 DECEMBER 23RD 2024
Breaking up for the Winter break was one thing Bryelle was excited for. Winter and Christmas overall was a holiday the Goyle truly loved and treasured, but mainly only because of her brother’s presence. Her parents were jokes, somewhat a waste of space but their cooking made up for their lack of conversation. Before she left Hogwarts, Bryelle remembered making plans with her dormmate and cute friend – Isabel. Their plans were something spoken of briefly but was confirmed entirely through owls. Their plan for the days leading up to Christmas were built on relaxation, but one day before Christmas, the two would spend their time at the Hogsmeade Winter Festival. It went on every year, but each year seemed to get bigger and better, something Bryelle enjoyed seeing.
And so, stepping off at the train station, the Goyle wandered to the exit, a hum shy from leaving her lips as she bounced off the concrete. The brunette felt cuter during Christmas than most other days, hiding what she truly loved to be seen in with robes striped with the colour red. But during breaks and Hogsmeade weekends, Bryelle went all out. Cute dresses, cute skirts – jeans…The whole lot. But instead, she went rather casual. A sweater like dress, paired with black tights and boots seemed suitable. And a red scarf resting comfortably around her neck to match with festivities and the coldness the snow had brought.
Standing around for a moment or two, Bryelle held a little tighter on the sleeves of her dress/sweater. ”Always…Late.” The Goyle mumbled to herself, a small smile on her lips as she peered down at her watch. Considering her Gryffindor friend was nowhere to be found, Isabel was late…again.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] SO GATHER ALL THE REBELS NOW [attr="class","next"] The Winter Festival at Hogsmeade was one that everyone had to go to, be them a student or an adult. Each year she went, either with friends or with family when she was younger. But as she grew older and wiser, she stuck closer to friends for the event. She usually went once or twice before it disappeared and it was back to Hogwarts from the last bit of term, and this year, one of those days would be spent with Bryelle Goyle, one of her most faithful friends that dealt with her personality and seemed to stick around since day one. She couldn’t remember exactly what pushed the two of them together, but she was always thankful for the girl’s friendship. Before Christmas holiday was upon them, with the days leading up to it, they had agreed that they would go together and finished figuring it out the day before, through owls, on the final details – like when and where to meet. And so, like usual, Isabel was running late. She had lost her favorite jumper that she had planned to wear and was running around the house like a mad woman. Not being able to cast spells off the grounds of Hogwarts was a joke and would have easily saved time if she was allowed to use the Accio spell. Sadly, she eventually found it, but already knew that running late was unavoidable then. She threw herself in the shower, got dressed, did her hair and makeup, and practically ran for the train station, her long waves of brunette locks still somewhat wet but still perfect. She caught the train to Hogsmeade and was on her way, already late. Tapping her heeled leather boot against the ground, she looked around at all the people on the train and flew out of her seat the minute her stop was announced, and they had stopped. She started running or attempted to run in her heels, pulling her coat closer around her and holding onto her hat that sat on her head. Bryelle came into sight, standing just where she said that she would, and Isabel yelled, “I’m here! I’m here!” and just as she skidded to a stop in front of her friend, slightly panting she smiled, “Sorry—I know, I’m late. But I couldn’t find my damn jumper. God, I can’t wait to be able to use magic outside of Hogwarts…life will be so much easier with the Accio charm.” And just as those words left her lips, she held her arms open for a hug, and the two embraced, “Long time, no see B. How has your holiday been so far?” she asked as they pulled apart.

HOGSMEADE ALWAYS FILLED Bryelle with excitement. Each year provided some kind of difference than the last, and each year the Goyle was simply excited for the fresh cinnamon buns they presented within the food stalls. If only Isabel would hurry up...It was as if Isabel could hear the Goyle’s thoughts because in front of her, came her late mess of a friend. With a grin, Bryelle turned in the direction of her friend who skidded towards her and as Isabel spoke, the brunette pulled her friend into a tight embrace. It had only been two days since she last saw her friend, saying goodbye to her before she hoped off the train that pulled into Kings Cross Station and away she went with Renard. How glad she was that he picked her up. Again. ”It’s okay, it’s okaaay!” She somewhat sang, pulling away from her friend and admiring her outfit.
”You made a good choice with one thing today. That jumper is awfully adorable.” As simple as it was, Bryelle was just glad Isabel was here now and their day could finally begin! She couldn’t help but agree with the Oliveira there, magic outside of Hogwarts was one thing she was craving to use, especially with parents of her own. ”Don’t get me started. If Renard didn’t allow me to stay with him after Christmas until the holiday ends, I think I would’ve lost my mind and used some kind of charm to shut my mother up.” It wasn’t any sort of new news that Bryelle as well as her older brother didn’t like their parents…The surprise didn’t cross anyone’s mind truthfully. The Goyle adults were idiots. Completely.
”Same old.” She shrugged, in a response to her start of the holiday. ”Mum’s yelling about something, Dad’s standing around trying to provide support. I’m glad I only have to put up with them until Boxing Day. Then I’m bothering Renard until we go back to Hogwarts.” And bless Renard’s heart for it. Even if he was a cold man. ”Hows yours? How’s the sisters? And your adorable nephew? What’s his name again?” It had been a while since Bryelle had been over at Isabel’s home, but she recalled the last time being spent alongside her young nephew. Surely he wasn’t older than two at the time. Bryelle gestured the direction for the two to walk in, heading towards the stalls filled with pastry delights first.
