down to the street far below. Specks of people bustled down the street, toy sized cars honked their horns as they played red light green light.
The young woman turned from the street and to the other figure on the rooftop. Another young woman with hair as dark as the night itself. But this wasn’t just any individual. Elaine Dupree, leader of the Purifiers.
”The spell worked,” Diana said, her hair blowing into her face as the wind picked up. ”No one will be able to follow me, or know where I’ve gone.”
Elaine didn’t answer. Diana reached down and picked up the duffle bag, slinging it over her shoulder. ”I’ll return when it’s done.”
With a twist she disappeared. From London. From England. From her family. From her friends.
Gone, as if she’d never even existed.
