Green eyes lit up from sheer excitement and curiosity. From what Zenevieva had heard from her aunt, it was difficult to get hands on a copy of the classic novel as most students or even professors had it in their possession. So when Kinsey offered to share her own copy with the Novell, she found herself nodding vigorously, filled with sudden energy. ”O-Only if that’s okay.” Reading was Zen’s passion and even if she knew a few pages or so from the novel, what harm would it bring to skip those sections?
When Kinsey mentioned how things depend on the types of classes the Novell did as well as her strengths, the brunette nodded, a hand resting on her chin as she thought to herself. ”I know the core’s minimum was four and the electives were two…So I decided to do six core classes and three electives…” For some, the stress to do more than the minimum required was too much, but Zen enjoyed the thrill that education brought for her and soon she listed out the classes she attended daily and weekly for the elder Ravenclaw. ”Charms – of course – Defence against the Dark Arts…Potions, History of Magic…” She trailed off, trying to remember the names of the last two core classes ”Oh, astronomy and transfiguration!” Although, Zen knew that she enjoyed the first four more than the last two regardless.
”Though, I agree with you on Arithmancy.” Zen murmured, the thought of the subject reminding her that it was one of the most difficult classes she had. ”Muggle studies proves to be an easy subject for me…With Ms Fawley as the teacher after all.” But the Novell smiled as she mentioned that professors tended to be supportive, which was also true in Zen’s aspect, as most provided support for the half-vampire. Especially Ms Choi and Sari Fawley’s elder sister. Laurel Fawley.

Kinsey smiled. She could sense Zen's enthusiasm and see the obvious excitement in the girl's eyes. "Of course. I wouldn't have offered if it wasn't okay," Kinsey answered easily. "I have a few other books about the school too that you could borrow if you want. I can show you them sometime." Yes, Kinsey owned a lot of books. She kind of collected them, since she loved to read and loved learning about things that interested her. Hogwarts was definitely one of those things. She loved the place and she knew it pretty well, enough to sometimes be able to avoid Dom if she was being smart. Zen started listing off her classes and Kinsey nodded as she did. "I like those classes. Charms and Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts are some of my favorites," she answered, figuring that since Zen was taking those classes she also liked them a lot. Mostly, Kinsey liked the challenging aspects in those classes. The hardest one was probably Transfiguration, but there were charms and other spells that could be difficult. She liked trying them, going ahead in the study books and seeing if she could do more complicated forms of magic. She grinned, nodding when Zen said she liked Arithmancy. "Isn't it great?!" Kinsey gushed. It wasn't often that she found someone who liked it as much as she did. "Oh, I didn't take Muggle studies. What kinds of things do you study in there?" Kinsey asked curiously. She'd considered it, but since her dad was a muggle she already knew a lot about them. She figured she didn't need to actually study it. zenevieva mira novell

Nodding at the speed of ten-to-a-dozen, Zenevieva’s hands clasped together in excitement. At first she was tempted to take the elder Ravenclaw’s hands into her own, but feared the reaction from touching her. Risks were always one thing the Novell avoided and hated to find herself choosing from the option of the safe route or a risky one. She always stuck to what she knew. ”I’d like that!” She responded, rather cheerfully as she looked at Kinsey with an excited gaze. ”Any book…Is fine. One, two, all…I’ll read them all.” And boy was she sure of it. Books were the one thing Zen could never say no to. Whether or not they were for a class or not, it was rare anyone would find the half-vampire without at least one small type of novel in her grasp.
”Mine too.” She beamed. Defence against the Dark Arts was a particular interesting subject, considering she learned ways to stay protected against people like…Herself. Considering she was a half of a Dark Creature. ”It’s one of the bests!” She responded, in relation to the joyfulness the two found during Arithmancy. The challenges the class and even out of class assignments brought allowed Zen to have a quiet but whirl of a time with the subject itself. ”Just what the name implies.” The Novell shrugged. ”How Muggles live. Our differences in comparison to their’s.”

Zen's excitement was clearly obvious to Kinsey and she grinned right back at the younger girl. Offering her books definitely was the right move to make. She laughed, "Perfect! Well, I'll make sure you get the chance to read all of them during the year. You want to start with one or two maybe?" She didn't want to overwhelm Zen, but she also didn't want the younger girl to think that she didn't want her to use the books. Zen loved sharing the things she had with people who would really appreciate them. Kinsey was a little surprised that she had so much in common with Zen, but that definitely wasn't a bad thing. As a general rule, when it came to making friends Kinsey normally proceeded with caution, wanting to make sure that her friends were the kinds of people who wouldn't stress her out with their intentions. One of her exceptions to that rule was Riley. After her short interaction with Zen this morning, she was sure the younger girl would be another one of those people. She nodded as the girl explained more about muggle studies. "Yeah, that's what I thought, which is why I didn't take the course. My dad's a muggle so I already know plenty about them," she explained with a casual shrug. It was pretty well known that she and all her family her half bloods so it wasn't like that was a secret or anything. "It's cool that we like the same classes," Kinsey commented. "If you ever need help with any of them or want someone to practice with, I'm always willing," she added. She'd like the opportunity to see Zen more often, even though it was clear that Zen wasn't struggling with any of her classes. "Or we can do something when you're not studying if you want." Wow. Zen wouldn't know how big of a step this was for Kinsey, but she rarely offered things like this. It went to show how comfortable she already felt with the younger girl. zenevieva mira novell

Books were a topic that peaked at Zen's interest and usually if they kept her interest, she could finish one in the same night. Being half of a dark creature meant she usually thrived in the night, considering there wasn't too many bright lights around. "Two would be fine, three, better...Honestly I don't mind." She responded, the smile on her lips having no reason to leave. "I read pretty fast...Especially when I don't sleep or have breaks in between classes." Which was true. Zen was either found in the courtyard reading books or even the Ravenclaw common room itself. Books were the reason Zen had some kind of intelligence as well as the reason she continued to live through Bianca's torments. Well. That and her friends.
"Ah really?" The brunette questioned. "I'm from a long line of half-bloods...So I know muggles are worked into my family's line somewhere." There were times in Zenevieva's life where she craved to live a Muggle's life even if it was just for a day. She wanted to know how she would be without magic, how she would struggle. And in other means how she would be without relying on Magic all the time. Not that she always did anyway. From the conversation she was having with Kinsey it felt nice to actually smile again. Bond with someone who had a tragic background like yourself. "Thanks." She smiled. "But now that you do mention it...I could use some help with Arithmancy. For assignments and all." She added, playing with her thumbs gently. "But I'd like that. Thanks Kinsey."
While the two had a year in their age and class difference, she still hoped they could have a good friendship. Especially considering they shared a House together and even enjoyed the same classes. Zen knew she still had a few answers for the elder Ravenclaw but had no basis to start from.
@kinsey & could end it here on a good note? then develop their friendship as time goes on!

Kinsey grinned as the other girl said that she could borrow two or three and then nodded. "I'll show you my books and you can borrow however many you want," she offered. It was obvious that she and Zen had a connection here with their love of books and learning. She wanted to do anything she could that would make the other girl feel more comfortable, especially with her. Kinsey was starting to realize the importance of friendship in school. For example, her friendship with Toby was saving her in all the difficult things she was going through. She'd love to be there for Zen, if the other girl wanted her to be. Zen started to explain how she was in a long line of half-bloods and Kinsey nodded as she listened. "So you wanted to learn more about them," Kinsey assumed, making it sound more like a question than a comment. "That totally makes sense." She could understand the appeal to wizards that didn't know anything about muggles. Learning about them was kind of important, since once they left school they would likely have to associate with them at least every now and again. Zen mentioned that she could use some help with Arithmancy and Kinsey nodded enthusiastically, "I'd love to help you with Arithmancy!" She chuckled, "it also helps that you're a year younger, so you're learning the things I learned last year." That definitely made helping her a little easier. She shrugged when the girl thanked her, "No problem. I'm glad I can help," she answered easily. Throughout the rest of breakfast, the two had an easygoing conversation, and Kinsey was glad that she sat by someone she didn't know before. It was obvious to her that Zen needed more friends and Kinsey was more than happy to help out with that. By the time they left the room they'd already figured out a time when they could meet to talk about Arithmancy. Then they both headed to their own classes, Kinsey in a particularly good mood. --- the end --- zenevieva mira novell
