Claudia started talking about how ice skating was similar to ballet, going off on how that obviously lead up to her ice skating abilities. He laughed, surprised when it actually happened. Sure, Ed was in a good mood, but it wasn't normally so easy for him to laugh and joke around with other people. Well, other people that weren't Addi. He could joke around with her all day. "There you go," he started, shaking his head a little as he spoke, "You thought you were training for ballet all your life, but you were really meant for the ice. And I introduced you to it. So I guess that means you owe me ..." he trailed off, smirking now. He shrugged when she asked about his tricks. "I'd tell you ... but then you'd be in on state secrets sooooo ..." Wow, really? He was teasing her so easily. It was weird, but at the same time it was also kind of fun. Huh.

Edmund teased her about thinking that she was training her whole life for ballet but she had really been training for ice skating. She couldn’t imagine the horror on her moms face if she announced that she was giving up ballet in favor of ice skating. After all the time and money that her family had put into her ballet studies, it was unthinkable that Claudia would do anything else with her life. But it wasn’t so unthinkable, obviously, that they hadn’t agreed to homeschool her so that she could keep up with the other girls her age who were studying ballet too. Every summer she begged her mother not to make her go back and to homeschool her instead. But no luck. Hogwarts it was. “I’ll be sure to thank you in my bio during the Olympics.” she teased. She couldn’t imagine figure skating in the Olympics, it was never something that would happen, though it was always fun to watch. “Though I suppose if I was on the English team and I thanked an English prince that could be seen as a conflict of interest.” she smirked. He shook his head, telling her that he couldn’t tell her what else he did because she’d steal them and do them for herself too. “I’m not that evil.” she giggled.

This whole conversation was way more fun than Edmund expected. He wasn't normally the type of person to want to do small talk and tease and mess with someone else, but today it just seemed to be working out. With Claudia, no less. He never would have expected this. He chuckled when she mentioned thanking him at the Olympics. "You'd better, or I might have to do my best to pull strings and get you off the team." Yeah right. Even if Edmund could do something like that, he never would. He cocked his head to the side. "A conflict of interest? Playing for our team and thanking me?" Edmund smirked. He wan't quite sure what she was getting at by that, but he wasn't going to let on. He lifted an eyebrow as she giggled, saying she wasn't evil. "Not now. Maybe changing from ballet to ice skating will change you. Who knows?" They continued to skate around, Ed still feeling surprised by how comfortable he was with her today. It was strange, but not necessarily in a bad way.

He seemed to not understand the conflict of interest and Claudia giggled a little, he couldn’t be that clueless. “Well a prince can’t just go around putting his friends on the olympic team, can he?” she explained, but then she started to wonder whether or not they would even be considered friends. They had known each other for years, and they spoke often enough, but she wasn’t sure if they were actual friends. She considered him a friend, mostly when she was bored and wanted to hang out with him. She didn’t think about the prince too much other than that. She laughed when he talked about how changing sports could change her. “As fun as this is, I don’t think it’ll be a permanent change, so Ice Skating can stay your domain. Maybe I’ll teach you some ballet sometime.” she suggested, though she didn’t really think he’d ever take her up on her offer.

She was laughing now and Ed let himself smile, shrugging noncommittally. "Princes can do whatever they want," he answered airily. "That doesn't mean everyone approves, but we can ..." He was teasing, and fairly certain Claudia would know this, but it was fun to tease her. She was easy to talk to and he was enjoying their adventure on the ice far more than he expected to when she approached him earlier. Definitely better than wandering around on his own. "Your loss. You could be a star," Ed responded again, snorting when she mentioned teaching him ballet. "Not sure I have the arm strength for that, or the leg strength, or the mental stuff." He was joking, but also serious. Ballet was definitely not something that interested him very much.

She laughed when he teased her. Of course she wasn’t actually expecting him to do her any favors, she didn’t want anyone to do anything to get her anything. She wanted to get where she wanted to be on her talent alone. But it was fun to tease about, and it was nice that he didn’t take himself too seriously as a prince. It was almost easy to forget that he was one. He was just so normal. He didn’t seem to thrilled about her offer to teach him some ballet, he insisted he didn’t have the arm strength, or leg strength, or mental strength and she giggled. “Well maybe you can just watch me then.” she shrugged. “Anyway, I think I should get off the ice.” she decided. They had been there for a while now and the longer she was there, the higher her chances of injury became.

Edmund nodded, relieved when Claudia amended her suggestion to him watching ballet instead of participating in it. He could definitely watch. "I'll look forward to seeing you dance then," he told her with a small chuckle. Anything to keep him from participating. If Will ever heard anything about Edmund dancing ballet, even just with a friend, Ed would never hear the end of it. That was not going to happen. He nodded. "Here," he led her to the edge of the ice skating rink, leaving it with her. "Thanks for skating with me," Ed added, actually meaning it. "We should hang out again sometime." As friends, of course, since he was very much into Addilyn Slater. They were ... not quite dating, but basically doing so? Ed wasn't sure, it was complicated. He wouldn't complicate their relationship further, but doing things with a friend wouldn't complicate anything, he was sure.

Edmund agreed to watch her dance and then helped her to the edge of the rink. She’d certainly have to make sure he got tickets to her next performance. She would be teaching and dancing with the London Ballet School over the summer, so that was decently high up at least. It wasn’t like she was still in a lesser known company. At least it was a little more impressive. He thanked her for skating with him and then suggested that they should do something again sometime. Claudia nodded, taking hold of the railing and stepping out of the rink. “I’d like that.” she agreed. She had always been interested in Prince Edmund, but, after today, she wasn’t sure she was interested in him as a lover at all. He wasn’t exactly her type. Claudia sat down and changed back into her boots before she continued to the festival, wondering who she’d come across next.
