21ST DECEMBER 2024
Edrik Krum hated waiting. It was one thing he absolutely couldn’t stand. He was known for never staying in one spot, always pacing around the Gryffindor common room back when he was still a student in Hogwarts. And during the times that there were holiday breaks, he paced around the Krum family home instead. But the twenty-first was a new day, with Christmas only a few days shy, the eldest Krum was given the job to pick up his siblings from King’s Cross. Which he had come way too early for. Though, Edrik was sure Iliana didn’t need the embarrassment that he looked forward to bring, but with Helena being a Sixth Year, he still saw her as a baby.
His relationship with each of his siblings varied, being the oldest had that kind of pressure to have something decent with each of them. With Irina, it was competitive as kids, doing as much as they could to prove to Papa on who was the better Gryffindor — Edrik of course — but it grew different once the two left the wizarding school. With Iliana, it was more so of a teasing friendship. They jabbed at one another but could always seek each other for advice. And with Helena…Well. That was Edrik’s baby sister. He treated her the same way Father would, as a precious girl and overprotective — not that he wasn’t with his other sisters — but Helena was still young.
Soon enough, the crowds began to increase more so as time passed by, Edrik felt himself sighing in relief once the faint whistle of the train was heard, pulling himself away from his thoughts. Dark eyes watched as the black painted train drew to a stop at the platform and eager parents were ready to grab at their children. Following the attacks, the Krum felt hesitant to step forward and instead found himself heading towards where the luggage was being picked up from. He collected both Helena’s and Ana’s before standing against the brick walls, waiting for his sister to make an appearance.@helena & hopefully this works

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE'RE ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY [attr="class","next"] Half of the term was over, and only a little bit was left to finish before she could officially say that she was entering her final year of Hogwarts. She was the youngest of the Krums and would be the last to graduate from Hogwarts, her older sister graduating once the term was back in session. A part of Helena was fearful of being the only child in Hogwarts left, scared that all her siblings were already gone and far away from being in school with her. Who was she to go to when she needed help? With no siblings, she would have to turn to friends – and while she didn’t mind that, there was something about speaking to Ana and Irina, or even Edrik, about her problems within the school that now it felt horrible to think about them leaving her behind. Luckily, she could ignore that fear as the Christmas Holiday was starting and she didn’t have to worry about it all for long. She was going to be able to spend time with her parents and her elder siblings that had graduated long ago. She was excited, giddy as she packed her suitcase and practically ran down the steps and towards the train when they were allowed to leave, throwing her bag down and pushing herself down into the plush seat. She sat with friends the entire ride home, talking and laughing as they promised to write to each other over the holiday and would see each other during the small holiday before returning to Hogwarts in a few weeks. While the train ride felt short, it was quite long, but she couldn’t tell—they arrived in the station as quickly as she had sat down, it felt like. Making her way out of the seat, train and onto the platform, she stood on her tip-toes to look around for a familiar face of a family member. She was unsure who would come to pick her and Ana up, but then she saw him. A smile grew on her face as she noticed Edrik standing against the wall holding two bags, most likely her clothes and Ana’s, and bound towards him. She smiled brightly as she landed in front of him, “Edrik!” she practically squealed over the loud platform.

It was hard to say where time had passed with time passing by so quickly for Edrik Krum. Days before felt like it was just October, but now it was already December 21st and his younger sisters were finally returning home to enjoy Christmas. Knowing Iliana already, as long as he collected her things, she would eventually meet the family later, perhaps to spend the day with her friends even though she had spent a few terms with them already. Edrik enjoyed Helena’s company in relation to his other sisters, Irina was his competitor and was ultimately dating his best friend, Iliana loved to prank him and Helena was the precious Krum of them all. Minus Edrik himself.
Holding both Ana’s and Helena’s bags in hand, he nodded in Ana’s direction once he saw her, noting he would be seeing her later on and barely had enough time to register his name was being called out. Turning his head away from his younger sister to his…younger younger sister, Edrik’s lips drew into a small smile, her little squeal leading to the older Krum dropping the bags, walking forward and pulling his Hufflepuff of a sister into a warm embrace. ”Hey Helly.” He greeted, a hand reaching up to ruffle her hair.
”How was school?”

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE'RE ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY [attr="class","next"] It had felt like centuries since she had last seen Edrik, and even Irina, because of the start of the school semester. She spent a lot of time seeing her older sister, Ana, but since the eldest Krum siblings had already graduated, their presence was greatly missed within the Hogwarts walls. While Helena was slightly closer to Irina, or rather she liked to believe she was, she did hold a special spot for her other two siblings. Let’s say Helena was the bundle of joy in the family with a bit of wild child within her, the perfect combination to be the last Krum born. The moment she was close enough to Edrik, who seemed to register he was being called from behind, she was pulled into a warm embrace, which drew a squeal from her mouth. She rolled her eyes at the nickname and the fact that he ruffled her hair once they withdrew from each other’s embrace, and she slowly smiled. “School was—great! I met a lot of new people cause of the Ilvermorny transfers. How has life on the outside been? How’s Quidditch?” she questioned curiously. Almost half of her family loved the sport, but because of Helena’s fear of heights – she’d never follow in her family’s footsteps.

EDRIK WAS SOMEWHAT of a busy man, especially with the transfer from Bulgaria’s local team to the local team back home: Appleby Arrows. Edrik had no sort of holiday at the first few months of the year, his mind focused on Quidditch and Quidditch alone. He hadn’t even gone to visit his friends until September — when the school year began, thus missing his chance to even bond with Iliana and Helena. Being graduated and somewhat employed proved that the life of an adult was no fun, instead filled with stress and ultimately time consumption. But with the months passing, seasons changing and the holidays around the corner, things felt a lot easier.
Edrik’s relationship with Helena wasn’t exactly the best, not like his relationship with Ana, Helena still held a soft spot for him considering she was the youngest. She was able to watch her grow in an understanding environment, especially since he was a few years older. It was as if Helena was the other three Krum children mixed together, minus past-Edrik’s terrible temper. ”Ilvermorny transfers?” He repeated, until he recalled the situation. ”Ah right! How are they? Any funky accents in there?” He grinned. Americans had the tendency to speak funny and strangely enough Edrik always found himself laughing because of it. It was weird.
”Quidditch is great Kiddo.” He said, adjusting his grip on her and Ana’s bags. ”Season started off great. Had a little slips, falls and bad games but we’re doing quite well right now.” Appleby Arrows as a whole was third in the Leaderboard, a good place to be but obviously not the best. ”As long as we’re above Wimbourne Wasps, I truly have no care in the world.” He laughed, smiling down at his shorter sister. ”Wanna get going? We’re apparating home and then I’m taking you out for lunch. Just until Mum and Dad get home from their Christmas shopping things. Maybe I’ll show you around my place too.”

YOU LOOK GREATEST WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE A DAMN QUEEN ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY, TRYING TO WIN AT LIFE
Edrik and Irina were much older than Helena was, and weren't there for long when Helena had come to Hogwarts. She was the youngest of the four siblings, the one that she was closer to age was Ana, and sometimes they acted more like annoying twins than two years apart. Sometimes Ana got under her skin, and the brunette would probably say the same about Helena.
While her relationship with her older brother wasn't exactly close, since he was more in sync with Ana, who was into Quidditch like he was, they got along quite a lot. She was always so happy to see him, especially now.
She laughed as he seemed confused about the Ilvermorny transfers, but instantly seemed to remember before she even got the chance to say something. She nodded her head, "Some were a little confused when term started, but slowly they got the hang of it. They do! All of them have accents, but there was a couple with a southern drawl that was just plain weird," she said with a wrinkle of her nose. She didn't hate it, but she enjoyed hearing some of them talk - just as much as they enjoyed hearing her accented voice. Each didn't know they had one, but there was one.
Helena nodded her head as if she understood just what her brother was talking about. She knew of the Wasps team, but that was about as far as she went. She was forced to take flying in her first year as well as attend matches at Hogwarts, and she read the paper whenever her brother played, but that was about it. Ana knew more. "I'm ready if you are," she said with a huge grin, excitement returning to her little being, "Oh? Where are we going for lunch?" @edrik

IT WAS EXPECTED OF THE TRANSFERS to have ridiculous funny accents, considering they were American after all. ”I can imagine the younger ones were well excited…And maybe a bit confused. I know I would be.” It must have been horrible, moving instantly after the summer ended, and being a first year, it would’ve been hectic, merging with the new first years who were originally enrolling into Hogwarts. ”How weird is weird?” He found himself asking with a smile. It had been a while since Edrik had heard anyone with a thick accent, aside from his and his fellow Quidditch players anyway.
The Krum nodded, leading his little sister towards the Apparating area, the same way a few other people were going. ”Anywhere. I was thinking somewhere for sandwiches? Anything works really.” Ice cream was out of the question considering the youngest Krum was lactose intolerant anyway.

'I can imagine the younger ones were well excited…And maybe a bit confused. I know I would be. How weird is weird?' Helena smiled and gave a little giggle, "You'd probably only agree if you heard it for yourself. But it kind of sounded like they had food in their mouth, but you could understand them better than someone with their mouth full...kinda?"
She really didn't know how to describe what the accent sounded like, but it wasn't the best accent she had heard. "Oooh sandwiches, I would die for a sandwich!" she said, almost moaning at the idea of a sandwich.

THERE WERE TIMES EDRIK MISSED Hogwarts. Those times were usually when he sat back and reconsidered how far he had gotten since leaving the wizarding school and in all fairness, Edrik felt like he had gotten pretty far. He was turning twenty within a week or so, and his team weren’t doing…too bad in the league. Too bad could eventually turn for the worse and eventually a reconsideration on if the team is right of him would need to be thought of. Even if his father would hate that Edrik was ‘simply giving up’.
”Maybe I’ll be able to one day. If I suddenly become a famous Quidditch player and the school wanna bring me in or something.” He chuckled, raising his hand to push at his hair. Sandwiches sounded like a good snack for this time of day, especially now since the eldest Krum was almost a hundred-percent sure Helena hadn’t eaten anything prior to getting on the train. ”Sandwiches it is then. Some tea also yeah?” The two turned the corner, finally reaching the Apparating area. To catch his breath, Edrik placed down his sister’s bags before turning back to look at her. ”Ready?” He said, lifting his hand so she could hold onto him.
