October 27th 2024 Lucy got off work around 11pm that night, she had been hired as a date for some high powered muggle business man to take to some fall work soiree. She stood on his arm all night, kind of annoyed at being around so many muggles, but, happy with the open bar and free, fancy food. She had changed back at the agency before she headed over to club indigo for the remainder of the evening. It was still early, ish. If she had been working her actual job, she wouldn’t have got off until around midnight or later, but she had tonight off.
The red head walked into the bar around midnight on that late October night and scanned the crowd for anyone she recognized. None of her usual friends were there, but, that didn’t mean she wouldn’t find someone interesting to chat up before she headed back to her apartment. Lucy walked over the bar, dressed in a black, knit crop top and black jeans, and ordered her usual drink, “Double shot of firewhisky on the rocks.” she told the bartender, a rather handsome man whom she recognized as working a lot of the late night shifts. Once she was given her drink, she turned around and scanned the crowd once more, her back leaning against the bar.

Vik loved Club Indigo. He wasn't particularly sure why, other than the fact that he knew there were plenty of witches and wizards that preferred the place. After going underground with the muggles for so long it was kind of nice to be around people like him. Definitely something he wouldn't mind getting used to.
This particular evening he wasn't in the mood for drinks, preferring to go on the floor and dance with random people. Quite a few of the ladies were already drunk, which made it fun to a point. Still, he found himself scanning the room as he danced with them, looking for something more interesting, or someone. It got boring when everyone was so willing to do anything.
After a while he made excuses and left the dance floor a bit, standing on the side of the room and really looking around. No, nothing here was intriguing him tonight. He was about to leave the establishment when he saw a red-haired beauty enter the place. He watched as she made her way to the bar, talking with the bartender a bit before looking around the room with a drink in hand.
Vik slowly sauntered toward her, going around the edges of the room rather than straight through the crowd. She was beautiful. He sat on the bar-stool next to hers before speaking, "I haven't seen you around here before." Sure, he'd start simple. He didn't know anything about the girl, after all. Didn't want to come on too strong.

Lucy wasn’t exactly surprised when the stranger approached her, it happened often, and maybe saying so came off a bit arrogant, but she didn’t care. It was the truth. Lucy was very confident in herself and her looks, she knew how to attract the type of attention that she wanted, the funny thing was, she was barely trying tonight. She wasn’t particularly dressed up, and she had just got off work, but, she still felt good, and she was sure people around her could feel her energy, and that was what drew them to her. He said he hadn’t seen her around here before and the redhead shrugged, “I’m not usually here this early in the night.” normally if she stopped by, she did so later in the night, or, earlier in the morning, depending on how you saw it. “Got off early and thought I’d see if anyone interesting was here… the verdict is still out.” she teased, turning to take a look at the man. He was cute at least. “And what about you? Do you walk up to every new face you see in the club? I can imagine it would keep you quite busy.” she smirked.

She hardly reacted to him approaching her, which made her a bit more intriguing to Vik, not that he wanted to really let her know that. He nodded when she said that she wasn't normally here this early and he found himself quirking his head to the side. She came here normally? How come he hadn't seen her before? Granted, he wasn't always the best at paying attention to those around, especially when he was already focused on someone else. Like that Sunny girl a while ago. "Oh, well I guess I'll have to see if I find someone to fix that for you," Vik teased, turning to face the room and looking over the crowd, teasing the girl in return. It was only a few moments later when he heard her asking him questions in return. He smirked, before schooling his expression and turning to face her. "No, I keep an eye out for the most interesting faces, especially with the people that come in alone," he answered. He could tell a lot just by looking at someone's face and this girl was interesting to him.

He suggested that he’d have to find someone to fix that for her and she rolled her eyes and sipped her drink. She loved the burn as it went down her throat. He explained that he also looked for interesting people and the redhead shrugged. “Well then I suppose we’re both at a loss, aren’t we?” two people, both searching for someone interesting, who happened to find each other in a bar. It was very cliche, but Lucy didn’t care so much, sometimes the cliche was more fun. It was lighter and easier to keep casual. “So, have you got a name?” she asked, turning to face him rather than looking over the room as she previously had been. She studied his face and his features, he was cute at least, that was always a good sign.

Vik laughed at the girl’s comment. She was being clever and somewhat coy, which he appreciated. It was always more fun to get to know those types of people than the ones who cosied up to you as soon as you approached them. He had a feeling that he would be having a bit of fun tonight. At least, he certainly hoped so. It kind of depended what the girl sitting next to him thought as well. “Yup, we might as well go home now,” he quipped back. He might as well, since he wasn’t sure if she’d be willing to keep the conversation going if he didn’t comment on that somehow. A touch of a smile crossed his face when she asked his name. She had to be a little bit interested to ask that, right? “I’m Vik,” he answered. “What about you?” He watched her carefully, silently admiring her confident attitude. She seemed to be lounging in the chair, just waiting for something to pique her interest. Hopefully he could help with that, at least a little bit.

He seemed to be in good spirits and happy to play along, which Lucy Weasley loved in a potential new ‘friend’. “That would be such a shame.” she said softly, batting her eyelashes a bit as she looked around not only at him, but at the rest of the club as well, which was alive with people dancing and music blasted. “What a waste of a lovely night.” she smirked and then let a giggle escape her red lips. He introduced himself as Vik. Lucy toyed with the idea of giving him a fake name. She figured that the odds that she would ever see him again were low and it likely wouldn’t matter in the long run. She could always just say her name was Anna and then she’d only be half wrong (and figured she could reasonably pass for Anna if she tried), and it wasn’t like Anna would ever find out, but Lucy thought too much of her sister to want to soil her name. “Lucy.” she cooed. “And what is it that you do, Vik?” she asked, playfully, biting at her lip as she waited for him to speak.

Vik smiled when she said that it would be a shame if he went home, adding that it would be a waste of the night. Good. At least he knew that she wasn’t trying to get rid of him now, which definitely would have been a disappointment. Vik had too much fun getting to know people to actually want to leave so soon after arriving. “Agreed,” he chuckled along with her. She answered that her name was Lucy and Vik nodded thoughtfully. It was a pretty name. A little more common, but that wasn’t a problem. After all, Vik was a somewhat common name. He shrugged at her question, glancing around the room as if he wasn’t entirely focused on the girl beside him, but turning to her as he answered. “I collect antiquities,” That was his favorite way to describe his job. Of course, he left out the fact that he stole them and then sold them off, that wasn’t something she really needed to know. “What about you?” he asked, lifting an eyebrow as he watched her. She’d said that she got off early, but didn’t describe anything else so now he found himself a bit curious. People’s jobs did say a lot about them, after all, once you got to their real job- which most people didn’t with Vik.

Lucy appreciated how light and easy their conversation was to have. No one was trying to court the other, which was nice, and she barely had to pretend, which was even better. On most of her dates, she had to pretend. In her life, around her sister or her family, she had to pretend. There was no reason to pretend about this man because he didn’t know her last name. He didn’t know who her family was or what they expected of her. Granted, he didn’t know she was a purifier either, but it was always better to have nothing expected of yourself than to have to hide aspects of your life. He explained that he collected antiquities and Lucy smirked, it sounded a little boring put the way that he had, but by the way he said it, she was sure that there was something more there that he hadn’t said. “I scare muggles.” she giggled, just as vaguely.

Okay, so this girl definitely caught his interest faster than he anticipated. She wasn’t the kind of girl who was easily turned by a handsome face or charming/flirtatious mannerisms, which made her infinitely more intriguing to him. Most girls were easy to get to want to spend time with him, but this one had a mind of her own. She didn’t take the bait and ask him more about what he did. Vik wondered if maybe she caught the hint when he answered her question, but the smirk on her face made him think that she had. She was just too stubborn -or plain not interested- to bother asking about it. Maybe she’d ask later, if he proved to be worth her attention. At her answer, Vik couldn’t help but laugh. “You scare muggles? Is that your entire job description,” he teased, hinting that he wanted to know more, but not asking quite yet. He was curious to see how much she’d give him without him coming outright and asking. He was a little surprised that this girl got his attention so quickly, but at the same time he wasn’t. She was beautiful and obviously smart. Vik was glad that he ran into her today.

“Basically.” Lucy nodded with a smirk. “I’m a scare actor.” he clarified. Of course, it was a seasonal job, but she honestly loved it, even if it meant that she had to work with muggles, the look on their faces when she terrified them was everything that she ever wanted in life. It was so satisfying. So far, she hadn’t seen anyone she knew to be magical come through her maze, but if they did, she’d have a few tricks up her sleeve to scare them too. “So I literally get paid to scare muggles.” she concluded. She didn’t have to go into how much she loved her job, she had no clue whether this guy liked muggles or not, but her job could be seen as innocent enough if they didn’t know who she was or what we life goals were. She was an actor, she did innocent acting projects too. She didn’t need to comment on her second job, the one that brought in most of her income. That was a secret for a reason. And because she was a good actor, not even her sister, who had lived with her for a time, knew about it. She then turned it back to him. “So how’s the antiquity market? Booming in London?” she asked, a thought flickering in her mind about what he could have meant. She was a purifier, after all, she had experience being around thieves, but she didn’t want to assume anything about anyone. It took a lot to be a thief. She didn’t want to give him more credit than he deserved prematurely.

She started to explain her job a little bit more, at his prompting and Vik found himself smirking. She scared muggles for her job? That sounded like fun for sure. "A scare actor? That actually sounds like a lot of fun," he commented, unable to help himself. He knew lots of muggles, he'd actually lived among them for quite a while after graduating. He was sure that someone like this girl could probably find a variety of ways to scare them. After all, muggles were just like wizards and witches in the fact that some of them were easy to scare while others were perhaps a little more difficult. "Is there a place where I can go to see this in action?" Vik asked, quirking his eyebrows at her in a teasing fashion. In all honesty, he wouldn't mind going and trying out a muggle haunted house or something. Could be fun, if the right kind of people were in charge of it.
Vik smirked, but nodded as she turned the questions around to him. "The antiquity market is always booming in London," he answered with an easy smile. The truth was, for some reason people generally felt the need to send valuable items to London instead of some other place. Vik didn't think that was a very smart idea, especially considering the fact that there were people like him who were talented at getting their fingers on these pieces, but no matter how many times he stole from the muggles, they always continued to send more, almost like an invitation. "It really just depends what kinds of antiquities you're looking for, but there are quite a few around," he informed her.

He showed interest in her line of work and Lucy couldn’t help herself from smirking as he said so. It was always interesting, telling people about her job. Most of them assumed that she just did it because she was an actor and it was Halloween season, however, Lucy got a sick joy out of scaring muggles, out of making them scream and cry. It was so satisfying. She was sad that this job would soon end. He asked if there was a place that he could see her in action and she thought for a moment, deciding whether or not to tell him. He was a stranger after all, and she wasn’t sure she wanted strangers involved in her muggle life, and then she realized if he really wanted to know, he could just look it up somewhere anyway. “There’s a horror house set up in Kensington.” she told him with a small nod of her head.
London was a city rich in culture. Of course there was lots of items of interest which would be valuable to collect within the city. Likely within any city, but London was known worldwide as a hub for the rich and successful. It was the city everyone idolized, besides Paris and maybe New York. She could imagine that his line of work proved very successful here. She made a mental note to ask Elaine if she knew this man the next time they spoke. If he was what Lucy thought he was, maybe he was among their ranks. She’d certainly take more of an interest in him if he was. “Do you have a most prized possession?” Lucy asked playfully, not really expecting a specific or honest answer, but just continuing the fun.

Lucy seemed to hesitate before being willing to tell him where she worked. It wasn't a particularly surprising thing, since the two of them really didn't know one another, but he was a little disappointed. Wasn't he making a better impression than this? Or maybe she was simply trying to have more fun by being difficult. He knew some people were like that and would really be surprised if she was one of them. "Maybe I'll come check it out," he commented off-hand. It shouldn't bother her, even if he did. There was no guarantee she'd be working when he came, or even that he would see her there if she was. The idea really intrigued him though.
She asked about a prized possession and Vik smirked. "Often, but they never stay long." He had favorite pieces every time he stole something, but he never kept them for himself. He shrugged, "I don't really like to keep knick-knacks, even if they are beautiful." Also, he loved the money he received from selling them. "Do you?" he turned the question back on her curiously. This was a very interesting conversation, to say the least.

“Maybe I’ll see you there, then. The question, I guess, will be whether you see me.” she said, biting her lip a little bit. That was part of the job, she had to wear all this heavy makeup and prosthetic pieces, she wasn’t supposed to look like her. Which was good, since she wanted to be able to do her side job without it interfering with her real job. How many men wanted their escorts to be an actress that people saw in various productions? That was almost too risky. If she ever got big into acting, her name would become attached to her face, and then she couldn’t pretend to be other people with fakes names for her job anymore. But she didn’t expect that to happen anytime soon.
He admitted that he didn’t keep things long, and she nodded, she understood that feeling, she was more than keen to just throw away everything she owned rather than try to keep things nice and tidy. “No, I’m not very material myself.” she agreed, taking another sip of her drink. “Things are just things. They don’t matter in the long run.” she shrugged.
