Hey lovely members!

In light of recent events, we (the staff) has been working on a new system to encourage, and reward affiliation involvement. Or, to put it another way: The future of Alohomora’s plot.

Over the past year the staff has been attempting to implement a system where you, the members, decide the fate of the plot by participating in official Missions. Unfortunately we’ve not seen the success we’d hoped. So, it’s time for change.

Something I want to make clear: From this point on the staff will not control, or push the plot. We will only react to you, the members, participating in the new plotting system. Which also means nothing will happen if you, the members, don’t participate. How will we be reacting? Well, that is explained below.

The current mission system is being scrapped.

In it's place, Alohomora will be running off of a 'participating' system. Which is to say, if you do stuff for your affiliation your affiliation will be rewarded. The more you participate, the better. 

HOW IT WILL WORK

• Each affiliation will have a thread completion minimum.
• Every 5 members of an affiliation will raise the thread completion minimum by 2.
• Reaching a thread completion minimum will earn your affiliation a reward.
• For a thread to count a) It must have at least 10 posts   Be beneficial to your affiliation and not go against anything your affiliation is currently doing/trying to do. c) It must be with other members and not your own characters. d) You MUST complete the thread. Abandoned threads will not count.
• You have a choice of doing whatever you'd like for an affiliation thread. We'll provide a list of affiliation thread ideas up for grabs as well if you want to participate but can't think of what to do.
• These are just the basics guidelines so far. They are still subject to potentially change as we work out the kinks.

WHAT WE NEED

The staff needs suggestions on some of the rewards you, as members, would like to see. Things that we can give the affiliations for reaching their thread minimums. We need small and large rewards. So, the staff is asking that you post your ideas in this thread! Things you feel your affiliation could need/use, plot rewards that make sense, items, exemptions, etc! Anything you can think of!

Until we have worked out the rewards this system is NOT in use. We wanted to lay out the idea and get everyone's input on reward ideas before setting it in stone.

In terms of rewards, I would say Galleons would be a large one because people could spend them how they want, though I also like the idea of there being affiliation-specific perks, like—and I'm going off of the latest plot developments here—let's say that the Daily Prophet finds out that there was actually a struggle between two groups involved in the Azkaban breakout. If Heliopath met their targets, the reward would then be that the members would gain immunity from being outed by name, or something.

I also like the idea of getting wanted ads for an affiliation based on hitting targets, like how Kath unlocked the character who became Elliot for doing the mission as Padma. It could be swaying characters to one side or another, for example; like, if Ouroboros hits their target first, they then get X character available. I think it might be a good incentive to have the character descriptions up, in that case, so that people could see what the ad would be for and what perks their side would get out of winning.
