She resisted him but he kept trying, chuckling as she said she was there of her own will. Eventually she let him succeed and he grinned happily and proudly. "Well, there must be a reason you wanted to. Perhaps the charm had something to do with it."She suggested they shuffle elegantly instead of hobbling and he furrowed his brow in thought. "That... could work," he answered. Then he laughed, "nah, those dogs can get wild if you let them. They've had their fair share of knocking priceless vases of shelves when they were younger," he recalled. "Though, they may be intimidated by his size," he added. Bruce, the gentle but not so gentle giant. At least in comparison. Will laughed one loudish bark. "Oh, no. He'd love if someone took me away," he suggested. At her next comment he laughed a little, "yes, I suppose that would be a topic of conversation, perhaps off in the garde-" as he turned toward the exit to the gardens he saw Ed, holding hands with Addi, heading out the door together. His jaw dropped a little, eyes narrowing. "Well, looks like he's taking someone else to the gardens," he nodded toward the door that the giggling Addilyn and the somehow smiling Edmund were slipping through. "That's him with the dark hair - the blond in the green dress is Addi."finn kylie nottingham

@will 12.31.2024 “Charm?” she raised her eyebrows at him. “Sir William, are you saying you charmed me to get me here?” Finn tried to contain her laugh, failing to do so even when trying to smother it with the back of her hand. Something about calling Will ‘Sir William’ really tickled her. Or maybe that was the bubbly drink in her hands. Finn was nowhere close to being a lightweight when it came to drinking (at least not anymore), but something about champagne and using it to calm her nerves did her in fast. The fact that there were members of the England’s royal family other than Will and his siblings within spitting distance was finally starting to sink in. Technically she didn’t know who was and was not a royal, aside for the ones that were always being blasted on the news, but all of the fanciest party members were definitely in the upper echelons of royalty, Queen included. A nerve calming elixir or charm would be an excellent idea if she could steal Will away from the main floor for a moment or two.
Continuing with their conversation was the best way from letting her nerves creep up on her, and she listened in shock that the Queen’s own dogs caused such extensive damage. Whenever she dropped a drinking glass it was basically the end of the world. Priceless vases, smashed by uncoordinated corgis, sounded like a horrifying experience to witness. “They’d probably get him riled up. Even though he’s getting older, huskies apparently never run out of energy.” She wished she had known that back when she first picked Bruce up (not that it would have made a difference in her decision). Keeping him cooped up in an apartment all day, especially when she lived in New York City, was easily the worst thing she had ever done to another living creature in her entire life; criminals excluded. Now he had a little more room and an unlimited amount of walks, though that was sure to change with her newly appointed position…
Before she had the chance to bring up the new job (or return to the old one?), Will stared in shock as he pointed Ed and his date out, both of whom were heading out into the garden. It made her feel a little giddy, intruding on two kids’ romance from a distance. “Looks like you Windsors know how to pick them,” she gave him a gentle nudge in the side. “What’s her family do? Her last name sounded familiar when you mentioned it earlier.”

Finn suggested that he charmed her to get her there and he shook his head, stopped, and then nodded once. ”Not necessarily. Only with my natural charm. No other kind, I swear on my life,” he said, his own laugh appearing as she hid hers behind her hand. ”What, seriously,” he commented, laughing still. A busser with champagne passed again and Will reached over to take two more off the tray, replacing his empty one as well. He definitely didn't mind getting in a good drink or four when it came to enjoying a royal evening. As they spoke further about the dog, Finn looked shocked and added that the corgis would probably get Bruce riled up. Will nodded, ”wouldn't be shocked,” he suggested. ”We should at least let him come play with the dogs at my mothers house,” he reminded, sure they had talked about it before. Bruce needed to get in some real wide open spaces and all. At the change of topic to noticing Addi and Edmund, Finn suggested that they 'knew how to pick them', nudging him. He wrinkled his nose in a bit of a sassy expression, still looking after his brother. He leaned toward Finn though, eyes still ahead, in the classic way that fancy people gossiped at parties like this. ”Her father works at the international cooperation law offices,” he explained, leaving the magic part out. ”Slater,” he reminded. Then he turned his head to look at her, ”maybe you've worked with him?”finn kylie nottingham

@will 12.31.2024 Her teasing wasn’t going to end now that she had a good hold on it. A skeptical look appeared on her face as he said it was all natural charm. “Alright mister, because if it happens again I’ll have to report you to the Ministry now that…” she trailed off, keeping her the glare trained on him. She wasn’t sure if now was the best time to be telling him about her new job. Or return to her previous one, rather. There were a lot of people to meet and greet, and she was sure there were going to be a lot of conversations to hold. Or maybe it would be a good time, because they would have to be on the same page when she started to go on about being a police officer again. It was the easiest cover-up in the world, though also not the most glorious of positions to hold amongst royals. At least in their world being an Auror was considered a worthy career path. Foolhardy at times, but definitely worth it.
“I think he’d love it. He might want to stay, even. He’s getting stubborn in his old age,” Finn laughed, thinking back on the last time she had brought him to a dog park near her apartment and he flopped down on the ground when it was time to leave and threw a fit because he wanted to keep playing. Normally she wouldn’t have cared, but when the sun was going down and it was freezing cold out, she had very little patience for her pooch’s antics. In the end they had stayed an extra thirty minutes, long enough for the rest of his new dog friends to go home. Then he was perfectly content with going back home.
Bruce aside, the conversation had shifted to the blonde girl at Edmund Windsor’s side, with Finn wracking her brain on where she had heard the last name before. Will explained where her father worked, but that wasn’t it either, though she was sure she would meet him soon enough considering her new position. “Wait!” she said loudly, as she finally remembered it. “Does she have a sister? She was in the papers for…apprehending a criminal,” her voice lessened as the sentence continued, the non-specifics taking over. An Auror that had killed one of the Purifiers. The first to do so since the start of everything. Finn was almost positive it had to be the same Slater, unless that was a common last name over here.
