[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE'RE ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY [attr="class","next"] DECEMBER 22, 2024 Helena had been home about a day now, having arrived home via the train the previous day along with her older sister, Ana. Brought home by Edrik, she spent some time with him before removing herself to her room for the night and almost half the day. Getting to sleep in for once was nice for the youngest Krum, and when she awoke as the clock struck noon, she knew that she couldn’t hide forever. She was surprised she slept this long with a headache throbbing at the back of her head, but it seemed that perhaps she needed the extra sleep. Pushing her feet into the plush rug of her bedroom, her eyes moved around it, and she smiled. The walls were a pale cream color, practically white, with strokes of blue throughout. Her room was mostly blue, from the plush soft rug that her feet curled into, her comforter a mixture of blue and white. She missed her room sometimes, especially when Hogwarts dorms were just the color of the house and never changing, dull and bland to accommodate everyone sleeping in that room. She heaved herself off the bed and left her room, stomping down the steps rather loudly and made her way for the kitchen. The kitchen wasn’t empty as she had expected, but a female with dark hair was within. She smiled, “Morning,” she breathed out as she made her way towards the fridge that sat in there, looking to get some juice or something. She wasn’t that hungry, but she could eat.
NOTES hope this works & hopefully it is in the correct location! [newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px;[/newclass][newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #000;[/newclass]

Irina was dreaming a funny sort of dream; she was on a strange narrow cobblestone street. No, it was more of an alley the more she thought of it. It must have been in a bad neighborhood because there were a lot of boxes and barrels with very few people. She noticed someone slumped over and tried to get a closer look, but it was as if an invisible barrier was blocking her from moving any further than her current position. Confused and slightly annoyed, she tried moving her feet, but froze when the figure stirred and stood up. She’d recognize those dark curls anywhere, but what was Daniel doing on the street? She tried to yell over to him, but her voice was caught in the back of her throat; she was as mute as a ghost. Eyes widening, she saw a pale figure reach towards him. She tried to scream, but she couldn’t; it was agonizing - what were they going to do to him?? Irina woke with a start, gasping for air as she wiped the sheen of sweat from her forehead. She was in her old room at her parents house; of course, it was the holidays and both Ana and Helena had come home from Hogwarts. She glanced at the clock beside her bed and gasped. Almost noon? How was that possible? She thought back to the dream she had had and groaned. Ah yes, that was why. She struggled to her feet and slipped on her purple bathroom, trodding down to the empty kitchen. She imagined Helena was still sleeping - she had never been the early bird Irina was - and Ana and Ed were likely out for the day. Making a mug of tea, she sat down at the kitchen table and rubbed her temples tiredly. She was pretty sure what she had seen had been a vision, but what an odd vision it was. Dan would never put himself in that kind of position, so she had to be positive that it wasn’t going to come true. A soft noise behind her confirmed that Irina was not the last one to wake this morning, and she turned to smile at her baby sister. “Morning Lena,” she said softly, stifling a yawn. “Do you want some breakfast? I can do...well, toast,” she added, grinning a bit sheepishly. Irina was still not much of a cook, not like their mother at least. But she could make toast quite easily. @helena

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE'RE ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY [attr="class","next"] Her elder sister, Irina, had been sitting in the kitchen when she had entered, seeming to have just recently woke up just as Helena had. Helena wasn’t one to wake up as early as others, except for at Hogwarts because she was forced to or she would miss out on breakfast—but here, at home? She could sleep all day if she pleased, though that would be wasting what little bit of holiday she had. Sleeping forever made her feel gross and groggy, but after her time at Hogwarts, she felt…somewhat refreshed. She wasn’t fully awake, but she would likely get there after some tea and some food. ‘Do you want some breakfast? I can do…well, toast,’ Helena giggled, looking back at her sister with somewhat tired eyes. “I could go for some toast…do we have cinnamon powder?” she questioned softly, turning around to go through the cabinets. She enjoyed cinnamon toast, not like French toast, but the kind where you put butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon—now that was delicious and easier to make. It just involved a toaster, instead of a stove.

Irina smiled fondly down at Helena as she asked for the cinnamon powder. “Of course, you know Mother wouldn’t leave the kitchen devoid of cinnamon powder,” she confirmed, pulling open a cabinet and plucking the cinnamon power out from its spot on the spice rack. She put several pieces of bread to toast, before buttering them and spreading a liberal amount of cinnamon on the slices. “Here you are, some cinnamon bread,” she said, sliding the plate over to her sister before munching on a piece herself. The sweet and buttery flavor reminded her of their childhood. Elena Krum would make this toast special for her children when they were under the weather, saying it was a special treat for them. Now of course they could eat it whenever they wanted, but Irina still liked to save it for special occasions. Being the only one in the house with her youngest sister during the holidays seemed like a special enough time. “Just a few more days and then its’ back to Hogwarts for you and Ana,” Irina commented after their breakfast had been eaten. “Are you looking forward to anything in particular?” she asked. Helena was a sixth year, so she had the reprieve of not having to take OWL or NEWT exams that year. Still, it was the year she had really solidified her decision to become a Cursebreaker after Hogwarts, and she knew Helena would need to make a similar choice sooner rather than later. She realized that she had no idea what her baby sister wanted to do, and that made her feel a little sad. She hoped Helena would share her thoughts with her now, when it was just the two of them. @helena

Helena hadn't been home in an entire term, meaning that the last time she had been in the kitchen was the morning of the train ride to Hogwarts. For all she knew, her mother had run out of her favorites and forgot to stock the house once more for the return of Helena and Ana. However, Irina was quick to diminish any thought of her mother, forgetting to stock the home with the beloved cinnamon powder.
Irina quickly made the toast and slid the plate over to the young brunette, and she smiled, "Thanks," came the young girl's reply as she took a bite and almost moaned. Why didn't Hogwarts have such a treat?
She took another bite as her elder sister asked some more questions about what she was looking forward to. And she shrugged, "I'm not sure really. A part of me doesn't want to go back, means I'm one step closer to being alone..." she breathed out truthfully, licking her lips of cinnamon. It sounded a little sad when it was said out loud, but it was how she felt.

Irina smiled a little as Helena bemoaned about being alone at Hogwarts. “Nonsense, I’m sure you’ll end up loving it. Being the only Krum? Nobody to dog your every step?” she told her teasingly. She was quite certain Edrik loved being the only Krum at Hogwarts his first year at school, until she had come around a year later. “It’ll be your last year to really make a statement, a name for yourself so people will remember you.” Irina had not exactly gotten that chance, except perhaps in her stubborn willfulness to NOT join the Gryffindor Quidditch team like her mother had wanted. She supposed that was better than nothing though. “Ana and I never got the chance to be on our own at school, so you’ll have to fill us in on the glorious details next fall in dozens of letters,” she told her, trying to get her enthused at the idea of having Hogwarts to herself, while reminding her that her sisters and brother would always be just an owl away. @helena
