Joe could tell by the look on Doms face that she now wanted to see the view on the roof. A laugh slipped past his lips and he chuckled a bit, cocking his head toward her, "Really?" he asked her surprised, unable to hold back the laughter. She was ridiculous, but equally awesome. Joe stepped over toward the window in the hallway and pushed it open, knocking the screen out so that it stayed outside. Cold air instantly greeted them, but it was also very refreshing from the toasty mansion. His green eyes narrowed at her, "I don't care about messing up my suit. I'm more concerned about you tripping over your dress and falling off the roof.." he objected in a playfully serious tone.
Joe stepped out first so that he could help her onto the side of the roof, staying close to the wall and offering her a hand. "Well, since I know you can't deny a challenge..C'mon, slow poke." he teased jokingly, taunting her to come outside now.

Dom gave Joe a rueful smile and nodded her head, "Yes really, you punk. You can't suggest an awesome view without making me want to see it." Honestly though. Dom was all in when it came to good views, seeing the sights and such. She'd never been to New York before, but she would likely be leaving tonight when the party ended. It would be sad if she didn't get to see anything but the Fontaine mansion, even though that in and of itself was incredibly impressive.
He announced that he wasn't concerned about his suit, that he was more worried she would trip over her dress and fall off the roof. Dom rolled her eyes, "I'll have you know, Mr. Fontaine, that I am incredibly graceful. I don't fall over unless I want to," she smirked, her memory flitting to the day they met for a second. Then she added, "and I'd hate to ruin your night, and mine, by getting myself injured."
The next thing she knew, he was stepping through a window in his room, onto the roof. Oh! She didn't realize he meant they'd be going onto the room here. She found herself suddenly a bit more excited than she was a few minutes ago, stepping right up to the window. She smirked, taking his hand when he offered it and bending down just enough so that she could get out of the window easily. She squeezed his hand a little, "All right, you got me out here. Now what?" Dom glanced around with interest.

Dom easily convinced Joe to show her the view that he was talking about. After opening the window and stepping outside onto the side of the roof, she was still game. Even with how cold it was outside in December. He knew they had to be careful since there could still be ice on the roof top that they could slip on. Joe chuckled at her 'falling' comment, easily thinking back to when they met and he tripped over a planter in Hogsmeade at the sight of the enchanting redhead. "Falling on command is quite the skill." Joe commented with a nod, before sending her a more responsible expression for once. "Promise me you'll be careful." Joe urged her firmly as she stepped outside beside him. He held her hand still, lacing fingers now, unwilling to take any chances of losing her. When the redhead asked what was next, he started to slowly guide her toward the upward slant of the roof, "Lets go!" he exclaimed with a smile, green eyes widening with excitement as he squeezed her hand back.
It only took about 20 seconds until they were at the top of the mansion. If Joe's parents knew they were up there they'd be a little irritated since they thought he'd grown out of that bad habit - and they just replaced a bunch of broken tiles because of him. Joe finally stopped, getting a good footing on the roof with his feet, he took off his coat and laid it on the roof so that Dom could sit. He didn't want her to sit on the 'ground' in a dress, the least he could do was offer his coat for her to sit on... Again, thank Merlin for magic, the suit wouldn't get too dirty. "Sit with me and check out the view." Joe gestured an invitation for her to sit next to him before he lowered himself down onto the roof. The sound of car horns blaring, and Muggles partying could be heard in the distance. Joe felt the need to explain what was around them. "The Manhattan and Brooklyn bridge is behind us, but you can see the statue of liberty over there...and the harbor has a firework show probably going on at any moment." he informed her with a small smile. "What do you think?" he asked Dom, already knowing she'd tell him anyways. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the party and slow down with good company.

Dom smirked when Joe commented that falling on demand was a skill. Perhaps, but she rarely did so. Most of the time it was more fun to be outrageously graceful and watch everyone else fall around you. She wouldn't say that though. Her smile grew a little when Joe's face grew more serious and her eyes twinkled at his words. "I'll do no such thing," she muttered softly. "Wouldn't want you to feel too comfortable around me." Yes, Dom was teasing, but at the same time she wasn't. Of course she wouldn't hurt herself on purpose, but she wanted to have all of Joe's attention, no matter how she had to get it. Shouldn't be too hard with them alone here though. She grinned when he laced their fingers, squeezing his hand a little again. Apparently he wasn't going to let anything happen to her, which Dom definitely liked.
She followed him, stepping carefully until they were at the top. Dom's mouth opened a little as she stared around, taking in the view. Okay, this was gorgeous. No denying it. She glanced over at Joe, who was taking off his coat so she could sit on it. "Such a gentleman," she teased lightly, already moving to sit beside him. He tarted pointing things out and Dom looked with interest, nodding as she saw the things he described. "It's so pretty. Your city is huge," she told him, still looking around. Then she turned to meet his gaze. "Are the fireworks as fantastic as the city?" she asked in a soft voice. Turning when she heard a boom and bright lights started to fill the sky. "It isn't midnight yet, is it?" Dom asked with a laugh. It couldn't be. Time didn't pass that quickly, did it? Still, she watched the fireworks with rapt attention, her hand sliding over to find Joe's again.

When Dom made another comment about him being a gentleman, Joe simply grinned with a wink, slowly scooting closer to Dom to enjoy the view. He sat close to her as a way to share body warmth, but more so enjoying being close to Dom. From the first day they met he had been intensely drawn to her. The redhead effortlessly kept his interest and always on his toes, something he really admired because not many people were capable of doing that. He liked that she just wanted to have fun and acted more on impulse, it kept things exciting.
He turned to her when she turned to him, feeling her gaze and matching it. "The city is far more 'fantastic'." Joe declared, a slight twinkle in his eye when he teased her word choice with a small smile. He liked it, it fit Dom. "I wish I could show you." Joe mused, giving her hand a squeeze. It was true, the fireworks were nothing compared to his epic city. There was so much more to see! Dom asked if it was midnight yet and he pulled out his phone to check the time on the screen, "It's 10:00." he told her, suddenly wishing it were 12.
The corners of his lips curled into a smile, green eyes attempting to meet her gaze again, his expression flickering with mischievous flirtatiousness. "But it's 12 o'clock somewhere..." he hinted, resisting the urge to laugh at the stupid comment as he leaned in to see if Dom would be okay with him kissing her softly on the lips.

It was so much fun for Dom to just be here with Joe. He was easy to talk to, even easier to flirt and hang around with and Dom never felt any pressure with him. Maybe that was because they were both so similar in personality, or maybe it was because she didn't know about all the tragedies that happened when she was at school. She wasn't about to mess that up by telling him either. Dom just wanted to enjoy her time with him. He was one of the few people she knew she'd be able to have a blast with, even at a stuffy New Years Party, though in all honesty it didn't seem too stuffy.
He told her that the city was better than the fireworks and a thoughtful frown crossed her face. If only he could show her the city ... but now wasn't the time. Not that she wasn't up for that or whatever, but she didn't want to get him in trouble with his parents by convincing him to ditch. She shrugged a little, "Maybe sometime I can come back and you could show me a bit?" she suggested. Dom liked big cities. She also liked things she didn't know. Coming to see New York with Joe sounded like a lot of fun.
She nodded slowly when he told her that it was ten o'clock, about to ask him why they were doing fireworks two hours before midnight, but then Joe was looking at her again, mentioning with almost casual flirtatiousness that it was twelve o'clock somewhere. A smirk crossed her face as she leaned a little closer to him, getting his meaning instantly. "Well, we wouldn't want to miss out on the chance to celebrate now, would we?" Dom muttered inches away from his lips before she closed the distance between them, even more glad that the two of them were outside, alone.

When Dom proposed the idea of her visiting another time for him to show her the city, he perked up slightly, more down for the idea than he thought. Before Dom said it, he hadn’t realized how much he really wanted to show her where he grew up. She was hospitable enough to show him around Hogsmeade, as well as the Shrieking Shack. Joe was eager to show her his epic city. The longer he was in Scotland, the more he yearned to be back in the bustling city. ”Let’s make it a date.” he told her with a smile, liking that he could say those things without her getting all weird and awkward. Dating was fun in general, Joe knew she wouldn’t take it too seriously, they were very similar in that way.. Well for as far as he could tell.. Joe truthfully didn’t know Dom for very long to judge.
Joe could tell by the look on her face that she was wondering why fireworks were starting so early, but they happened in the harbor sporadically through the night before the grand finale. ”A little practice never hurt anyone.” he agreed, closing the gap between them and locking the kiss. His hand cupped the side of her face as they mesh lips, gravitating closer to pull her in. After a couple of seconds, he pulled away to match her gaze. The corners of his lips slowly tugged upwards, ”Besides, our last kiss was interrupted by dragons.” he said with a chuckle, before kissing her again.
(I read something about a firework show on the harbor at 10PM on NYE so I went with that lmaoo)

Dom could see the fact that Joe liked the idea of showing her around New York. Honestly, she liked the idea too. It would give her more time with Joe, and the place did seem really cool. It was in all sorts of movies and even from a distance looked beautiful. She was sure she'd have a good time there. He suggested they make it a date and Dom nodded. "Whenever you want," she answered easily. Honestly, he was the one that was busier than she. He had school and she didn't, so she'd work around his schedule. Sadly, he probably wouldn't be able to show her around until summer ... unless they went now, but she wasn't going to suggest that. If he did ... but he wasn't.
She smirked when he commented that practice never hurt anyone. Dang, the two of them were so similar! It was almost creepy, except for the fact that it was just perfect. Dom loved it. He held her close as he kissed her and Dom leaned closer, her hands making their way to his shoulders. She whined ever so softly when he pulled away from her, teasing her about their last kiss. Dom narrowed her eyes at him, "If that happens again, I'm totally blaming you." She kissed him hard, before smiling and muttering against his lips, "Cause I'm definitely not bad luck like that." She liked how it felt to have his lips against hers, his arms pulling her close. She held him back, relaxing as they kissed. She didn't even feel cold yet, which was a definite plus.

"I will take the blame if it means I get to kiss you again." he said, smiling slowly with a twinkle in his eye. Vibing with Dom was effortless. Her energy was intoxicating, she always kept him wanting more. Tonight had already gone better than he would have ever anticipated. After sharing a kiss with her again, they were caught into a full fledged make out, pulling her into his lap and into his body with desire. He yearned to have her closer.
It was easy lose track of time sucking face with Dom. After only Merlin knows how long, he pulled away breathlessly, opening his eyes to meet her gaze. ”Wow.” he breathed heatedly, unable to hide the smile from his face. His lips were raw from kissing her for so long, he could barely catch his breath. He liked it. His green eyes softened ever so slightly, ”We should probably go back inside now..” he said with a slight pout, obviously not wanting that. Realistically he could stay on the roof top all night making out with Dominique. It had to almost be midnight now.

Dom rolled her eyes when Joe said the blame was worth being able to kiss her again, though she wasn't surprised in the slightest. He was a flirt and he knew how to have fun. He was just buttering her up, and it was working. The next thing she knew, the two of them were wrapped in a passionate embrace, definitely snogging on a rooftop. It was more fun that she would have expected, had she ever thought of it before.
Eventually, he was the one who pulled away. Dom made a little face at him, but admitted it was probably a smart thing to do. It was getting colder out here the later it got and, while she didn't feel cold, if they stayed out too long they would probably catch a cold or something. She smirked when he said wow, liking the pleased expression on his face. "Not bad yourself, Mr. Fontaine," she teased. He said that they should probably go back inside and she hesitated a second before nodding and rising to her feet, extending a hand to him. "I supposed that makes sense. Someone will probably be missing you, won't they?" She wished they wouldn't, wished she and Joe could stay out here for as long as they wanted. She smirked again, "If we hurry, maybe we'll make it back in time for a midnight kiss," she winked at him. Had they been snogging for more than an hour? Two? She honestly had no idea, but she wouldn't be surprised. She kind of lost track when she was with Joe.
The next thing she knew, they were climbing back in through the window and she glanced over at him, holding her arms out. "Do I look presentable?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow as she waited for his answer.

Luckily, Dom agreed to go inside without much of a guilt trip, although he would have rather stayed right where they were continuing their snog fest. It was getting colder... He was starting to notice it now that he didn't have Doms body warmth pressed against him. What a welcoming feeling that was, he was already starting to miss it. Joe frowned slightly before tugging his lips upwards into a smile when Dom said that someone was probably missing him. Yeah, maybe his parents, or siblings... Dom was the only person he cared to entertain tonight, she was his date after all. As they made their way toward the window, he stole one last kiss from her, lips moulded against hers tenderly before breaking away. "One last one." he chuckled, already knowing that was a lie, it was close to twelve. He could hear people on the streets in the neighborhood around them.
When Dom asked if she looked presentable, he gave her an obvious look. "You look amazing." he chimed with a grin, bringing a hand up to tuck a ginger tress behind her ear. He enjoyed the last moment alone with Dom before having to face the rest of the party.
Joe stayed close to Dom as he lead her down the hallway back toward the party downstairs, where people could be heard getting prepared for the ball to drop. Joe looked around in slight confusion, mixed with excitement. "Oh, it's almost time." Joe stated, somewhat surprised at their perfect timing. He turned to her with a chuckle, bobbing his head up in down in agreement. "It's a good thing we practiced." he winked, grabbing her by the waist to pull her close. People all around them were preparing for the countdown, frantically choosing their midnight kiss partners and friends to cheers with.

Dom was thoroughly enjoying every moment of this. She loved the view of the city that he showed her from the rooftop, the privacy element from escaping the party and how he showed her his dog. She enjoyed that she didn't always know what to expect with him, like how he kissed her one more time before they climbed in the window so they could join the party once more. She chuckled, "Like I'm going to believe that," she muttered. If he was being serious and wouldn't kiss her again, well ... she'd probably kiss him then. It was tradition, after all.
Joe said she looked amazing and Dom offered a pleased smile in return, stepping a little closer when he moved her hair behind her ear. It was a simple gesture, but it also felt intimate and she was a little surprised by how much she enjoyed it. She liked little moments with Joe.
They reached the party before midnight, which Dom definitely considered a win. It means she would definitely be getting another kiss, though it probably wouldn't be as intense as their make out session on the roof had been. She could deal with that. She quirked an eyebrow as he teased her and pulled her close. "Really? I thought we were doing pretty well, even without the practice." She smirked as the people around them started a countdown from ... a minute? Why couldn't they just start at ten like normal people? "I don't think a minute has ever lasted so long before," she commented with a dry chuckle, smiling as she looked up at Joe. They were almost the same height, but he was just barely taller than her, a fact Dom didn't mind in the slightest. "I don't know if I can make it," she teased. The counters were down to thirty now.

As they found their spots down stairs in the crowd of people, Joe stood close to Dom, ready for the final countdown. She made a comment about thinking that they were already doing pretty well without the practice, Joe cocked the eyebrow at her playfully, "Yeah, well, practice makes perfect." he said with a wink, a laugh slipping past his lips because he knew it sounded cheesy. In a lot of ways it was very true though. Not only in the kitchen, but also on the quidditch pitch, practice makes perfect.
The countdown was at 30 seconds when Dom made a joke about not being able to make it. His hands found their way at her waist, "Here, I'll help.." he joked flirtatiously, taking a step toward her to hold her close, making it so that she could comfortably wrap her arms around the nape of his neck. They were preparing for this midnight kiss. Apparently they took this seriously.
"3...2...1-" The room counted down and right as the countdown struck midnight, fireworks, sirens, and excited screams went off all around them. Confetti showered from the ceiling and Joe pressed his lips against Doms, they enjoyed another heated, prolonged kiss.

Dom couldn't help but laugh at Joe's teasing comment. She knew he was just messing around, and she liked how comfortable he felt teasing her, that he didn't get intimidated around her. She quirked an eyebrow at him, "Oh, so are we working towards perfection then?" Dom shot right back, smirking. She wasn't arguing against it, she loved kissing Joe.
Dom chuckled at Joe's immediate reaction to her complaining. He took her waist and stepped closer and Dom lifted her arms to rest around his neck, quirking an eyebrow at him. "Ooooh I'm hanging out with Mr. Helpful," she teased.
At least he was right. He'd distracted her from the countdown going on around them and the next thing she knew it was at 1 and Joe was kissing her yet again. She returned his kiss, enjoying it until the noise around them started to rise again. Apparently other people were done. She pulled away, pouting a little. "You had to bring us back to public for that one, didn't you?" she muttered, leaning her head against his shoulder. Most of the people around them were going back to their dancing and talking now. Dom didn't care about any of that. Sure, she liked dancing, but she didn't come here for the dancing. After a moment she pulled back and looked up at him. "So how much longer does this party go? Or is everyone going to get kicked out in a few seconds?" Dom teased.

Well, that was a great kiss to enter into the new year. He truly enjoyed the closeness and connection with Dom. It was electrifying, he couldn't quite put words to it, but he liked it. He was pretty sure a part of it had to do with her not attending Hogwarts, there was an added element to her that made her mysterious.
They remained close after their kiss, his hands were planted on her waist, "It goes until the last person leaves." he quipped playfully, a smile slowly tugging the corners of his lips upwards. Joe was being a smart ass, but it was also partially true, so he continued with an explanation after a chuckle, "Really though, my parents are big on no drinking and flying, or apparating, or anything..." he droned with a jokingly defiant eye roll. "So, the party has only started.." he declared with a serious smile and barely resisting an eyebrow waggle.
