january 1, 2025 It had occurred to Jamie, probably more times than it should have, that there were people that she could have seen during her self-imposed exile to the Muggle world. There were wizards who frequented the Muggle world, even wizards who were more at home there than the wizarding world. There was a wizard she knew who practically lived and breathed Muggle, by virtue of his bloodline and upbringing. It was, after all, difficult to be a Muggle knight in line for the Muggle throne of England and not be intimately familiar with the affairs of the Muggle world. Jamie had considered a hundred times what it would be like to talk to someone who would maybe understand where she was coming from and what she was going through.
At the end of the day, though, Jamie hadn't wanted to burden Will, especially given their relationship was... well, Jamie didn't know the word for it. She would freely admit that she probably hadn't done as much to stomp out the flame that had ignited inside her when they had met at the Yule Ball a year ago as she should've, but even then... she didn't know. She didn't know where she stood, or where he stood, and there was a certain thrill in the freefall. But today wasn't about any of that, as much as it was occupying Jamie's brain. She was slowly emerging from hibernation, and Will, whatever he was to her, was important. She wanted to see him, so she had asked to meet him - simple as that.

Will was incredibly excited to hear from Jamie, especially since it had been a year since they had that New Years Eve kiss. He was seeing Finn now, happily, but there was still a joy in thinking back on his and Jamie's short lived relationship thing. It was hard for Will to keep touch when he delved back into the muggle world, only recently coming back out of it in order to join the cause against the Elaine and her people. He and Jamie had seen each other a few times since then, but then she had to disappear for a while too. Funny how people off set like that. He arrived at the meeting spot and grinned at her, "hey, long time no see," he greeted. @jamie

All at once, he was there. (Of course, Jamie didn’t expect him to come in parts, but it was still almost overwhelming to have him standing in front of her.) “You can say that again,” she said with a smile. She hesitated. “Are we supposed to shake hands or something?” She didn’t know if there were certain rules about propriety that Will had to follow, since he was a prince and all. From what Jamie had heard through the grapevine, he was also dating someone – it wouldn’t do to have his reputation sullied because he was seen hugging a strange, never-before-seen woman in a public place. “…I missed you.” It seemed like she was saying a lot of that lately, but no matter how many times Jamie repeated the words, they never seemed to get less true. She had missed everyone and everything about the wizarding world, and she guessed Will could empathize with that more than most.

He grinned at her words, and she asked about shaking hands which made him laugh. She added that she missed him and his grin became a little less goody, but still a grin. "Hey, no of course not," he answered, in reference to the hand shaking question. He stepped up to close the distance and wrapped his arms around her, shoulders, kissing her on the cheek before settling into the hug. "I bet you have a million stories to tell," he suggested, breathing in as he gave her a tight hug. He pulled back, just enough to put his hands on both of her shoulders. He bent down a little, making sure he was right in her eye line, "and are you okay?"@jamie

Jamie hated to admit how much better she felt upon learning that she wasn’t going to have to shake hands with Will. She really didn’t understand why people seemed to hold the royal family to impossibly high standards, but she felt better knowing that Will was at least allowed to hug his friends as often as he liked. Her cheeks pinkened when he kissed her, and Jamie was sure Will could see her blush when they pulled away from the hug.
“I’m… okay,” Jamie finally said. Even in the weeks she’d been back in the wizarding world things had been crazy, but it was the familiar kind of crazy, instead of the weird my-mother-might-die crazy that had taken over her life. “What about you? Have any royal gossip to share while I think of a fun story to tell?” Jamie’s eyes twinkled.

She said she was okay after a moment, asking how he was and the royal gossip and whatnot. He shook his head, "I guess not a lot. We did a dog adoption event last week at the castle, so that was fun," he released her shoulders, gesturing forward as he started to walk as to invite her to walk with him. "I'm dating someone too. Finn Nottingham -" he paused, "you probably don't know her, she hasn't really run in many circles here. She's from America," he explained. "Andy lives with us now at our apartment in London. Though, I'm sure that you knew about that. If you've seen her?" he angled toward her for a moment to ask the question. Andy and Jamie were close as far as he knew, maybe they still were. He didn't see Jamie giving up on that friendship and didn't see Andy doing that either. "She also kissed me a few month ago," he laughed, a full hearted one.
